Finlay is back at it again, this time with the whole gang in Atlantic City. This book picks up right where the previous one left off. Finlay and Vero are the besties we all wish we had. This go around we got more Sylvia content and she is a nice addition as she wants Finlay in these situations so she can write more! Nick is the perfect hot cop that adds to the story. This reads like an action packed comedy and you can barely put it down. Finlay's antics keep the reader literally laughing out loud. There is tons of sassy and hilarious banter between the main characters when they’re in their sticky situations. Do yourself a favor and make sure to pick this one up!

I adore the Finlay Donovan books! They are some of my most readily recommended books. They make me laugh and keep me guessing the entire time. I love the outlandish adventure and the comical scenarios Finlay and Vero get themselves into. The characters are all well defined and distinct. The plot points are eccentric, but it absolutely works for the tone of these books and it keeps you entertained the entire time! I love how the details of the twists and turns are so precise. I will always read anything starring Finlay Donovan.

The easiest 5 stars I've ever given! This is my comfort series, which sounds insane based on the content, but it makes for amazing escapism. Cosimano takes what should be a gruesome scene and breathes humor and ridiculousness into it.

Each installment of the Finlay Donovan series somehow just keeps getting better. I do recommend reading in order, since the cast of characters has grown so much.

The story picks up immediately where the last book ended. Finlay and Vero read a note that sends them to Atlantic City in search of a car, a loan shark, Vero's friend, and a few days away from all the cops in their lives (so they can actually get stuff done). Of course, nothing goes to plan. Right off the bat, the kids have to join, so Finlay's ex husband demands being brought along. From there we get more tagalongs and late arrivals joining the crew at their seedy hotel, of course causing more chaos. Finlay also puts her ex in his place and it is *chefs kiss* wonderful.

Threats are exchanged, bodies show up, an iconic car heist may or may not take place, and we piece together the puzzle in real time with Finlay. There are also amazing displays of women supporting women. Like aMaZiNg, holler-and-whoop moments. The series gets wrapped up expertly, while also leaving us with a glimmer of what's to come.

As someone who doesn't do horror: this series is like if you were watching a horror/thriller, but it's actually a cartoon and it's on mute and you're playing Taylor Swift over it. So it's not scary, but it is extremely funny.

Many thanks for the ARC! I look forward to every single Finlay Donovan book! They are so fun to read and are well developed. This one was no exception! I loved reading about Javi and Vero, Nick and Finlay and the friendship between Vero and Finlay. So ready for the next one!

This author never disappoints! This was another fun filled thriller! I love the way the author describes the casino hotel. I’ve stayed in one just like😅 I could smell the carpet and rooms. The descriptions in this book were spot on! I love this series. I work at a bookstore and have put many copies in my customers hand. I look forward to selling this one.

This one was SO much more fun than books 2 and 3, in my opinion!
Steven insisted he join Vero and Finlay on a trip because "she could not take the kids without his consent", but he had no intentions on caring for them whike there. Loved that Finlay (while maybe not doing the best parenting herself) forced him to be a DAD! He couldn't handle his own kids for ONE weekend and he really thought he could take them from her? Or judge her for how she raises them on her OWN?! HA joke was him! It was hilarious lol
There was less romantic moments between her and Nick, whichbwas no fun. But they seemed solid as a couple and I love how supportive Nick was of Finlay ☺️
The investigation part of the novel continued on from where book 3 left off. Finlay is in search of her fancy car, the thumb drive, and surviving the mob. Everything from (once again) not calling the cops when she finds dead bodies, breaking in a car garage, dodging corrupt cops, etc. seemed a bit unrealistic.
Yes, the story got over the top, unrealistic, silly and a bit obvious but at the same time, it was fun. The characters were just fun to tag along with and I found myself just letting go of all those "that could never happen" thoughts and just enjoyed the ride haha
Alas, just when I thought everything was tied up nicely and Finlay can drop the shenanigans and be real with Nick....the book ends in a cliffhanger that makes it obvious more books will be coming. Not sure how I feel about that but hopefully that means I get a more romantic ending later 😂

This is another installation of the Finlay series, this one on a road trip to Atlantic City, with the whole family along for the ride. Unbelievable, but funny, scenarios keep happening while Finlay tries to keep her family safe.

