I loved reading this! This beautiful book would be great for readers 4-7 years old.

It follows Mya, a young girl on a rainy day, who brightens the lives of the people of her town by opening a 'kindness booth' and lending a hand. Andrea Boatta's illustrations are bright and colourful, and the book has excellent representation of many different ethnicities, body types, and abilities.

Not only is it a lovely story of caring for those around, I especially enjoyed the educational questions at the end which encouraged the reader to think about how they might be able spread kindness in their own lives.

Thank you so much to Capstone/ Capstone Editions and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.

Mya sees that it’s a gloomy day and it makes her feel sad, with help from her brothers and best friend they create a kindness booth to help make others in their community feel happy and it stops her being gloomy too. But then it rains and everything is gloomy again.

This was so beautiful, what an absolutely lovely story of sharing, kindness and love to all. Mya, Oliver and Addie were such sweet children with the biggest and kindest hearts, they did anything that anyone asked them to do and didn’t complain, they just did it out of kindness. They happily helped their neighbours and friends feel better and spread a little bit of joy. It also came with really beautiful illustrations sharing all the kind things they did and sharing what everyone looked like which was so nice to see.

This is such a perfect book for children to read, it really was filled with a wonderful and sweet message. It’s also incredibly diverse which was so lovely to see throughout the page, it shares that kindness will come back to you and others will help you if you have every shown kindness and helped them. It also shares so more information in the back to help guide children with doing acts of kindness themselves. A really loving book from start to finish.

Thank you NetGalley and Capstone for providing this earc in exchange to my honest review.

I really enjoyed the book. The story was not just easy to follow but also engaging for children. If only the font could change color or the size would be bigger, that would be perfect.

This was the sweetest book! I loved the concept of taking someone’s gloomy day and making it sunny with acts of kindness. It was a great way to get my kids thinking about what they could do to brighten the days of people we know! The illustrations were beautiful and eye catching with lots of colors and detailed scenes which helps keep my youngest attention. It was a very easy read. 100% will purchase once published.

So freaking cute, I loved this!! I LOVE when books can teach children or people in general how important it is to just be KIND! I loved seeing how it brought the community together to cheer the children up on the gloomy day after they had done the same for them. I will be purchasing this for my daughter!

This sweet children's story features Mya, her little brother Oliver, and her friend Addie teaming up to bring brightness to the neighborhood on a dreary day. They set up a Kindness Booth and lend a helping hand to others by performing various tasks. When rain shuts down their booth, the neighbors they've helped return their kindness, and the warmth of the community outshines the day's gloom. The art is nice and the colors are cheerful. I enjoyed this read and am grateful to NetGalley for the chance to read a digital copy.

This was too cute. I want to get it for each of my kids' classrooms and a copy for the house.

A dreary day turns less dreary when Mya, her brother and her friend set up The Kindness Booth in order to counteract a dreary gray day. They learn about sharing kindness and how kindness comes back.

Illustrations are so cute, the story is super sweet. Even my little 2 yo reader stayed focused on the book the whole time. Highly recommend.

This book had diverse representation of people, which I love. It was a very simple story, but it truly got the message of being kind to others across; a lesson in which we could all do with a reminder of.

I read this one with my 3 year old son, and we both really enjoyed it!

The Kindness Booth follows Mya, who sets off with her brother Oliver and neighbour Addie on a gloomy day, to try and make the day brighter for their apartment complex.

There was a beautiful message about kindness in this story, but there was also informational pages at the end that suggested ways to be kind to others as well as questions to help children think about how kindness has made them feel. This would be a lovely book to use in the classroom at the beginning of the year to start a discussion about how to treat your peers.

The illustration style was also wonderful! The characters were cute, and the colour palette felt warm and happy. I also really appreciated how diverse the characters were! One of the main characters, Addie, wears a hijab, but I also think Julia is an Asian character, Tyrell I believe to be black and Kat uses a wheelchair. I will ALWAYS boost children's books with different representation, because as a mixed race Asian, I would've loved any media with an Asian character growing up.

Recommendations for a classroom setting: (Please note: I'm an educator in NSW Australia, should be able to be adjusted according to the syllabus for your location)

Syllabus outcome : PDe-10 "uses interpersonal skills to effectively interact with others" and PDe-3 "communicates ways to be caring, inclusive and respectful of others" (Early Stage 1, PDHPE, Health, Wellbeing and Relationships)

The Kindness Booth written by Laura K. Murray and illustrated by Andrea Boatta was such a sweet story! I am a psychiatric social worker at an elementary school and will be purchasing this book to read to the kiddos I work with. I love that at the end of the story, Laura gave examples for ways kiddos can be kind and some open-ended questions to ask to engage them in learning more about kindness!

Honestly this almost made me cry. Kindness is an important aspect of life and one of the most important things to learn. Children have such big hearts and helping to show them how even small acts of kindness to others can brighten their day and yours is beautiful.

This was the perfect book for our rainy homeschooling story time today! My two youngest kids have had a tough time with being kind to one another lately, so a story in kindness was just what we needed-and the fact that it began to rain in the story just as it began to storm here, was just a nice little added touch. This story is about a little girl named Mya, who starts a kindness booth to make a gloomy day a bit brighter. The pictures are beautiful and my kids-especially my daughter (4 years old) loved them! She keeps telling me that she wants to "be kind like Mya!" This will be a story that we revisit often in our home!

I loved this children's book, which is about a girl called Mya, who tries to make a gloomy day brighter by setting up a kindness booth, in order to help others. Along with her brother and friend, she helps a lot of her neighbours with different duties, and she practices a lot of kindness. Unfortunately, it starts raining. Will she have to close the kindness booth, or will someone be able to help keep it up and running?

This is a really gorgeously illustrated book, with easy to read text, which all children will love. I especially liked the illustrations and the areas at the end of the book which showed ways we can be kind to others. Highly recommended!

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.
