I thought I'd tear through this cute, adorable WLW romance. The premise had me hooked, the characters felt real and engaging, and I was invested in the storyline for the first 20% I managed to read. But the pacing in this book really took me out of the story.

It took me DAYS to read the first 67 pages, all because each individual scene seemed to last FOREVER. I couldn't even tell you why so much time was spent on these individual moments because they lasted so long I would forget what had happened earlier. Maybe I'm just used to quicker-paced romances, but I could not imagine reading the remaining 230 pages at that speed. It felt like it took ages for events to occur or build up, and that pacing just wasn't for me.

But like I said, the characters were phenomenal and I love the idea of this second-chance/friends-to-lovers queer romance. I enjoyed the stakes being set, and I think other readers who really love character-driven stories will LOVE the direction the author goes with this story. It just wasn't for me personally.

Thank You Netgalley for the ARC!

i love this….. it was sexy and hilarious and talking cats and just so much fun and love and taking back one’s own story and it was great..

This story follows two high school friends one who is now, 13 years later, a tiktok influencer who left law school after the death of her father and the other an a-list actress haunted by her abusive ex.
They reconnect like no time is lost and find out how to move forward past all of their ghosts and back into each others lives.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of Everyone I Kissed Since You Got Famous by Mae Marvel.

There is a lot to like about this book. The characters are unique and interesting with fully developed, complicated lives. There is a plenty of humor and authentic emotion. There is also a very realistic representation of grief and trauma.

This book was a very slow burn. The chemistry between Katie and Wil was off the charts, Although they had known each other their whole lives and were instantly drawn together when reunited, the pace at which their relationship advanced was glacially slow. At first that was appealing but ultimately went on for too long.

The thing I struggled with was how Katie’s parents kept her isolated even from long-time family friends they knew to be trustworthy. I know it was important to the plot, but it’s the one thing that made this story feel less authentic.

Overall this is a very interesting and fun read. Rounding up from 3 1/2 stars.

This book had one of my favorite romance tropes- friends to lovers. The characters were very well written, engaging, and overall very likeable. Katie and Wil's relationship even had me swooning at parts!

The author launches right into the narrative, leaving the reader to slowly discern that Katie is famous and Wil used to know her/have a crush on her/have a relationship? with her, and things are now Awkward, with their only communique from messages passed between their mothers, who appear to be friends.

In chapter two, Katie is revealed to be a cat mama who has taught her cats to talk to her through using buttons to pick our words from a 50-word controlled vocabulary using an arrays of . While I could suspend my disbelief for this concept with Seven the dog in Lessons In Chemistry, I didn't buy it here, and put the book down at 7% complete.

Overall, I liked this book. I liked the romance and the sexiness, and the tropes were all the good ones. I didn’t exactly buy into the premise too much though. I think maybe those who are more interested in internet fame and media might click a bit more with the storyline, but I unfortunately did not.

Everyone I Kissed Since You Got Famous combines a few of my favorite romantic comedy tropes into the same book: famous person/non-famous person and internet sensation. I loved this non-traditional romcom!

DNF - I found the wrirting style a little confusing. They mention the two main characters not being friends but then they are talking more intimately in their first conversation. IDK not for me.

Everyone I Kissed Since You Got Famous is a sapphic romance novel that follows Katie and Wil who were friends in high school and almost more than that. They reconnect 13 years later after Katie becomes a huge star and Wil becomes tik tok famous. They realize that they were each other’s first love and want to be together, but with fame comes trouble with media and image that they must navigate. Wil’s story is also sort of a late coming to age story where she discovers what she truly wants out of her life.

While I loved the premise of the story and parts of it, I can’t say I was ever super invested in it. I feel like it was too long. Reading up on Mae Marvel and realizing it’s an alias for 2 authors makes more sense to me since there were parts I was more interested in and some I had to force myself to get through. I’m interested in reading some of each individual author’s work to see if I like them better separate than a duo.

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a mixed bag for me - though definitely more positives than negatives. Character development was fantastic- and our two main protagonists were generally very likable - I wanted to keep reading to follow their story. Where it lost me was I kept thinking I was in the final pages of the book, only to look down and see 40% left. Even though it was a reasonable length, it felt like the book went on too long. I think this would have worked better as a novella rather than a full book.

