Author Kathleen Fuller has done it again with this page turner for answers.

We are given three different relationships and we really don't know to the very end if any of them will end up together!

It was fun being back in Marigold Ohio, and with the people there, including Nelson Bontranger and the brother who put the bride notice in the paper!

Things don't work smooth, but then our will tries to play out, and we need to wait for what the Lord has planned.

I love that the author included an epilogue! We get additional information!

Enjoyable book with Amish characters which does a nice job of dealing with relationships, romance, and religion. Nelson is 'on the rebound' and has sworn off relationships as he moves to a new town to open a butcher shop. He's staying with extended family which includes a nephew who's fallen madly in love. Other relationships evolve as well in this quick-paced story.

I always enjoy reading Amish romances, Kathleen Fuller’s novels are always fun to read and The Proposal Plot is no exception. I couldn’t put this one down!

I enjoyed the banter between Nelson and Ella as their relationship evolved from enemies into a loving and happy one. The business minded oldest sister, Ella, has a lot of responsibility and stress helping to run her families grocery store. Nelson Bontrager is a butcher who has been unlucky in love buys the space next to the grocery store. Nelson's nephew Malichi meets Junia and both are overly smitten. When family asks Nelson to chaperone the pair, he and Ella are forced to contend with each other, and find themselves attracted to each other. Love finds a way with God’s timing.

The characters are easy to fall in love with and Fuller makes you fall in love with the entire Marigold community.

The Proposal Plot is part of the Marigold series. I believe it can be read as a standalone. This story is about Nelson. He is thinking of opening a butcher shop next to Ella’s family grocery store. Ella is very bossy and opinionated. Nelson doesn’t want to have anything to do with her and her ideas after being hurt by two other girls. I enjoyed this book and its secondary characters which help the story. A quick read. Thank you to New and Zondervan.

Kathleen Fuller has written an engaging and fun novel that weaves three romances seamlessly into the plot. Nelson Bontrager is buying a building next to a grocery store run by the bossy Ella, her flighty sister Junia and their father. Nelson has been previously very unlucky in love and has sworn off marriage forever. Ella has been told she isn’t marriage material and Junia is boy crazy particularly for Nelson’s nephew Malachi. The girls are fighting bitterly over everything, their father is beside himself and retired lawyer Wendy Pearson offers to help with some family counseling. Sparks fly and ignite and Ella and Nelson are forced to chaperone Junia and Malachi and of course, find themselves attracted to each other.

It’s a fun story with lots going on but a book that will keep you turning the pages into the wee hours. Fuller also fills the novel with lovely descriptions of quaint locations and luscious home cooked meals.

I found Kathleen Fuller's The Proposal Plot to be a sweet and delightful Amish read. I am giving it four and a half stars.

This is book two in the Marigold Novels. It was a fun book I enjoyed reading it . It's the story of Nelson who is the brother of Jesse from book one. Nelson is thinking of opening a butcher shop and while looking at a warehouse in thoughts of buying it he meets Ella Yoder and sparks fly. She's bossy and opinionated and the thoughts of working next door to her family's store gives him second thoughts.

A sweet and clean Amish romance. This book uses a fairly standard plot, with good pacing. The characters are likeable enough to keep the reader interested, and there are some great supporting characters as well.

This was a super quick read, easily finished in under an hour.

I enjoy reading Amish novels and find it delightful when an author writes a storyline that is unique in its own way. This book had a great narrative with realistic characters and humor too.

I always know a great book when I just can't put it down. I got up last night to continue reading. Kathleen Fuller's characters come to life on the pages and seem so real to me. I just hope that a future book will have Ella and Nelson in it, so I can catch up with my new friends.

I really enjoy reading books by this author. The characters and the plot are always enjoyable. Sometimes the reader can figure out what might happen at the end but it is still fun to see how the story progresses. Barnabas, Wendy, Ella and Nelson were my favorite characters.

I enjoyed watching their relationship evolve into a loving and happy one. Kudos also to the secondary relationships between Barnabas and Wendy and Junia and Malachi. This is a new release for May 7, 2024, by Kathleen Fuller.

I’ve read my fair share of Amish storylines and this one differed from the others. In past novels, these communities were never portrayed as perfect. Still, this main character’s attitude was something. Ella was very hard to love with her bossy, often rude ways. Although she did have a heart of gold, it was hidden by her annoying attitude. I was concerned (haha).
Hang in there, though!

The realistic family drama was fantastic - both among Amish and Englishers. There were so many facets to each family’s dynamic. I could picture each group of people in their homes and as they went about their daily lives.
It was very interesting.

There is one scene where things get a bit, um, physical between two Amish sisters (not violently), and it was hilarious. Come to think of it, I laughed a lot throughout this book - which is not typical for me to do while reading romance.

WHAT’S THERE TO LOVE? I read A LOT. Can I say how much I adore it when authors can convey settings, personalities, and worlds so that it feels easy? Does that make sense? Some writing styles interrupt the flow because the wording seems complicated - like the book is trying too hard. You know? And to me, that makes reading fiction not as enjoyable. This book was not that way. The banter between one couple is pretty darn good. The scenes and dialogue flowed well and I looked forward to each reading session.
Oh, and the book cover is adorable.

ANY CAUSE FOR PAUSE? I will say there’s a lot of romance and talk of feelings, physical included (but not in a spicy way at all). I appreciated the way physical emotions were portrayed as natural, not bad, and yet as Christians, they wanted to approach them in the right, Godly way. For instance, there’s a scene where one “well-built” male character takes his shirt off and another instance where a couple is kissing and she ends up in his lap. The way these are handled is fantastic. This was a super clean romance book which I appreciate so much.

CONSIDER READING IF… you want super clean, VERY realistic romance storylines among Amish AND English characters, who are all very believable, flawed people whose lives aren’t always pretty, but real. And if you want to see interaction between the two groups with deep topics, conversations, and transformations on both sides. 😀

As always Fullers novels are such fun to read. This one being no exception.
I really enjoyed the banter between Nelson and Ella. Sometimes they made me laugh and others well.....let's just say I SMH.
Ella truly is a lovable character. I think all those responsibilities would make me hate being the oldest. I do admire her for holding up under such stress.
She's bossy which I love her for and sassy.
Junia really made me mad at her at times. Times I wanted her to wake up and smell the roses ugh.
These characters are easy to make friends with and I felt like a part of Marigolds community. I hate to say goodbye each time but knowing that there's more to come brings joy to my heart.
I think that if it's meant to be love will find a way in God's timing.
The cover is really cute too.
I'm giving this one 5 stars. I highly recommend.
