This book is number 6 in the series. I liked Daniels writing and I simply couldnt put it down until I knew what was going on. Told by multiple POV's . I recommend you read the other two books first.

I was really looking forward to the newest instalment of the series and it didn’t disappoint. Fast paced and twisty, I really enjoyed it! It was great seeing more sides to Mackenzie, who is still harbouring a dark secret whilst serving as a detective. Great book!

I have read all the books in this series and i think I had the hardest time with this one. I really like Mack & Nick, happy to see them together. with this story covering various years, I got a little lost at times and a bit confused.
Overall, this was a good addition to the series. I thank NetGalley for the advance copy. Look forward to the next in the series.

Detective Mackenzie Price and her partner Nick Blackwood investigate a murder of a young girl. Then a second girl shows up. The murders are copy cat of a killing 30 years earlier.
Great book.
Thanks to publisher Bookouture and NetGalley for the ARC.

Wowie, this book was fantastic! It had me quickly flipping the pages. The author did an awesome job of leaving a hook at the end of each chapter, making it near impossible to set the book down.

In this book, Detective Mackenzie Price is pulled into an investigation that spans decades. With one telling part of the killer's method of operation linking the murders, it's impossible to dismiss that there is a connection. Unfortunately, there isn't such a clear link between the victims, but that and motive are puzzles that Mack is determined to solve. Once she edges closer, though, she better start watching her back because the killer she's hunting isn't going down without a fight. Will Mack come out of this unscathed, or will there be deadly consequences on the path to justice?

This book stands fully on its own, but it's clear that Mackenzie has a dark past. While there are flashes back in time, I think readers would get even more out of this installment if they started the series from the beginning. But I can honestly recommend this read even if you dive right in with this book! I look forward to seeing where the series goes from here.

Out of Sight is an addictive crime thriller that will have you burning through the pages until the very end.

Thank you to Bookouture, NetGalley, and the author for an advanced reading copy.

Madmak is perhaps a little less mad. She is becoming closer to her partner Nick. She is on a mystery of some missing and murdered women that becomes much more testing her relationship with Nick and Sully. a new character Zoe comes in and we are left with a Quick Look at what the next book might bring.
Solid police procedural. Given a copy by NetGalley. Opinions are my own.

4 Stars

You can read all of my reviews at Nerd Girl Loves Books.

This is the 6th book in the series, but is a stand alone mystery. I haven't read the previous books but I didn't feel lost. This book was filled with action and tension from the start. I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting.

Detective Mackenzie Price and her partner Nick are first on the scene of a dead woman missing her left eye. As if that wasn't bad enough, the woman had recently given birth and the baby was nowhere to be found. The M.O. is similar to a murder 30 years ago, but that person was captured and died in prison. When another woman washes up on shore missing her left eye, Mackenzie knows there is a serial killer in the area, and she needs to stop them before they kill again.

Mackenzie is smart, determined, and tough. She relentlessly follows every lead to close in on the killer. The book has all the elements you look for in an exciting thriller, including a creepy commune (or is it a cult?) and a sinister, but charming, leader. Mackenzie just knows the leader is a sleezeball up to no good, she just can't seem to prove it. Yet. And just how wide does the corruption go?

Mackenzie will stop at nothing, including losing her own life, to protect the community and catch the culprit. I loved her tenacity and would definitely want her to get me justice if something bad happened to me. Once the mystery is solved, the book ended on an intriguing cliffhanger...I can't wait to read the next book in the series. In fact, I'll probably go back and read the series from the start.

If you like badass women, lots of action and twisty thrillers pick this book up. You won't be disappointed.

I received a complimentary e-copy of this book from NetGalley and Bookouture. All opinions are my own.

It took quite a while for me to get into this book. There are a couple of murders early on and the prologue is quite cryptic . It also took me a while to get to know the main detective, McKenzie, who has a complicated history. But I do not give up easily and by half way through the book it started to grab me, the plot came together for me and I started to enjoy the book. As the investigation starts to come together, the pace picks up and there are twists in the different strands of the plot.
A good read, the detectives'characters are interesting , the plot is interesting and does stack up and there are hints of a future investigation, a book I definately want to read.

WoW this series has been Excellent from the very first book called Our Daughter's Bones back in 2020.....

Out of Sight by Ruhi Choudhary is the sixth book in the excellent Detective Mackenzie Price series and it has just been superb!

When a woman's body is found with one eye missing, this launches a re-opening of a decades long case. Detective Mackenzie Price her partner Nick Blackwood starts to investigate this only to find a cult which is like a religion which lead to a big police cover-up of former drug addicted women.

Now, Mackenzie and Nick need to be quick and find the murderer before it's too late.

It was brilliant especially as it was full of twists and turns throughout and fast paced. The characters were brilliant and I really like Detective Mackenzie Price and her partner Nick Blackwood they make a great team.

I highly recommend this series.

Big Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher Bookouture for my digital ARC to read in exchange for an honest review.

This book took me longer than normal to read and while it wasn't my typical page turning suspense novel it had a good story line and the author really kept me guessing throughout the book. This was my first book in the Detective Price series but I don't think it will be my last. There is a time for a book that I cannot put down and a time for books that I'm not so obsessed with that I can't walk away from the story and pick it back up later. I definitely reccomend this book for anyone who enjoys a good crime mystery that keeps you guessing until the while story unravels!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for my copy of Out Of Sight by Ruhi Choudhary.

