Kids are sure to enjoy this delightful rhyming story about prime numbers and remain-deers! I love how this book - and the wonderful math teacher, Mrs. Lynx - invites readers (and reindeer) to solve the puzzle at the center of the book themselves. Why, the book asks, is 13 a number that can't be broken into groups? Except for groups of 1 or a group of 13? A fabulous introduction to the concept of grouping, with themes of inclusion as well! This fun and educational book will get kids thinking about math - and about forming groups everyone can join. Highly recommend!

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read the ARC for this book. This book is an adorable way to help kids understand prime numbers and remainders when using division. Children can also learn about how to be inclusive and what they can do when they are feeling left out.

What a creative way to teach children about prime numbers. I didn’t find the book flowed well, but I enjoyed the lesson and illustrations!

Math, emotional intelligence, and problem solving are all topics covered by this cute picture book about a class of reindeer that grew form 12 to 13 causing an upset to the normal division of the schooldays activities.

Loved the pictures and the story. Originally they had a class of 12 reindeers, but today is 13. The reindeers learn that is a prime number and what that means. Throughout the day they break into groups for projects but find there is always one reindeer left out. This is unacceptable to all of them. Highly recommend because of the math and wanting to include everyone.

Having an education degree in addition to middle school mathematics, I was looking forward to reading this book. And it did not didappoint! I instantly fell in love with this book, the lessons it teachs, as well as the illustrations! Great way to teach about prime numbers to a younger audience, how to solve problems when friends feel left out, and many more! Highly recommend!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book provided by the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a fun book to read with my son. He is too young to understand prime numbers and remainders, but he still really enjoyed the book. He stayed engaged until the last page. He really enjoyed the rhyming text and cute reindeer. This book is a fun way to teach about both math and emotions.
