After reading Holiday Romance in 2022 and it becoming one of my favourite books of the year, of course, I was excited to read the companion novel Snowed In. I went into this one expecting a light-hearted, fun and adorable romance and that is exactly what I got!

Megan is not looking forward to going home for the holidays. Especially after she left local golden boy Isaac at the alter four years ago and ran away. Christian is fed up of being on his own every Christmas. He doesn’t mind being alone he just hates how his family look at him for being alone.

So, when Megan bumps into Christian, they come up with a pact to see them both through the holiday season. They are going to be the best fake dates for each other. Rules are drawn up and a contract is signed but with everyone home for the holidays, things are bound to be get messy. Plus, when a snowed-in cabin and a little Christmas magic are added to the mix, anything could happen.

I’m always a fan of books that are dual POV because I feel like you get to know the characters a little bit better. You see different situations from both the character’s perspectives which opens up the story even further for me. Snowed In allows the reader to see the story from both Christian and Megan’s perspectives which I loved.

Megan is a hilariously witty main character and I loved watching her stand her ground. Throughout this book we see her rebuild herself and I couldn’t help but feel proud of her and all that she achieves. Christian is such a thoughtful, caring and intelligent man. We also get to see him develop as a person throughout the book which made me like him even more. I need more men in romance novels who look at their partner the way Christian does with Megan.

There is a whole host of side characters in this book too. We get to meet a lot of Christian and Megan’s families who I loved. The relationships they each shared with their siblings have to be some of my favourites. It was lovely to see Molly and Andrew from Holiday Romance again too.

This book covers quite a lot in terms of personal growth. Both Christian and Megan are dealing with their own issues throughout the book. The author does an excellent job of allowing them to grow as well as showing how the issues they have been facing have affected them over the years. These moments felt extremely realistic but didn’t at all take away from the fun and light-hearted elements of the book.

I’m now on the hunt for more books by Catherine Walsh as the ones I’ve read have been adorable, hilarious and a lot of fun. If you haven’t read any of her books yet, I cannot recommend them enough!

Overall, Snowed In is an excellent holiday rom-com that I would highly recommend. Even if you are just looking for a holiday read throughout this year, this is one you won’t regret picking up!

Catherine Walsh writes the most adorable love stories! I love them and always gobble them up! This one was no different. I will continue to lap up everything she puts out!

I absolutely loved Holiday Romance, another Christmas love story, by the same author and while this one was good, it fell flat due to my high expectations.

To start positively, I thought the characters were individually likeable and I certainly was rooting for them! Relationship aside, I wanted each of them to grow the ways they did throughout the book. That was so fun to see and to cheer along!

However, I never really believed their reasoning behind the fakelationship. It felt contrived and to be trying too hard to convince themselves and the reader of something with a really wobbly foundation. I didn't really understand how them dating would make the holidays easier for each other, especially because there wasn't a preexisting friendship they were building on.

But if you can set that aside, I thought the book was good and reading it leading up to Christmas got me so excited for the holiday season!

This is the second instalment in the Fitzpatrick Christmas series. I requested this completely blind, having no idea it was the second in a series, and could follow along pretty easily. Some trops are runaway bride, fake dating, friends to lovers, small town romance, dual pov, no third act breakups, and amazing cosy christmas vibes. The chemistry between the two main characters was genuinely believable, and I found myself giggling over them so much throughout my journey in this book. This is one of the best holiday romances out there.

I don’t think the blurb on this story did it justice. This was a great book and I really enjoyed it. Megan hasn’t been home since she left her fiancé at the alter, and everyone has turned their back on her since. Christian is nervous about going home as there is a lot of pressure on him.
This is a great story with twists and turns and a great plot line. I really enjoyed this (and have gone back to read the prequel too) and would highly recommend

Until this year I never heard of Catherine Walsh, but I had the pleasure of reading both her books this Christmas season! She is definitely one to watch!
Complicated circumstances kept Megan from returning home for Christmas for the last 5 years. Christian is the family anomaly and wants them to stop focusing on his relationship status. After a chance encounter these acquaintances from the past reach for the obvious solution: the holiday fake relationship.

While the trope is overused for a holiday story, but let’s face it that’s almost every Christmas romance. This was an entertaining one. The family dynamics and social stigmas were clever enough to keep me reading. The author nurtured the romance so we were all invested in how it turned out for Christian and Megan.
Can’t wait for the next read Walsh releases!