Although this is the sixth book in the series about Mackenzie Price (Mad Mac) it is the first I have read.
It did not matter at all.. I was hooked from the first page and it never let go.
A woman is found died with her left eye removed. 31 years ago the same thing happened, did the get the wrong man. No one can ask him he died in prison years ago. The another body appears and the race is on to stop the killer before they strike again.
A great read.

Oh I liked the strife among the team in this one. A new twist in the series. And the trouble that Mackenzie gets herself into. Always for good reasons, but still. As always I am a fan of how hard Mackenzie and her team work to follow the leads and find justice.

There is a cult and either a dormant killer back on the loose or a copy cat that is removing their victims’ eyes. This one had me at creepy. So is the cult leader part of it all, or just his own evil?

This is a fast paced procedural with an intricate plot that drew me in from the start and kept me wanting more. I like the main character Mackenzie or Mad Mack. She is gutsy and tenacious as she follows the clues and tries to stop the bad guy from continuing to victimize the cult women.

This case easily stands alone but the relationships of the characters grow from book to book, so while you can easily read this one as a stand alone, I recommend the entire series.

Out of Sight by Ruhi Choudhary is the best of this wonderful series to date. People open their hearts in a way they haven’t in the past and it is heartening, although difficult to have a heart and be a cop at the same time. They had a murder. One of her eyes had been gouged out, post-mortem, thankfully. Who could do such a thing? Why? It harkened back to a crime years earlier, just as gruesome but more poignant and it happened while her teen-aged son had been in the house and her baby daughter was taken. The baby’s bones had ostensibly been found a year later. The husband’s life was over. He hunkered down to raise his son, who had died later, unrelated. They were all buried in his backyard. His heart was broken. Now they needed to talk to him. Would it break him?

Mack, know fondly as Mad Mack, was a fearsome detective. She never let things drop, but people were acting strangely now. Her boss, who had been at the original crime scene was acting the strangest of all. She looked at the old file and saw some problems. They called in his ex-partner, now retired. He added some things that weren’t in the file. Then it happened again. This case was going to break Mack, she could feel it. Her relationships were changing. This was just too much. What a great character she is. Well-written and engaging. We feel her pain, and her joy. Choudhary writes a good police procedural, although, thankfully, this doesn’t happen every day. The plot is excellent and, as so often happens, rooted in the past. Excellent read.

I was invited to read a free e-ARC of Out of Sight by Bookoutre, through Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #Netgalley #Bookoutre #RuhiChoudhary #OutOfSight

would like to thank netgalley and the publishers for this book

a cult
murder
eyeballs missing from bodies

when mack and nick arrive at the scene of murder they discover a grisly detail.... that one of the victims eye balls is missing and this murder also hints back to another murder that happened years ago

could these murders be linked even though the murderer has died in prison... its a puzzle all right but as the clues keep coming and with hints to the farm where the mysterious cult live, could they somehow be involved

as mack and nick investigate things start to get cloudy and with evidence that point to one of their own its not long before an arrest is made...

book 6 in the series and its my first time with this author, i did struggle through some of this book as i have missed the build up with all the characters but it seems a good read

I've said this before - I'll say it every time. If you are not reading Ruhi Choudhary - run and buy them all.
Suspense at its best, fast paced so order food in, sink into a comfy chair and ignore people.
Mackenzie and Nick - I am all about strong kickass women. Mack does not disappoint.
Gritty, real, emotional and just so well written!

A young woman is found dead in the woods, beaten to death and her left eye removed. Mackenzie aka Mad Mack and her partner, Nick Blackwood are on the case. It is eventually revealed that thirty years ago another woman was killed in the same way and her baby was taken. Baby Rose was never found, but bones linking to her were found in the forest behind her house. Secrets are revealed and that case is reopened. A second woman is found dead in the same way and Mack and Nick think they have a serial killer on their hands. The women also tie to a cult, not a religious one but more of a commune, where both of the women gave birth and their children still live there even though their mothers left. Will Mack and Nick find out who is behind these horrendous deaths before anyone else ends up dead?

This is the 6th book in the Detective Mackenzie Price series and although it can be read as a standalone, I have enjoyed this series so much, that I recommend you read them all. In this story ethics and morals come to a head and have Mack questioning those around her. There are a lot of lies and secrets and Mack will need to reconcile her feelings towards others who have lied and perhaps broken the law, while she herself has her own secrets. This is a dark police thriller with some horrendous crimes and obviously a creepy and psychotic killer, but I liked how this story played out. Mack and Nick are great investigators, and I like how they put the clues together. There were some roadblocks they had to get through, some put up by their own Captain, that had my spidey senses tingling. The mystery was intricate and well plotted and had me turning the pages quickly to see what was going to happen next and if any of my hunches were correct. With several twists, surprising actions and a hook to lead us into the next book, I finished this one with a satisfied sigh. Another great book in the Detective Mackenzie Price series that I recommend to those who enjoy crime thrillers and police procedurals.

Book 6 in the brilliant Detective Mackenzie Price series.

When a young woman is found murdered in the woods, Detective Mackenzie Price and her partner Nick Blackwood are first on the scene. The harrowing discovery leaves them both breathless—the victim’s left eye has been removed. Mackenzie identifies the victim as Whitney Smythe, a lost soul with troubled past, and makes another shocking discovery—Whitney recently gave birth.

Reeling from the scene, Mackenzie and her team soon discover that this case is very similar to a murder that happened thirty years ago. But the killer was captured and died behind bars, so how can the two murders possibly be connected?

Well that opening chapter has me instantly hooked! So many secrets and lies kept this plot fast paced and gripping. I couldn't get through it fast enough. Great book!