I received an advanced copy through Netgalley, but all opinions are my own.

Finlay Donovan cannot seem to catch a break! She and Vero are back for the fourth time to wrap up their dealings with the Russian mob boss, an Atlantic City loan shark, and to rescue Javi. While much of the storyline is fantastical, somehow I’m still left rooting for Finlay and Vero to make it out unscathed. This time the whole family is on the trip including Finlay’s mom, Steven and the children. I’m not sure we’ve seen the last of Finlay and Vero, but I’m glad there was resolution to parts of their story.

Thank you to Elle Cosimano and NetGalley for the privilege of reading an advanced copy of this book!

Well, this is a continuation of the last book. So it is pretty important you read the last book before this one. If you enjoy Finley and her adventures you will definitely like this one.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for a Cody of this book for my honest opinion

This is absolutely one of my all time favorite series. Finlay and Vero, once again, got themselves in the middle of a big ole mess and the story could not have been more fun. I love the emphasis put on the importance of their relationship above the blooming romances. Girlfriends are the best. It's also fun to watch Finlay's babies grow and bloom as the story progresses. The author never misses with these and I hope there are 10 of these books at least!

Finlay Donovan has finally wrapped up all her loose ends... or has she? Cosimano does a fantastic job with this fourth installment. The friendship between Vero and Finlay hooked me from the beginning, and I was quite happy to see both of them get some happy endings in this one. The heart and screwball solving of murders while committing more continued to hook me and I just hope this isn't the last we've seen of Finlay and her crew.

DNF… I loved the first 3 books in this series although read them quite a while ago. I was disappointed that I wasn’t able to remember enough from the first few books to keep up with what was happening in this book. Hoping to come back to it, but truthfully, it’s not keeping my interest right now :(

Vero end up in Atlantic City, with the whole family along for the ride. Kids?Check! Mother? Check! Ex? Check! New lover? Check! Sister? Check! With family along you’d think it would be easy to sneak i out to do some sleuthing, but when your sister and lover who are both in law enforcement show up, it becomes tricky to even leave the room.

Finlay and Vero are creative, if not determined to find out who has their stolen car, with Vero’s boyfriend in the trunk! With the mob after them and the police “Protecting” them, the ladies need to be extra careful as they try to recover what is theirs. But with a fake friend and high stakes, the ladies find the odds aren’t in their favor. Can they turn the tables and create their own luck, or have they been dealt a crappy hand that will wipe them out for good?

I love Finlay and Vero. They’ve got each others backs and are sometimes the modern day answer to Lucy Ricardo and Ethel Mertz. While at other times they’re Rizzoli and Isles. Full of sleuthing, high jinks and red herrings…settle in for the ride of your life.

Finlay and Vero strike again! I love this duo and all the trouble they find themselves in. This book is nothing short of amazing. Loved the plot, characters, humor, and the ending. Hope there is another one in the works!

Elle Cosimano delivers another fun, suspenseful, and clever installment of the Finlay Donovan series with Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice! Throughout this whole series, the true star of the show has been the evolution of Finlay's relationship with Vera - how they evolve from strangers, to friends, to found family. Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice continues the trajectory of the earlier books in the series with Finlay and Vera somehow getting themselves more deeply entwined with murderers, loan sharks, and the mob. But, as with previous installments, Finlay and Vera prove their capability to get themselves out of even the toughest situations & to find some love along the way. This book is equal parts suspense and fun, which makes for a great read.