I was a little misled by the title of this book. The snowed in moment didn't come until about 70 per cent through, which was too late for a book with the title referencing it. It much more focused on fake dating than on forced proximity.

It also didn't really give me the feel Megan and Christian had actually grown up in the same town. It didn't seem like the small town Ireland vibe I was expecting that to bring.

I also don't really understand why a book written by an Irish author, set in Ireland, with Irish characters, was written in American English. It was rather off-putting.

But, the spice in the last third was a pleasant surprise.

I normally read a lot of holiday romances this time of year. However, this book was the only holiday romance I ended up reading and I’m so glad I did. This was such a fun read with so many lovable characters. It also features one of my favorite romance tropes, fake dating. There’s plenty of drama, romance, and holiday cheer to make this a quick fun read. If you’re still trying to squeeze in another holiday romance add this one to that list or definitely put it on your next holiday season tbr.

When we meet Megan, she is the epitome of runaway bride- literally running from her wedding when she happens upon Christian. He's one of the Fitzpatrick boys, one that we met in Holiday Romance. He helps her escape and keeps his mouth shut about it, hard to do in a small Irish town. It's total coincidence that Megan stumbles into him, literally, five years later in Dublin right before she is about to go home for the first time since leaving before her wedding. It seems like a perfect idea when they develop a plan together to "pretend" to be together to help each other out when they get home. Surely they can keep to their rules set out on a cocktail napkin and no problems will occur, right? What follows is an adventure in fake dating that ends predictably but so perfectly.

I absolutely adored this book. I want a Christian Fitzpatrick of my own, he makes me swoon! I loved Holiday Romance so much that I knew that I would like the second in the series, and it definitely did not disappoint. I feel like it can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend the first book so you should read it first. Megan is a confident leading lady, which is such a breath of fresh air in a romance and I LOVED that the conflict was easily resolved- no miscommunication here! Such a fun book, and I look forward to more from Catherine Walsh.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced copy of this book. All opinions within this review are my own.

A blizzard hits in this grumpy, sunshine, forced close proximity, second chance holiday romance. It fell kind of flat for me and I just didn't connect with the MFC Becca. Her hot grumpy neighbor Harrison is our MMC who was pinning for Becca two years prior. Basically once they get over the awkward-ness they start connecting.

This was such a cute holiday romance. I loved the tie-in of characters from Holiday Romance. The only thing taking off a star was that fact it was a bit too Insta-love for me. I would have liked to see Megan and Christian get to know each other a bit more.

This was such a fun holiday story! Though the story felt a little instalove, I fell in love with character as the story progressed. Additionally, the setting was charming. I would love to be snowed in at that luxury cabin. The supporting cast of characters were funny and provided comic relief. This is a must read holiday romance.

Walsh's Snowed In sets up a hilariously fun, extremely cozy, and easy to read fake dating story perfect for the holidays. While plots like this are common and easy to guess, there is something refreshing of Walsh's take and makes it a fun read. The banter between the characters as well as their chemistry.

But if there was anything to comment on, I would have liked to see more scenes of them developing the romance and also more time to watch them really fall in love. While it is understandable why things were as fast as they were, there was probably still some room to expand on developing their romance from just pretending to fully fledged feelings.

WOW!!! This book was unexpected in all the best way, i mean- holiday vibes, check; runaway bride: check and characters who have spent time growing up together: check. This book took me by surprise on how quickly i was hooked and in love with the characters; while not having to be devastated by a third act break up.

I loved this book! I read the first one earlier this month and loved it so I couldn't wait for this one. I think I might have liked this one even more! I really loved both main characters and I thought the setting was great! I'm a sucker for fake dating and thought it was done really well in this book. I love Walsh's writing style and can't wait to read more by her. I looked forward to picking up this book every time! Its such a cute quick holiday read!

Catherine Walsh has become one of my go-to authors for yearly holiday reads! Snowed In was so delightful. I loved both of Megan and Christian's families and the fake dating trope was done well in this story. The luxury cabin they get stranded in was full of cozy Christmas vibes and the perfect setting. The writing was snappy and funny (as usual!) and this book kept me hooked from the beginning.

I can't wait for the next Catherine Walsh Christmas book!

This book had some major plot changes that showed off her writing talent but lots of romance, Christmas spirit and family relationships.
