Turn to the Sun is a great resource for those trying to be more present in their lives. I always feel better when being in nature and aim to reference this book in getting outside more!

When in your life have you felt most alive? You can feel that way again. You can flourish, with purpose, whether you are in a waiting season or ready to blossom. It's time to pause. It's time to breathe. It's time to grow.

I both audio-ed and read this book, the meditations are very good as well as the connection for grounding. I really enjoyed it.

I was a bit thrown off at the beginning of this book. I wasn’t expecting a “nature” book to be written from the view point of someone living in a big city. The first few chapters had me feeling sad and confined as I read the affirmations provided for city dwellers. Anyway, I’m glad I pushed through and kept reading because the later chapters really sang to me. And, reflecting on it now, I can see how the first sections would be extremely helpful to someone confined somewhere with limited access to nature.

I am grateful to have received an ARC of this book via NetGalley. My copy did not have a table of contents or an index, maybe the final version will. An index would be especially helpful so the reader could choose an affirmation based on their current location, situation, or mood.

TURN TO THE SUN by Brittany Gowan is developed to be "Your Guide to Release Stress and Cultivate Better Health Through Nature." Gowan has a background in psychology and coaching, and she draws on that experience plus her own love of nature to guide readers in areas she refers to as connecting and nourishing. Each of a dozen chapters begins with a short introduction and then turns to subsections on affirmations, meditations, and a "how-to" task for readers (examples are available in amazon). Beautiful nature photographs and close-ups are interspersed. The concept of reducing stress through nature is not a unique one, but Gowan has compiled quite a few ideas. The difficulty is that this title is very text heavy and these kinds of exercises could work better in a podcast or with bullet points; some type of format (e.g., using her lovely pictures in a daily calendar?) which made it easy and fun for readers to calmly spend quiet reflection time.

Well written and it is actually an interesting and soothing read.

I love books that make tife easier to get through.. This book does feel as though it is a combination of various other books on the subject matter, but it is very interesting nonetheless and uplifting. Not sure I would pay the full price for this one, but I would definitely get it from my library.

This book is a practical, helpful read. I connected with the authors need for nature and how it grounds and centers her life.
The tips, affirmations, and meditations were easy to understand and implement.
I recommend this book to anyone just starting out with awareness and meditation, or someone looking for a fresh perspective on mindfulness.

Includes great affirmations and meditations. Easy to follow and easy to read. A good reminder that nature brings a lot of comfort.

I received this book as an ARC via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Many thanks to the author and publisher for this opportunity.

The mindfulness practices in this book are clear and easy to follow.

The affirmations and meditations to help you pause and reflect and connect with nature in this book would make for a great audiobook to listen to on a nature walk.

This is such a sweet and lovely book! The exercises are so great. My only note is that I wish the photos of plants were labeled because I love learning to identify plants more easily!

I guess I am just not a fan of self help books that come with instructions. I expected this to be more nature centered instead of how to experience nature so as to feel more centered! I thank NetGalley and Harper Celebrate for the advance read.

First of all, thank You, Netgalley for the ARC granted. I thought it was another kind of narrative, however I could appreciate the journey through the pages, and conclude with a positive experience. It's a content that mix nature connection with body, mind and soul, so in the end, it has a vibe that I ike to read.
