My favorite part about this story was the setting! Paige and Cole both work at an island resort in Turks and Caicos. I really liked the way the resort, and their jobs played into the storyline.

While I enjoyed the majority of Paige and Cole’s enemies to lovers journey, I wish their relationship had been developed more. It felt way too fast. They went from enemies to “I Love You” in no time. Their feelings change so fast that it gave me a bit of whiplash and then the intimacy was the definition of slow burn. I wanted more time with them together, their feelings slowly changing, not an instant flip of a switch.

Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.

I am a huge fan of this author's works. She usually writes rom/com's like nobody's business. But...this one just lacked something for me. The female lead character, Paige, is immature and blurts out the most inappropriate comments to Cole, the hero of the story. Cole is much more reserved, given his upbringing he tries his best to break out from the mundane childhood he endured. Paige is a free spirit, raised by parents who travelled the world, with her in tow. She is putting down roots on Turks and Caicos working excursions for the Siesta Playa resort.

Cole is the assistant director of operations and loves working with numbers. It allows him to be analytical and structured. Things he welcomes in his life. But he does allow himself a little fantasy world and that would be his longing for Paige. He's been attracted to his since the first time he met her, but they seem to be playing a never ending cat and mouse game.

When Paige's position is threatened by Cole's slimy boss, Todd, he's determined to protect Paige by digging a little into Todd's dealings with the company. He's been suspecting for a while that Todd's up to something. Cole needs proof before he can make any accusations. Now here's where I had some cringey moments. There are multiple references to Todd's weight and his sloppy eating habits. Stop, just stop. I have no problem in calling out a character's flaws and evil doing, but I draw the line at poking fun of someone's weight.

There is some cute banter between the main characters in their frenemies journey, but a lot of the dialogue fell flat for me. I know what this author is capable of-she's one of my favorites but something just felt off with this one. They had such an adversarial relationship and then bam-they are suddenly lovers. This one off is not going to stop me from reading whatever the author releases next.

“I don’t think he meant to turn me on with his innocuous question. I’m just a horndog.”

Lots of laughter with this fun enemies to lovers from R.S. Grey

Paige and Cole both work at Siesta Playa resort in Turks & Caicos. There’s been tension between them from the beginning. They couldn’t be more opposite if they tried but yet there’s this spark between them they can’t ignore. So they banter, back and forth they go,it’s become their thing. Until the hurricane, and they’re forced to shelter in place, will they finally give in and admit that all the bantering they’ve been doing has been some kind of foreplay?

Always been a fan of enemies to lovers because of the banter and this one definitely delivered. The characters were fun and likeable.
A quick and fun, enemies to lovers with lots of banter and just the right amount of swoon and spice!

I struggled with this one. I think that there’s just been something missing from RS Grey’s writing lately. I feel like we just jump into love without seeing any growth or development

Your last resort from R.S. Grey, Paige Young is a girl who likes nature and is always on the move, with a non-traditional upbringing she finds herself longing to be in one place, to be able to create connections and have friends, this takes her to Turks and Caicos Island to work in a luxury resort as part of the group in charge of the resort's activities, there she has managed to achieve a bit of that stability she wanted, co-workers and a few friends who have accepted her with her peculiarities, but there is a colleague from work, who is almost his boss, whom since she met when she arrived at the resort and it was inevitable to notice how handsome he is, but it seems that they can't get along and are constantly pushing each other's buttons. Cole Clark is in love with numbers, his parents are strict and they hoped that Cole's decisions would lead him to a life just like theirs, but Cole doesn't want that, he feels that color is needed in his life, so he still even when he enjoys numbers he decided to pursue a career in hospitality which took him to Turks and Caicos and he is now the assistant director of the Siesta Playa resort, there he met Paige when she arrived at the resort and left him speechless, but it seems that there is noth he says to make Paige like him and they are constantly arguing, but it's indisputable that he feels attracted to her but he doesn't know how to overcome that barrier from “archenemies” to friends and then to something more. Paige's friends joke every time they witness these battles that this is the way they flirt, but Paige is afraid to believe them, and when they start firing people, she approaches Cole to see if she can get more information only that she accidentally ends up listening to a conversation that was not meant for her ears and finds out that she is next on the layoff list. Disappointed and upset, she feels that she was wrong with Cole, but a storm hits the island and they are forced to share a room and it's there where Cole must talk about everything he is doing to prevent her from being fired and especially be honest and accept the feelings they have for each other.
This story is fresh, funny, sweet and full of love, with wonderful characters with whom you will identify and you will be betting that they will soon realize what they feel and be able to witness their love. This author is quickly becoming an author to follow because I endlessly enjoy her stories for their freshness and unique characters. A beautiful story that you will enjoy from beginning to end and that will leave you with a smile on your face. Totally, and Absolutely Highly Recommended!

