I picked this book up because it boasted a scenic lake house off the western coast of Ireland and a young woman from London determined to fit together the mysterious pieces of her mother’s past. What’s not to love? Thankfully, execution perfectly matched expectations, and I greatly enjoyed this novel.

Daisy Clarke hasn’t had an easy start at life. Her dearly loved mother died when Daisy was only ten, beginning Daisy’s gloomy shuffle through modern-day orphanages. Despite a bruised heart, she’s managed to work her way through minimum wage jobs and to work as a children’s book illustrator. Like most young Londoners, she struggles to make ends meet, but she and her boyfriend are dreaming of getting on the first rung of the real estate ladder.

The surprising news that she’s inherited a lake house on the western coast of Ireland comes at a perfect time. The sale of the estate will solve Daisy’s financial problems. But when Daisy and her best friend, Kayla, journey to Ireland to complete the legal work, Daisy is bent on discovering the mysteries of her mother’s past and is increasingly drawn to life in the bucolic town her mother was so eager to escape.

This was an enjoyable, page-turning tale of family, love, opportunities lost and found, and strange turns of fate. I enjoyed rooting for Daisy and watching her grow and thrive as she explores Irish village life. An engaging, heartwarming story.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy - all thoughts are my own.

This is truly the epitome of a fresh start, romantic, ideallic location story that will warm your heart.
The author gives a lot of backstory and enough details about the lead character, Daisy, to have you invested in her future.

I received an E-Arc from Netgalley and the publisher for an honest review, Thank you!

I could not stop reading this beautiful story of Daisy! I read this E-Arc in 3 days. I would have finished sooner but life always has something else for me to do!

Daisy thinks she has everything in order but life throws her some curveballs. I loved the curveballs that were thrown her way because you could feel the emotions and thoughts she had. It was so well done. Some of the curveballs even caught me off guard! Did these curveballs change her life? Did they make her see things differently? Gotta read the book to find out!

Here are my rambling thoughts on characters: Daisy's boss is pushy. My gosh..I don' t know if if her boss was pushy and miss know it all because of the job or just her personality. I was not a fan of her but I could see how she came to play in the story. Does her boss run hot and cold? Which temperature does she remain to be?

Daisy's boyfriend, Ash, I did not like him. He just seemed like the guy who wanted to keep up with everyone else's way of living. Just something about him. I can't explain it. Does she stay with him?

Kayla is Daisy's best friend and she's super cool. They have a special connection which I loved the mini backstory of it. I was so glad Kayla was with her on her self discovery journey to Ireland. They are two peas in a pod and yet different. Kayla is a great supportive friend to Daisy. She's a keeper!

Then there's James...well now he's a catch but there's more to him just being a lawyer and those eyes....*Swoons*. I thought his backstory was great. He was a very decent guy. What will happen to him? Will he be something more than just a lawyer to Daisy?

Moya, she's a friend of Daisy's mom who gives in her insight and some back story of her mother. The puzzle pieces fall in place! I liked Moya quite a bit since she is so mysterious!

There are some other characters that come to play which was great for the flow of the story. I think they all had their own unique traits.

The pace of the book was great! I like how so much was going on and yet there were a few things I knew were going to happen which was fun to see if they did come true or not in the story (I love doing this!). Then there were some things that I was not expecting to happen which made me gasp and then other times I was like "Yes!" The flying, the first time seeing the house, the landscape, the dancing, the fixing up, and so much more. I could totally see everything happening in my head like a movie.

It's all about Daisy learning about her mother's past and herself. Self Discovery!

Does Daisy save the house? Does she stay with Ash or James? Does she get the job? Does she find what is right for her? What was her path next?

There were so many tiny special moments in this story that I can' t cover them all because I loved them all. They all weaved a web of voyage for Daisy. You got to get this book when it comes out in November! Yup I may get a physical copy of this book for my library.

A nicely done story of discovery - and a romance as well. Daisy never knew what led her mother to flee Innisfree and now she's inherited a mysterious house on the lake. James is the attorney who is meant to help her with the estate but he becomes more. You, like me, might guess the secret but it's still a good read. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. Nicely atmospheric.

I have to admit I struggled to get through the first 3 or 4 chapters, but once I hit chapter 5 I couldn't put it down! As soon as Daisy Clarke went back to her childhood neighborhood I was totally hooked on The Irish Lake House. Colleen Coleman's newest book delves into the life of Daisy as she embarks on a journey of self-discovery of her family, her own identity, and her dreams. Daisy goes through a metamorphosis as she comes to terms with the secrets of her mother's past and she learns that she can build her future on her own terms and still find love & happiness. Definitely a "feel good" book worth reading.

Whimsical but never frivolous, sweet but not sugary, deeply kind rather than merely nice. I loved it. The story itself was also even more interesting than I had anticipated.

To be honest, when I read the blurb, I knew instantly what her secret was, and I was right. Despite the absolute predictability of this book, it was still a nice read.

The characters were well written, there were enough romantic elements to keep this romance reader happy, and the book had a good pace. A cute read that can easily be finished in an hour.

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for my honest review.

It's such a sweet and engaging story! I was hooked on the first page and could not put it down. You'll find yourself immediately connecting to Daisy, who is such a sincerely good person, and you'll be rooting for her & James the whole time! I absolutely adored them both! I found this book to be full of very interesting & well-written characters, my favorite of which was Daisy! Definitely a worthwhile romance read!
