Honestly I stopped reading this book 15% of the way in. The main character Kate is supposedly a doctor but is incredibly naive and honestly a doormat where her husband is involved. While I would have liked to know the outcome, it's pretty clear that even if her husband didn't kill the woman he's a slimy man who's hiding a number of things. The writing style also didn't gel well with me as it seemed quite like something an elementary school kid would write.

The blurb sets the story perfectly kates husband is accused of a terrible crime. The thing is he us lying about where he was on the night in question and Kate can't work out the truth.
Told from kate"s pov the pace of the story is perfectly paced. Additional characters are added which gives you depth and red herrings and twists and turns. Some of which were omg monents. A couple were unbelievable to the point o had to take a break. The story was very believable and all the characters were well written. The pov telling gave it a greater emotional impact and tge interactions with other characters more realistic. I especially loved the interactions over oliviaas other characters voicdd my own concerns.
The final act blew me away but the loose ends seemed too quickly tied up.
Overall a fab 5 star rrad. Thank you netgallery and publisher and author.

Although this book gets really mixed reviews, I thought it was absolutely thrilling, suspenseful and jaw-dropping with its neatly placed twists and surprising conclusion.
I could not put this book down! I absolutely LOVED the main character, Kate and her resilience in finding the truth of her husband’s murder accusation while he was trapped in a coma.

Mark is a pilot that is accused of murdering a former fellow employee in Barcelona. All evidence points to him but Kate knows he must be innocent. Robert, his best friend and fellow co-worker Olivia come to Kate’s rescue, helping to take care of their son while Kate uncovers the truth. Kate soon figures out that not everyone is who they seem and discovers that her family may be in danger.

I was enthralled from start to finish in this engrossing novel!

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for this advanced readers copy for my personal review!

I enjoyed this book but at times felt it a little drawn out and frustrating. The main character got on my nerves a bit but I did like her. Good story though

The only way to tell with certainty if someone was capable of murder is when they killed another human being.

My Review:

This was a slowly evolving tale with many red herrings that kept me spinning with theories. I conjured multiple suspicions and was only fractionally correct by the story’s conclusion. The writing and storylines were easy to follow and populated by unique and authentic characters with multiple quirks and foibles, and while they weren’t always likable, they remained compelling and held my interest.

I tried so hard to get into this book and I just couldn't do it. I did not finish it. It was all over the place and the back and forth was confusing to me

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this UK-based story of tangled webs of lies, filled with lots of twists and turns that kept me interested in reading until the end. This is the first time that I am reading a book by this author and it won't be my last. I would like to thank the author, Netgalley, and Bookouture for this eARC.

How well do you really known someone? Everyone has secrets and a dark side they don't want anyone to know about, right? Ya'll, this book was so good!!!! I work a lot and found myself picking this book up in every spare moment I could find. It was so hard to put it down. Just when I thought I might have it figured out, Liz Lawler made my repeatedly question myself. This is a fast paced thriller and exactly what I hope for in a book. Quite the journey of lies and deceit; it defines the term, what a tangled web we weave. But we all know, the truth will eventually prevail. Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

My Husband's Lies by Liz Lawler is a recommended thriller.

Kate is a doctor, her husband Mark is an airline pilot, and they have a young son, Jacob. Mark is being questioned by the police in connection with the murder of a young woman in Barcelona and Kate is unsure she can really trust him. Then Mark is hit by a car, hospitalized, and in a medically induced coma while the police plan to arrest him. When Mark's friend, Robert, shows up with another co-worker, Olivia, they assure Kate they are there to help and support her as she tries to prove her husband's innocence while she also questions if she can trust him.

My Husband's Lies is a fast-paced thriller full of flawed people. The narrative is mainly told through Kate's point-of-view, whose judgement is questionable at times. While the plot starts out intriguing, it becomes formulaic. There is also a point where a huge suspension of disbelief is required for the plot to even continue. What mother would trust some random co-worker of her husband, one she has never met, to stay in her home and take care of her child? Uh, no one I have ever known would even consider this. Once this leap is taken, the plot becomes very predictable. Interesting, but not utterly gripping or jaw dropping.

I have read and loved all of Liz Lawler's previous novels and could not wait to start My Husband's Lies and it did not disappoint at all. I loved it.

Her writing, for me, is interesting, easy to read, great characters and a brilliant storyline. She writes the perfect books for me.

We meet main character Kate, a highly respected doctor and her husband, Mark is an airline pilot. Both high-flyers in what they do with a gorgeous little boy, they seemingly have a perfect life. That is until Mark is questioned with a murder that took place in Barcelona, Mark is a suspect as the crew were staying over and Mark was spotted with the victim. Before Kate can try and help Mark, he is in a car accident and is badly injured.

We follow Kate as she tries to investigate what really happened as she does not believe that Mark has done the crime. I really enjoyed reading about Kate and how her mind worked, somethings - like a stranger looking after their son was farfetched for me but still a great read.

I really enjoyed this novel and really grateful I got an ARC in exchange for my review.

Wow! What a fantastic read! From that very first chapter I was hooked. I couldn’t wait to find out what had happened. I really believed I had it all figured out but then there was big twists and turns. It really does keep you guessing until the end.

The characters where brilliant, I really felt for the wife. I found myself thinking oh my god what would I do if I was in her shoes. I was honestly frightened for her and felt so sorry for her. I desperately wanted it all to be ok for her. But I could just imagine all the suspicions she had going round and round her head. They where even going round my head as I tried to guess what had happened.

This author sure knows how to write a spectacular psychological thriller and I will first in the queue to read their next books!

My husband's lies started off with a loving couple who had it all. But as a wife you know something is off even if you don't want to believe it.
As the story goes on so does the drama. Every passing page gets better and better.

I was pulled in right from the beginning. So many different twists and turns that I did not see coming. It was well written and I loved the short chapters.
The story is told from Kate’s perspective. When Kate husband Mark is accused of murder, Kate can’t believe that he has anything to do with it. Isn’t long before her whole life seems set to come tumbling down. I would give this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and would recommend it to others.
Thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture and Liz Lawler for my advanced, in exchange for my honest review

My Husband Lies by Liz Lawler was a decent thriller and kept my attention to an extent. I did find that there were parts that I didn't feel were very logical. I don't want to spoil the story but the ending to me didn't make sense. There were some slow parts in the book but I powered through it because I wanted to know where the author was going. In the end, I would recommend a friend to read this book.
Thank you #NetGalley for the ARC.