“Their Last Resort” is another fun rivals to lovers romance from R.S. Grey! Rachel is the queen of romcoms, and is an auto read author for me. It’s been a hot minute since she wrote in a tropical location (not that “A Place in the Sun” was really tropical, but just go with it), so that was an interesting background to set the story at, and it added to the plot.

The book didn’t strike me as being all that different from her other romcoms, but I didn’t really expect it to be going in. It’s a relatively quick read, only about 250 pages, and was an enjoyable read overall. It contains a lot of tropes that we all know and love, such as he falls first and only one bed. It’s meant to be a fun little escape, and I think it accomplishes that.

If you like this one, I’d highly recommend reading another one of her books, “Enemies Abroad,” as I really loved that one and it contains a lot of the same tropes!

Special thanks to Greys Promotions and Netgalley for the ARC!

Their Last Resort was a super cute romantic comedy. It had an amazing setting, great banter, and an interesting cast of side characters. I have not read R.S. Grey in a long time, and I had a great time with this romance, which is crazy because I am not the biggest fan of romantic comedy books.

Paige works in guest relations at a resort in Turks and Caicos. She loves her job and the found family she has at the resort. She has a frenemy type of relationship with Cole, the Assistant Director of Operations. Paige and Cole have obvious chemistry and amazing banter. They are complete opposites, and they have been circling each other for the year under the guise of disliking each other. This was not really an enemies to lovers book, as it was marketed, because they were obviously using the dislike and banter to constantly interact with each other. Paige could not admit she was into Cole for most of the book and even tried to pursue a bartender on the island that had zero interest in her.

A hurricane is set to hit the resort around the same time Paige discovers she is going to be fired. Cole is being pressured to get rid of employees from his boss, but he refuses to fire Paige. He draws the line with the girl he has been smitten and obsessed over. Things finally get interesting between them when they have to share a room and bed due to the hurricane.

I really loved the setting and island vibes in this book. Cole was a perfect, sexy cinnamon roll hero. It was pretty slow burn, and I was dying for them to admit their feelings. However, I will say they went from slow burn, denying their feelings to saying "I Love You" super quick. I wanted to see them together more and felt like the ending was a little rushed, but otherwise, I had a great time.

If you are looking for a fun, easy to read, and sexy romantic comedy, this is the book for you. This might be one of my favorite R.S. Grey romances!

Their Last Resort by R.S. Grey is a captivating read that delves into the story of two resort workers, Cole and Paige, as they navigate their enemies-to-lovers journey amidst a storm. The book is filled with banter and wit, offering moments of laughter, yet some readers found the narrative to be somewhat disjointed, lacking a smooth flow and depth in its development. Despite this, the novel shines in portraying the evolving relationship between the main characters against the backdrop of a resort setting, adding a layer of intrigue and romance to the plot. With its engaging storyline and dynamic characters, Their Last Resort is a compelling read that keeps readers hooked from start to finish, making it a recommended choice for those who enjoy a blend of romance, humor, and a touch of drama.

A lighthearted, enemies to lovers romcom where the protagonists have absolutely nothing in common. Set at an exclusive resort in Turks and Caicos, the heroine Paige is a free spirited, fly by the seat of her pants kind of girl. In fact, taking the job of activity organiser was her idea of settling down. In contrast the hero Cole was a buttoned-down number cruncher with a penchant for spreadsheets, his parents were both accountants and it was only the thought of living the same kind of grey life that they did that had forced him into his one act of rebellion was doing hospitality at grad school which had led him to the colourful resort and an assistant manager’s position. On paper they are complete opposites but one solitary kiss months before and Cole had fell hook, line and sinker for Paige. Unfortunately for him, she was more enamoured with a toy-boy barman named Blaze.

I loved the concept of this story. I mean enemies to lovers trapped on a tropical isle in the face of a storm and when you throw in a group of preppers as guests, Their Last Resort should’ve been great. I even liked the hero and heroine especially Cole who was giving off definite Clark Kent vibes to Paige’s Lois Lane but while I enjoyed the banter between them, I didn’t really get any real spark of passion or any emotion from Paige towards Cole other than irritation. By the end of the book I felt Paige was simply looking for some action and, after Blaze washed out, it was any man in a storm or hurricane in this case. I so much wanted to love this book but can’t help but feel a bit let down and flat after finishing it so for that reason I’m giving it 3.5 stars.

Paige has spent her life looking for the next adventure as she explores the world one place at a time. When she found herself at Siesta Playa it was no longer about finding the next place to explore but to find a way to stay. When you combine a dangerous weather event, her job being her jeopardy and her antagonistic relationship with Cole the sparks are going to fly.

Cole is Paige’s opposite as where she is adventurous, he believes in following the rules. Even though she may infuriate him she also intrigues him and the one thing that can’t be disputed is she makes him feel alive. When circumstances force them together, he might just find out that being with her is all the adventure he could ever need.

The banter between them was humorous and the situations they find themselves in will finally force them to face the fact that they are meant to be lovers rather than adversaries.

