This book took me a little by surprise but a good surprises when I read the overview.

Denise did a great job of character development and made me care deeply for them, so much so I struggled when the book was coming to a close.
The setting made me want to book a trip. I feel this story has been told by many authors with just a different angle her and there.Still worth the read!

Denise Hunter’s newest is a delightfully cute romance. A PR arrangement turns into reality when the author of the book and the star in the movie move from antagonistic to friends to more. I enjoyed it immensely and it definitely kept me turning pages! I enjoyed Chloe and Liam’s interactions the most. My heart was inevitably wrenched by their misunderstanding. Squeaky clean romance and with a really good message about the importance of honest communication and relationships and finding ourselves valuable and lovable.

The reason for 4, not 5 stars, for me, is the absence of faith elements. They used to be ingrained in Hunter’s writing but the only bits I found in this one was Chloe briefly prays for Liam at one point near the end, and her stepfather is mentioned to be a pastor. What I wouldn’t have given for a conversation between Chloe and Liam about faith, a conversation between Chloe and her stepfather, or even just a little bit of Chloe and Liam bringing some of their troubles before the Lord scattered throughout. It just seemed to be missing a little something for me, and I think that’s what it was.

Still recommended and enjoyed! I just missed the Christian fiction in my Christian fiction.

"Love, Unscripted" by Denise Hunter is a captivating romance set in the small southern town of Stillwater, North Carolina. Chloe Anderson, a local author, finds herself in a dilemma when the actor Liam Hamilton, whom she despises, is cast as the lead in the movie adaptation of her bestselling romance novel. Despite their initial animosity, Chloe and Liam strike a deal to fake a relationship to boost Liam's image and Chloe's social media status. As they navigate the challenges of their fake relationship, they discover unexpected truths about themselves and each other. The book explores themes such as alcoholism, divorce, forgiveness, and the importance of communication and trust in relationships. With humor, romance, and poignant moments, "Love, Unscripted" is a touching story that will resonate with readers. The audiobook, narrated by Kathleen McInerney, brings the story to life and is highly recommended for fans of southern romance novels.

I’ve read a lot of Denise Hunter’s books in my time, and must confess this one wasn’t really my favorite.

Turns out relationships of convenience aren’t my jam or the trope I prefer to read, lol! Today I learned!

The writing style didn’t really have the same level of complexity I’m used to with Hunter, either (and no faith ribbon woven throughout at all). It was a fine read, very Hallmarky (which I can enjoy with the best of them, haha! I just watched a Hallmark movie last night, in fact!); just not what I expected.

Love Unscripted is a delight from start to finish. I read it in three days.

Debut author Chloe has written a major bestseller and is giddy to learn the story is being made into a movie. When the main character role goes to a Hollywood playboy, Chloe agrees to a fake relationship with superstar Liam, bringing her small-town wholesomeness into the equation. Neither of them expected to fall in love.

I loved the clever plot. The behind the scenes of the movie world were fascinating and as three Denise Hunter novels are movies, she knows her stuff. Both the characters charmed their way in to my cheering section within the first few pages. Chloe with her love of story and Liam with his surprising balance.

I enjoyed the complex cast of supporting characters and as ever, Hunter excels at writing a small town setting. Despite the tone of the book being light, there is an emotional intelligence to the characters. A clever combination that isn’t easy to achieve.

I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley. The enjoyment is all my own.

"Are you unhappy with the script then too?
He was not making this easy! Her cheeks flared with heat. "The script is wonderfully written, but screenplays are just dialogue and dry directives. A novel allows you inside the heads of the characters. You get to know their thoughts and feelings, and only then do their actions make full sense, you know? And even if he wouldn't so now, he hadn't read the darn book. He's admitted as much in Vanity Fair.
"Sound like you're trying to tell me how to do my job."
She resisted the urge to stamp her foot. "You're deliberately being obtuse. This is not about your acting skills - "

Chloe is determined that the movie adaptation of her book is going to also become a great movie. She does not like the actor cast as the male lead. At least she thinks she doesn't like Liam. But maybe how he is portrayed in the media is not exactly who he is in real life. Perhaps she shouldn't be quick to judge. Maybe starting a fake relationship with him will show his true colors. Her heart is safe. Right?
This latest book by Denise Hunter is full of snappy dialogue as well as self-evaluation. I laughed and cried throughout the book. Faith is a small element, but the romance is sweet. Family is an important part as well as lifelong friends. A North Carolina beach town provided the perfect setting.
I read an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley. All opinions are my own. I wanted to read and review it.

Love, Unscripted by Denise Hunter, well what is not to like about this book. The characters were realistic, layered and quite funny. I laughed outright several times. And as it happens, I was so angry at certain circumstances surrounding Chloe and Liam, I could have spit nails. If you’re southern, you know what that means ;) Anyhoo, you will enjoy this witty, lovable tale that I highly recommend.

Very sweet and clean romance between small town girl & author Chloe Anderson and Hollywood star Liam Hamilton. Both had a hard time trusting others so it was a somewhat bumpy ride for their relationship. Perfect ending though and the setting was wonderful too!

I read and listened to the audio book and really enjoyed it. Kathleen McInerney is one of my favorite narrators so the time listening went by fast!

