Another winner from Daniel Hurst! This has been such a fun series to read. I love the plot building and twists and his books keep me hooked when it’s hard to keep my attention these days. Highly recommend for true escape reads!

I really enjoyed the books I’ve read by Daniel! I always expect lots of twists and turns when I read his books and this one certainly delivered that! I was so excited when I found out there was a third book! I do believe this can be read as a stand alone but the first two are great, I would definitely recommend reading them before this one. I enjoyed the two points of view, the wife Fern and the mistress Alice. I really was not expecting the ending! I would definitely recommend this book!
Thank you NetGalley, Daniel and Bookouture for the ARC!

Daniel Hurst does a great job in creating a third book in the Doctor’s Wife series, it had what I enjoyed from the previous two books. The characters felt like they were supposed to and enjoyed how well the thriller elements worked.

I just recently found Daniel Hurst but let me tell you- I finished this series (The doctor’s wife, widow and mistress) within 4 days! I can’t wait for book 4 (The doctor’s baby)

This is a very unusual book I picked up attracted by the description of the book. The book is about a wife on the run for killing her husband on confirmation of infidelity. and a few others who came in the way. She also manages to implicate his paramour for the killing for which the lover is jailed and later released. Now the protagonist has changed her name and appearance to escape the law, gets pregnant, and has to manage a newborn baby. Coincidently, the paramour also becomes pregnant at the same time and gives birth to a baby. Both are struggling to manage their family and both are looking for each other to take revenge. The writing style is very dry and to a large extent boring and it required a great effort to go through the book. Not my type of book where I prefer fast action whereas the plot barely moves and the detailed description of the personal troubles and fears one goes through is pretty depressing. This book may interest a select audience but on the whole, I found it very tedious.

This is the third book in the ongoing Doctors series. And I usually advocate that you can read any book in a series, I do think this one is better read as part of the series. Without the history, I am not sure if this one will be as compelling.

Alice and Fern are back and I got to see what the two of them are up to. Alice is seeking out Fern to right the past wrongs and get justice, while Fern is trying to move forward and put her past behind her. The complex cat and mouse game continues, but can a common problem break that cycle.

I am not sure that I’ve ever like Alice and Fern, but can say I definitely don’t at this point, but I was all in for this continuing saga. Both women are strong willed and a little clever and I wanted to know who might eventually come out on top. While the books are short, over the series, I feel I’ve gotten to know the characters pretty well. I’m invested in the outcome. And the author is so good at shocking twists that I never see coming.

I’ve had access to the audiobooks in the series and this is perfect on audio. Luke R. Francis, Sarah Durham do a terrific job bringing the story to life. And the nature of it was perfect to listen to on my walks and while doing other things. The story is complex enough to keep my interest but not so overwhelming that I had to concentrate to keep the facts straight.

I would say there was a satisfying conclusion to this story, that I would never have predicted, but in pulling the details for this post, I see there is a fourth book in the series coming out next year. I can’t wait to see what the author has dreamed up now. And you have plenty of time to catch up on the series and be ready for this new adventure. Join the fun and pick this one up.

The Doctor’s Mistress is book #3 in this series and I do believe you can read it as a stand alone but I did love the first 2 books in this series. I want to thank NetGalley and the publisher for both the audio version and the kindle version of this book. I tried listening to it first on audio but was getting so confused between the 2 women because they used the same narrator for both. I decided to switch over to the kindle version and was able to follow that one much easier.

I didn't read Book 1 or 2 so I was a bit lost. But clearly the book is a psychological thriller and it's a revenge plot. Fast paced story written by the author. I need to go and read book 1 and 2 so I can enjoy this one fully. Lots of recap that kind of helped me catch up with what occurred in the previous books in the series.

It's quite an interesting ready tho. Cat and mouse plot with revenge. Reminds me of a few shows in Hollywood.

The perfect way to round out the series! These are my top favorite Daniel Hurst books and the reason I started reading them at all!! You definitely want to read these in order and won’t regret picking them up! I just heard there is another planned and I will be picking it up!

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC!

On this third installment of The Doctor’s Wife, we have Fern and Alice, both with new babies in tow. Fern lives in hiding, fearful of being discovered and caught. She regrets her choices and only wants to live her life in peace and for her child.

Alice, new mother of the late Dr. Devlin’s daughter, is living her life with Detective Tomlin, her boyfriend. Alice dreams of revenge on Fern. Wishing her to be caught and brought to justice. She hires a detective that fails her, unknowing that her boyfriend has his own private investigator trying to find Fern.

Fern is discovered by her neighbor friend, who tries to steal her baby in exchange for keeping her secret. Fern tries to run with her daughter and runs right into Alice, who has found where she hides. Neighbor kidnaps Alice’s daughter and Fern helps find her and gets her daughter back, even to her own demise, knowing she risks going to jail and being parted from her baby. Fern has learned from her mistakes and has changed. Alice sees this and lets her go.

A fast paced, thrilling story or murder, revenge and forgiveness. I really enjoyed this book and found it be the best in this series!

Finally here is the third installment of the doctor’s wife series! It probably works as a standalone but I definitely suggest to read the first two installments as well.