I can't believe I am saying this about a RS Grey book! I am a MASSIVE fan and have read and loved every one of her previous books!

This book, I'm sorry I couldn't get into. First of all the characters, both Paige and Cole, I couldn't connect with them, I didn't understand their connection and chemistry.
Secondly the time frame, at times the plot jumped into flashbacks, and if I'm honest because off that, I believe, I lost any interest in their relationship. Any build up was lost.

What I did enjoy was the descriptions, like all of Rachel's books, the scenes, places and graphics were incredible.

Even though this book wasn't for me, I will definitely support and read future RS Greys books. Her writing is incredible.

Thank you to the author, netgalley and publishers for a copy of this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

“What’s a superhero without a villain? If I died, he’d lose his plot.”
Their Last Resort was such a fun read! Cole Clark is the assistant director at Siesta Playa, he is by the book and serious. He is dedicated to his job and making sure Siesta Playa is running smoothly. Paige Young works in the excursions department and is free spirited. She loves being outside and running excursions for the hotel guests and is always ready to have fun.

Cole and Paige’s relationship was so fun. They constantly bickered, well Paige would bicker while Cole just stood near her. They had a nice rivalry going. However when Paige finds out that Cole is supposed to fire her their bickering becomes all too real. Maybe Cole actually does hate Paige and she always just thought it was joking? But when disaster strikes and they are forced to spend time in close quarters the truth comes out.
“Because every moment of my day is spent the same way. Hour after hour. Minute after minute. I want you, always.”

Every interaction they had I was laughing, their barbs were great and it was clear that even if they were opposites they were attracting!
“No more war. Wave your white flag.”

Cute romcom set on Turks and Caicos. This had everything I love about an RS Grey book. Laughter. Witty banter. A quirky heroine. The grumpy hero. I really enjoyed this book. Loved how the slow burn simmered. I enjoyed the tropical storm survival. Enjoyed the references in regards to the guests at the resort. It was a very cute book.

Their Last Resort by R.S. Grey was a cute, sweet, funny and delightful enemies to lovers story.
Paige and Cole’s chemistry was off the damn charts!
The banter between these two, the back and forth, is utterly hilarious. I don't remember the last time I've laughed that hard.
This story is so well written. RS Grey really did such a phenomenal job here. Both characters are endearing. I couldn't stop swooning. Even when they are being crazy, you can't help but giggle and fall even more in love.
I seriously can’t wait to start Caribbean Crush!

Thank You NetGalley and Montlake for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!

This was a cute and fun Island romp of a romance. I was swept away for an afternoon and I had a wonderful time.

Paige and Cole both work at a resort on a beautiful island. They had a missed opportunity to get together a few months back and have since been keeping their distance. But when a tropical storm hits and forces all the employees to double up in the hotel... they end up in an Only One Bed scenario that gets all our blood pumping.

I haven't read an R.S. Grey in a hot minute, so this was a nice little read to kick off the summer. I also listened to this on audio and the performances were fun and comedic and sultry all in one.

”Sometimes—okay, all the time—I look at Paige and think, God dammit, you’re the funniest person I’ve ever met. Simply existing near you makes my day that much better.”

She’s done it again, R.S. Grey has delivered another favorite for my collection. I will never tire of reading her books. Their Last Resort was set on a resort on the Turks and Caicos islands. I loved the tropical setting, it really made me want to take a vacation soon. Our main characters are coworkers at the resort and they live to “hate” each other. I laughed so much with this one.

Cole Clark falls first and hard and Paige Young is completely clueless. Her reactions to Cole had me chuckling. Here she is thinking he absolutely loathes her when all he can think about day after day is how much he loves her. It’s absolutely adorable. I really do enjoy when “he falls first”.

I loved the fun banter in this one. R.S. Grey is queen of banter - it’s what makes her romcoms so much fun to read. And when Paige finally realized that she’s had feeling for Cole for a while… I was smiling ear to ear.

“Every moment of my day is spent the same way. Hour after hour. Minute after minute. I want you, always.”

If you enjoy fun banter, frenemies, opposites attract, banter, amazing chemistry, he falls first, and… just one bed. Then I recommend you pick this one up. It’s a fun, light read and checks all these boxes and then some.

*A huge thanks to R.S. Grey and Grey’s Promotions for providing me with an eARC for review. All thoughts are my own.*

Overall this was cute, but definitely not a favorite of mine from R.S. Grey :(

* opposites attract & grumpy/sunshine
* he falls first
* forced proximity / one bed trope
* setting: Island resort
* slow burn
* dual POV

I can't quite pinpoint exactly why I didn't love this, but I feel like maybe it was the character and relationship development - it all felt too fast but also inconsistent? I can usually connect quickly to R.S. Grey's characters, but these two are very forgettable? I hate even saying that...

I was also confused with some of the timeline in the beginning - as I was listening, I thought I had missed something because the jump back in time was just so out of nowhere.

Overall, it's a quick easy and low-angst romcom that I give 3 stars!