But that said - I definitely enjoyed the book and would love to read another by Mae Marvel in the future.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Thank you to the publisher for the eARC. All opinions are my own.

EIKSYGF is a sapphic friends to lovers *almost* second chance romance. I loved Katie and Wil's relationship. It's so clearly obvious that they have feelings for each other, and the TENSION is unbelievable.

I also really enjoyed the subplots with Katie and Wil's respective careers. While both women are amazing at their jobs, they're kinda stuck and capable of more. They were so supportive of each other while also allowing each other the space to grow.

The side characters are amazing as well. Every character felt very rounded, which made reading this book so enjoyable.

I recommend this book for fans of friends to lovers, celebrity romances, and (almost) second chance romances.

If you believe that love is love is love then please read this book!!

It's so beautifully written and there's so much heart and trust on every page. It felt like a perfect love story and I want more of it!! Both lead characters have so much depth and compassion, it's incredible.

Wil & Katie led separate lives that eventually brought them back together. It gives you hope that other people can have that happen. Add in that they both have and love cats and you've got a winner!!! I mean, cats. C'mon, that's a good as it gets!!

If you let the people who love you love you, that's a beautiful thing.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This was a cute fun read! It was a very light easy to read in one sitting type book. It took me quite awhile to get invested in the romance for some reason and maybe the beginning is a bit slow but that could have just been me! I thought Will and Katie had nice banter and chemistry. Overall it isn’t anything like life changing amazing but a nice easy palette cleanser type of book. I did find myself wanting a little bit more from the plot but will still be adding to our library!

Everyone I kissed since you got famous was, ok. It is a sapphic (hooray for more and more sapphic books!!) with one women famous and the other not, it is also friends to lovers. Its def giving.
The idea of this book was really good, but was surely a little boring :( it lost me very early on sadly but there is definitely an amazing premise for this concept there,
However I did stick this book out, and there is a great writing there!!
3/5 stars
thank you net galley, and the publisher for the arc read

It took me a few pages to get into the story initially. That’s normal for me, so I was not overly concerned, and I was interested to see where this was going. Around 25% it seemed like the writing changed for the worse. Once Katie and Wil met up and were alone that first time it was like a switch flipped from Katie being traumatized by a bad relationship and essentially swearing off sex to getting exceptionally horny over everything. Wil touched her arm? Horny. Wil touched her foot? Horny. Wil wears business casual to work? Horny. Katie’s reaction to Wil is also excessively childish and twee. Nothing that I would have expected from the very successful woman in her 30’s that was described in the first chapter. The dialogue became even more clunky and unrealistic. I read as much as I could, skipped around a bit, and read the ending. It never got better, and I’m truly sad about that, because I genuinely believe there aren’t enough mainstream queer love stories.

Secondchance Romance and childhood friends to lovers. This is a LGBTQ+ book. I actually didn't realize this initially. Our main characters are Wil and Katie. Friends in high school and separated as they each went on their own path.
The author has an interesting premise for both main characters. Katie is a famous actress, while Wil is a confident insurance adjuster who moonlights as a tiktok sensation 2 days a week. On her tik toks, Wil chooses a random stranger to kiss for 60 seconds. The way the author describes these 60 second encounters is soo steamy.
The chemistry between Wil and Katie is off the charts. While the author doesn't get too graphic, the spice is there.
You become invested in each characters personal lives, their futures, and the choices that bring them back together. The author seamlessly weaves humor throughout the book.
I particularly loved the way the author wrote Katie. As a huge follower of pop culture. the author shines a lot on the sacrifices celebrities have to make. Their life is no longer their own. Every decision is magnified and dissected by public opinion.
Katie and Wil have a beautiful friendship and love that results in a deeply satisfying read.

If I had to describe my experience reading this in one word, it's detached. I did end up reading the entire novel, though I found it very boring and kept zoning out. I never once rooted for the characters or felt a substantial connection with them. Everything just felt superficial and slow. Nothing about this book interested me, from the narration to the dialogues.
