Gwen is recovering from a long-term relationship, has quit her job to run a coffee shop out of a van, and her best friend is getting married to a man she barely knows. It’s easy to say that her life is falling apart. Gwen has turned to swiping on a dating app, and matches with men who seem good at first glance but each have their own problems. Oh, and one by one they all end up dead after she went on a date with them?!?!

I loved how the story was set up. There is a bit of a past and present timeline type theme going on. In the present, Gwen is solving the murders and figuring out the killer. Gwen is also reliving her terrible dates of the past trying to figure out the connection between the murders. This was my favorite part of the book. I looked forward to reading about her dates and the men she found through the app. I also loved the bit of flirty vibes between Gwen and Detective Dandy Lyons. I’m always a sucker for romance.

The ending of the story did seem to drag on. I will say I felt like last minute information and plot lines were thrown in, and were never really resolved. The ending did shock me and overall I was entertained by crazy twists. Each chapter left me guessing and questioning my original guesses. What a highly entertaining debut that I would recommend to anyone wanting to get into the thriller genre.

Absolutely loved this one! Gwen is a very relatable character who feels like a friend you're rooting for. While this is a mystery, it remained fun and light hearted. A bit predictable in certain cases but will definitely keep you guessing and entertaining throughout the whole book. I couldn't put it down! Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for this ARC.

A modern day who dunnit with an online dating app, many failed dates, and amateur detective. I truly didn’t expect the ending, in fact, there were several places when I thought I knew who the killer was, but I was wrong. The ending was a little lackluster, but the mystery made up for it!

This was such a fun read! A thriller rom com was exactly what I didn’t know I needed. Dating apps, serial killers, and hot detectives, oh my! Well-written and excellent twists I did not see coming. Will be recommending all my friends read this in May!

Thank you Netgalley for the arc of this upcoming release!

This was a campy, fun, spin on what I feel could be one of 2024s top beach reads. It’s one of those books that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Our MC is lonely, heartbroken and as one does, she starts online dating. It isn’t til her dates start to show up dead that the story takes off and turns into a quick paced read.

Gwen is 29, owner of a coffee van, lives with her best friend Sarah, and recently broke up with her boyfriend, Noah. She’s been on a few dates from this dating app, Connector. Things take an unexpected turn when her dates appear dead one by one, and she becomes the prime suspect.

I’m torn! The premise was so good. Once I started, I was flipping pages instantly. I think the author did a good job with the FMC. At one point, I was concerned for the reveal to be too obvious. It kept me guessing until the end, and it ended up disappointing me! I just feel like that choice came out of nowhere. Sure, it explains why, but still did not resonate with me. Other than those last 2-3 chapters, it was an overall enjoyable read.

Thank you Gallery Books and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Gwen is nursing a broken heart and using a dating app to try to get over a boyfriend. But suddenly all of her dates start showing up dead! She has to figure out what is happening before someone else gets hurt! I thought this was a fun. Gwen is a funny character and it was a good plot. I did feel like some of the things she did were absolutely ridiculous and not realistic, but overall I enjoyed this.

This book was a quick and entertaining read but the plot really went off the rails for me in the last 25% or so. So many twists were thrown in I felt like I was getting whiplash and I found myself confused by an otherwise simple plot. I think the author was trying too hard to make it into a murder mystery "whodunit" at the end and could've stuck the landing better with a couple fewer twists. The writing was also tough to get through at points - kind of felt like a high schooler's first draft of a novel - particularly when the chapters transitioned into a summary of each date. Still managed to be a fun read with some laughs but I'd keep expectations low.

This is a a funny, ironic look at relationships and dating apps, throw in a serial killer and there you have it. I didn't esp like it but my students might relate to it better.

What a wild ride! I desperately wanted to help Gwen solve the question at hand. With it being a mystery, naturally my conclusions matched with the book, which made some parts seem slow. I quickly got over those lulls and am so glad I kept reading and could not put this book down.

There were some parts that weren't believable and made Gwen unlikable (not for the obvious things), but it was a fun read.

Thank you for allowing me to read this early!

I'm not typically a big fan of mysteries or thrillers, but I was intrigued by this one from the plot and the title. And now that I've finished it, I'm glad I tried it because I really enjoyed it and was completely captivated by the twists (oh, the twists!) and turns. It's told with such well-written, compelling language that had me completely hooked to keep reading and discover the mystery for myself. And the end game was in no way predictable, as a good mystery should be.

oh boy - what a fast, fun, little ride this one is. great narrator voice, interesting friends / side characters, and a killer hook. the blurb makes reference to Scream, and this book has more than one hyper-obvious Scream-ish moment throughout, and it's all in good fun. a bit of murder, a bit of mystery, and a cute puppy mixed in.

Unfortunately, I really struggled with this book. The setup and story didn’t come to fruition for me and I genuinely didn’t like any of the characters. I finished it, but reluctantly.

Think of your worst date you’ve met through a dating app. Now imagine a day after the date the police knock on your door cause the bad date is now dead. Literally.

Gwen is trying to get over her ex but swiping right on a dating app. She doesn’t expect she would end up as a person of interest in her date’s murders but that’s what happens.

This book was fun. Gwen was forward thinking enough. She wanted to help the investigation, but wasn’t too annoying about it. This book made me laugh and I thought the mystery was really good.

Thank you NetGalley and Gallery Books for the ARC.

This was a fun read! Gwen is a bit of a hot mess in the love department, frequently going on bad dates. On a night out celebrating her bff’s upcoming nuptials, she gets some terrible news. A guy she went on a date was with murdered. And then another one…

Gwen was an entertaining main character to follow. You couldn’t help but root for her and want her to get everything figured out.

Thanks as always to NetGalley for the ARC.

I really enjoyed this book! At first I was a little apprehensive due to some dialogue being all over the place and some characters feeling like they were acting out of character. BUT fortunately, the author proved me wrong and everything was tied together perfectly and everything felt explained in my opinion. I think Gwen as a character was a bit much sometimes due to her constant mood switches (literally sometime on the same page) and I also felt like it took her a long time to put two and two together. Overall it was a great story and I had no idea who the killer was up until it was finally revealed. Definitely recommend giving this one a read.

This is a darkly humorous murder mystery that focuses on online dating. I enjoyed the narrator's voice and the clever plot twists. This was a fast and fun read!

The blurb stating that this book is like Bridget Jones meets a Scream movie is absolutely the best way to sum it up. I was pleased to have some moments that genuinely made me laugh out loud, some moments that made me think I had everything all figured out.... and I was surprised at the end, when I realized that I didn't, in fact, have it all figured out. Overall, this book was delightful. I know it will be an easy sell, and I truly cannot wait to see what the author writes in the future.

Super fun thriller that’s super well written. The whole theme of it being a dating app serial killer works great. Thanks for the arc. 4.5