I will mention - there are often so many individuals wound up in the action of Cosimano's stories that sometimes I have a hard time keeping up and discerning who's who. But, usually after doubling back a bit, I can make sense of how all the puzzle pieces fit. In addition, I truly went into this book thinking it was likely to be the last in the Finlay Donovan series, but, with that ending - I don't think so! Looks like we'll be getting more Finlay in the future; let's hope that Cosimano can keep this series feeling fresh with each additional book and that she comes up with a finale worthy of what as been a great ride so far.

Would highly recommend starting this series from the beginning as so much of the fun is rooted in these characters' development over time.

4 take a gamble stars

This is our fourth book with the fun team of Finlay and Vero. Finlay is an author who has been writing some of her capers into books. Vero is her nanny and sidekick. I recommend reading these in order to understand everything and get the most out of the story.

This one picks up right after the police academy training escapades from the last book. Finlay is dating handsome policeman Nick. It can be inconvenient to have him around though when their capers go into overdrive.

Javi, Vero’s friend, has been kidnapped and Finlay and Vero head to Atlantic City to try to get him back. They need to negotiate with a dangerous loan shark who Vero owes money. The trip is further complicated when Finlay’s ex-husband, her mother, and children all tag along on the trip.

The action takes us to casinos, hidden restaurants, and seedy locales in Atlantic City. A few bodies pile up and I wondered how wild the caper would get. Throw in some stolen cars and some romance, and you have the recipe for a great read.

I cannot get enough of Finlay and Vero! If these books ever get the opportunity to become a television series or movies, Jennifer Garner is Finlay and Jenna Ortega as Vero! That’s who I pictured in my mind as I read them.

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is just as entertaining as the other books in the series. How long do we have to wait for the next one??

Thank you, St. Martin’s and NetGalley for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Even though this book gets super silly (I mean, the whole series is full of fun silliness), it’s always an enjoyable ride along with Finlay and Vero. The women are off to Atlantic City to hunt down that car and the missing Javi. Turns out, every one of their friends and relatives and law enforcement are showing up right behind them.

The cast of characters gets a little out of hand at some points, as there are a LOT of people to keep track of. It’s totally worth it for the chop shop visit with Hector and a quick pit stop at a male strip club.

Once again, a great fun read and I can’t wait to find out what happens in the next book-word on the street says someone unexpected has a body buried in their backyard!

Thanks to Minotaur Books, NetGalley and Elle Cosimano for the perfect book to break my heavy thriller streak!

1st Read: ★★★.5
Tense: First-person, past tense

I had a really fun time reading this book and I flew through it quickly! I loved the fast-pace nature of the novel and the shorter chapters. I gasped and I laughed out loud. This was the perfect novel to read to break up the monotony of my school reading.

While I really enjoyed the experience of reading this book, there are several things that stuck out to me in a negative way. First, I really wish one of 3 things had happened. 1. that this a standalone. 2. that the author had made this a duology. 3. If intent on creating a series, the author had made each book a standalone with it's own plotline rather than continuing one plotline over 4 books. Second, many of the characters were non-characters; they only appeared when it was convenient and didn't have much to do with the rest of the plot. Third, I think too many things were crammed into this book. While the main plot revolved around espionage, that didn't leave much room for family drama, romance, etc. which is fine, but maybe pick one sub-plot to go with?

Overall, if you've been a fan of the previous Finlay Donovan novels, I would still recommend picking this one up!

Huge thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review!

YES! I have come to realize that Finley and Vero are my new favorite partners in crime. I can't thank Netgalley enough for giving me the opportunity to read "Finley Donovan Rolls the Dice" months before it's release in March of 2024. I adore Finleys first three books and was devastated to think I had until next year to find out what happens next.

If your a fan of Stephanie Plumb... YOU'RE going to ADORE Finley and Vero. I laughed, I was slightly panicked as I speed red chapters to see what came next.

Liked the first 3 books? YOU DEFINITLY want to pick up this one! I can't wait for whatever future books Elle writes and fingers crossed there's more in store for Fin and the gang!