The story continues with the drama between Fern who was Dr. Drew Devlin’s wife and Alice who was Dr. Drew Devlin’s mistress. One was living in the dark and another one was non-stop tracking her down.

Exciting and super fast-paced story which I was hooked at the beginning. The story then went to the mind-blowing ending…!

Day one of catching up with book tours and reviews after getting my tablet, and especially all my data, recovered. Today I’m sharing my thoughts on The Doctor’s Mistress as part of the book tour hosted by Bookouture. My thanks to them for my spot on the tour, for their patience, and to NetGalley for my copy of the book.

𝗠𝗬 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪

The Doctor’s Mistress is book three of four in The Doctor’s Wife series, and while it covers all the salient points of the previous books, I honestly believe it should be read as part of the series or you will definitely miss out on the exceptional backstory and context. I had high expectations when I started this book which were met and surpassed. I loved this book!

We follow Alice, Doctor Drew Devlin’s mistress who was framed for his murder by the guilty party, his own wife Fern, now in hiding in Cornwall. Released from prison after new evidence proved her innocence, Alice wants revenge on the woman who tore her world apart.

This gripping third instalment had me from the first chapter and didn’t let go until I finished. I had my own ideas about how this would all go down and got it completely wrong. I was thrilled with the ending which again I didn’t see coming.

Overall, this is the best in the series which I recommend to all readers of thrillers, but especially when read with books one and two. I gave The Doctor’s Mistress five stars and cannot wait to read book four The Doctor’s Daughter.

Fern is on the run, but now with Greg's baby. Her old life is very far behind her, and she has a new identity. She wants to start again, but that may not be as easy as she wants it to be.

Alice is out of jail but has given birth to the Dr Drews baby. She's struggling as a first-time mum as well as from her past. Fern is still out there and she needs to make sure she faces justice.

This is written through multiple character points of view, giving the reader several angles to this narrative.
The issue I had with this novel is that it was very repetitive in places. this didn't take away from the narrative, but I found that it did take away from the pace of the novel. Hurst gives us suspense and intrigue throughout with a twist I hadn't expected.

This is the third novel within this specific series,a and I would recommend reading the first two books first, as there are references to the previous books.
This novel will be captured from the first page and is not one to miss.

He’s at it again with another book in this intense #TheDoctorsWifeseries! Somehow
#DanielHurst has created this series where I’m rooting for a “bad guy.” Once again, I found myself pulling for Fern to not get caught and be able to finally have a chance at a good life. This is a truly addictive #psychologicalthriller that I read super quickly!

And again - Luke R. Francis & Sarah Durham did a brilliant job narrating the audiobook!

Thank you, Daniel Hurst, Bookouture Audio, Bookouture, & Netgalley for my copy! All opinions are my own.

The Doctor's Mistress is the third in the Doctor's Wife series and a most anticipated read for me.

Narrated from multiple POV, Hurst takes us on another twisty, tense journey as we catch up with the newly released Alice, as she vows to avenge Fern, the Doctor's wife.

I'm already signed up to go on tour with Bookouture when the next exciting installment, The Doctor's Child is published in the new year and I can't wait!

The Doctor's Mistress is book 3 in this series. Looking forward to book 4 "The Doctor's Child."

Now onto "The Doctor's Mistress" which is a gripping and intense tale that delves into the lives of two women entangled in a web of deceit, betrayal, and ultimately, revenge.

After reading the first 2 books you obviously know the wonderful relationship Alice and Fern have (insert sarcasm here).

The story is infused with an evident sense of tension and desperation as the ex-mistress, Alice, determined to seek justice sets out on a path of vengeance against Fern, the cunning and manipulative ex-wife.

The book explores themes of love, betrayal, and the lengths one will go to seek retribution. The suspense builds steadily, leaving readers eager to uncover the truth and witness the ultimate showdown between the wife and the mistress.

The book is a tale of revenge, redemption, and the resilience of the human spirit.

Thank you Bookouture and Daniel Hurst for the ARC

Cornwall

Alice became the mistress of Dr. Drew Devlin. His wife, Fern, found out and killed him making it look like Alice did it. When Alice was found guilty, she spent some time in prison. That is until some other murders occurred all of which pointed directly to Fern, along with Drew’s murder, making her a wanted serial killer. Now, Alice is out of prison and has given birth to Drew’s baby named Evelyn. She is having difficulty coping with caring for Evelyn and is helped out by Tomlin, a detective who wrongly arrested Alice for Drew’s murder. Fern has managed to get some fake identity and is living in a tiny flat with her own daughter by Drew she has named Cecelia.

Alice is bent on finding Fern and seeing her thrown in prison for her crimes. Tomlin has a detective friend that he has asked to search for Fern and hopes he is successful. Alice’s restlessness is mostly due to her search for revenge on Fern. When Tomlin learns of Fern’s alias name, Alice is determined to find the woman herself and not let the police do it. Not a good idea.

I find that Daniel Hurst’s are hit and miss for me. That one was a little on the miss side, however, the story is good and I’m sure readers will enjoy the tension.

Copy provided by NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.