A clean sweet romance of opposites that attract with a fake relationship that develops into so much more. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters, big time star Liam has arrived in the small town of Stillwater to begin filming of the movie written by Chloe. They do not get along for the get go, but decide to form a fake relationship for the better of the movie but as the relationship develops into more can they figure out their future.

This is my first book by Denise Hunter and will not be my last, so enjoyed a clean sweet romance.

I went in completely blind and really enjoyed this one. Fake dating is not my favorite trope but this one was so well done and wasn't fake for long.

I really liked how compatible these two characters were. I loved how easy it was for them to spend time together.

It was a little challenging to read about two main characters with so much baggage, but I loved that forgiveness and therapy were woven into the story. I also loved that second chances were given in multiple aspects of the book.

I really enjoyed the wholesome sparks in this book. Hunter has a knack for writing fantastic chemistry.

Chloe Anderson’s first book is about to be made into a movie. She is so excited, that is until she find’s out who the leading actor will be. Liam Hamilton has a terrible bad boy reputation. He can’t possibly be her book hero. And she proceeds to tell his manager that, only to find that Liam is in the room listening. So needless to say that sparks fly from the beginning of their meeting in person. The she agrees to help Liam with a plan to clean up his reputation. Then sparks really start to fly. The question is are they real or not. Sweet book would make a great Hallmark movie. Love, Unscripted- Denise Hunter-Four stars. Thank you NetGalley for a complimentary copy of this book for review. I really loved this story! Fake dating has become one of my favorite tropes this year, and when they are well-done, like this one was, I am completely sucked in! I really loved Liam and his growth throughout the story (the scene with his mother!). Chloe was interesting as well. The chemistry between those two was off the charts! I don't think I have read a couple with that much chemistry and banter this year (that kiss!). I enjoyed the setting immensely and would love to read more about this town. Overall, a great read! Highly recommend!

I like books that have a clash of cultures and when you start dating a movie star, that's bound to happen. I enjoyed how Liam and Chloe met the first two times. It was classic. It was interesting watching Liam navigate the media. I can't imagine being under that kind of scrutiny all the time. I found Chloe to be a little hard to relate to. I felt she had unrealistic expectations and was quick to make judgements. Both she and Liam have their issues trusting people so that's bound to cause some issues. I felt the storyline in the movie played out in real life but they didn't see the connection. All that said, Chloe and Liam had plenty of chemistry and I liked how things resolved for them. They learned a lot about forgiveness and trust.

Chloe has written a best seller. She cannot believe it herself, and when the powers that be decide to turn it into a film, Chloe is overwhelmed. A small town resident running a restaurant with her brother and mother she was not ready for the intricacies of the film world.

Her hero on celluloid is Liam Hamilton, a typical bad boy whom Chloe is horrified being cast as her hero. He has his own personal life issues to sort out, his social media accounts are all critical, he needs a revamp, a steady relationship with a nice young lady and Chloe fits the bill.

It all had to go wrong though, before it righted itself. Family secrets came out, new romances were established, hearts broken, then mended and it ended happily ever after.

We all need this in our lives!

Love, Unscripted by Denise Hunter is a cute, sweet, and clean story that I thoroughly enjoyed, it kept my attention throughout. In order to help with a difficult breakup, Chloe Anderson writes her debut novel, one that includes her perfect man as the lead. The book is a runaway hit that is optioned for a film, but when Chloe finds out Liam Hamilton is cast as the lead she is devastated. Liam is a super hot Hollywood actor, but he also has a bad boy reputation that doesn't fit Chloe's idea of her ideal man, she feels there is no way he'll do the part justice. The story follows him coming to her town to film the movie and them working together to try to bridge their differences for the sake of her movie and his career. Much to her chagrin, Chloe finds that even though she's not impressed by Liam, there are definitely sparks between the two of them that are not easy to deny.

Denise Hunter has been one of my FAVOURITE authors for years and any new release from her immediately jumps to the top of my TBR list. Her books never disappoint, and Love, Unscripted is no different! It is a light, heartwarming read, but engaging enough to want to finish the whole book in one sitting. The characters are well-rounded and believable, with their own struggles and flaws. Chloe Anderson is a small town author, whose bestselling book is being made into a movie starring Hollywood bad boy, Liam Hamilton. I LOVE a good fake dating trope, and the author absolutely nails it here. Highly recommend to anyone who loves a clean, inspirational rom-com.

A huge thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and Denise Hunter for the complimentary ARC in return for my honest review.

Denise Hunter has done it again. The perfect romance with a small town girl who is not looking for love but love comes and finds her. Chloe and Liam are both flawed characters which have been impacted by their parents decisions. Although the fake relationship is a familiar theme, Love, Unscripted is an enjoyable get away and fast read. This entry will delight Denise Hunter's fans and romance readers alike.

I received an ARC ebook from NetGalley and the publisher, Harper's Collins Christian Publishing, in exchange for an honest review.

Denise Hunter has penned another lovely story that is inspired by having a previous book made into a movie. This book has an adorable first meet-cute between the hero and heroine that made me smile. The story is lighthearted and yet dealt with some sad issues Chloe and Liam experienced in their individual lives. I found the book to be very enjoyable and inspiring.
I listened to the book, and the narrator's voice is perfect for the characters. She did a great job.
