A brilliant read with many believable characters, this series gets better with each new book. I look forward to reading more

From the offset this book had the tension amped to maximum. It was obvious that something had happened back when the group of girls were back at university. It had a detrimental effect on them then and has shaped their lives ever since. I would recommend that nobody joins a sorority or fraternity, it seems to leave you open to all manner of psychopath. Typically these girls were in denial about the whole thing, I was screaming at my kindle screen, "just talk to each other' Of course that would leave us with no story. I love the relationship between Casey and Jericho, he is so supportive of everything she does even to packing up and leaving his beloved Outer Banks and moving to Philadelphia. He is the only person she can talk to about her search for her long ago abducted daughter Hannah and how it has shaped her life. This was a really enjoyable read which has left me eagerly anticipating the next one.

This book is number 10 in the series. Loved this book. There was so much going on. Loved the plot, new one for me so it was refreshing. It was unpredictable, and I like that in a book.

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving this ARC in exchange my opinion.

This book is a gripping and heart-wrenching thriller that will keep me on the edge of my seats until the very last page. It is well-developed and complex characters. B.R. The pacing is excellent, with just the right amount of tension and suspense to keep me turning the pages. In conclusion, it is a must-read for fans of thrillers and crime fiction. With its well-crafted characters, gripping plot, surely to stay with you long after you've turned the final page. B.R. Spangler has proven to be a talented and promising author, and I can't wait to see what books in store for us next. Highly recommend.

This is book number 10 in the Detective Casey White series. It was a great read and I look forward to catching up on the rest of the series very soon!

Outer Banks, North Carolina is known for its beautiful ocean scenery and people come from all over to enjoy the area. While a group of sorority sisters plan a reunion and enjoy a dive, one of the members won’t be leaving alive.

Detective Casey White receives a call to investigate a suspicious death when a woman dies during an ocean dive. She has a bruise on her ankle – did someone kill her or was her death a tragic accident?

Along with her fiancé, Jericho, Casey will attempt to get to the bottom of the case. She will have to dive herself, as the crime scene is underwater. Will she find any evidence?

The killer doesn’t want them to investigate and targets Casey and her team. Will she be able to solve the case before anyone else becomes a victim?

Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Engaging murder mystery.

This murder mystery set in North Carolina is told from the protagonist, Detective Casey White’s, first-person perspective/ POV. This allows an immersive read in the whodunnit.

Karol Witney is scuba diving in North Carolina’s Outer Banks in the prologue, when the reader witnesses her gruesome death. Even in a murder mystery, this is a bit too detailed. Karol was on a reunion as one of eight sorority sisters.
Detective Casey leads the investigation with her team. She soon realises that this isn’t a drowning as reported. Supported by her technical colleague and husband Jericho, Casey uncovers clues, along with the red herrings that enticingly lead to a satisfying whodunnit. We also meet Casey’s daughter, Tracy.

There are indications that Karol suffered domestic abuse, so that when her husband turns up, he is an immediate suspect. Then another body turns up.
Although the tenth in the series, it is my first by the author. While at times I didn’t understand some relationships or context from earlier books, this didn’t detract from my reading pleasure. I found the characters engaging, the police procedural involving. The associations among some of the characters requires a mild suspension of belief. The novel is page-turning, with twists and turns, and a thrill factor.

Detective Casey White book 10.

I absolutely love this series and I couldn't wait to get back to the Outer Banks. As usual I was hooked from start to finish. And I want to read more.

As the sun rises over North Carolina’s Outer Banks, eight sorority sisters gather on the docks, excited to start their reunion weekend with a diving excursion. But when only seven of them return to the boat alive, Detective Casey White is the first person to investigate.

Confused as to why she’s been called to what appears to be a tragic accident, her heart stops when she notices fresh hand-shaped bruises on the victim’s ankles. Karol Witney was murdered. But with a crime scene and any evidence thirty feet underwater, Casey knows this will be her most challenging case yet.

Absolutely unputdownable! Could there be a better story line? Murder, treasure and some seriously awesome characters. I love Casey White and this book was a home run. It starts off at breakneck speed and races with twists and turns until the final shocking moments. I adore the ocean and the atmosphere in this book really grabbed my attention. The story was unique and well written. This one is like a rollercoaster start to finish. Simply brilliant. A must read for all you suspense and mystery junkies like myself. You will not be sorry you picked this one up. And you will not be able to put it down!

Casey White finds herself trying to figure out how Karol Witney drowned. It clearly wasn't an accident and when Casey's fiance, Jericho, is also attacked, it starts to feel very personal indeed. Then Karol's abusive husband turns up soon after her body is found, not even giving Casey enough time to phone him to let him know what happened, which also raises her suspicions. Why was he not at home, was he following his wife?

Karol's sorority sisters were on the dive with her, so how come none of them saw anything? Too busy posing for pics on Insta, perhaps?

There are lots of things going on, with this case. And Casey, along with her daughter Tracy, must try to untangle all the threads.

4.5 stars from me. I really like the characters in this book.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture.

A group of sorority sisters go diving together. But one woman never returns, dying before she reaches the surface. Detective Casey White's investigation is hampered by no crime scene, no witnesses and no evidence pointing to a killer...
Our Sister's Grave is the 10th book in the Casey White detective thriller series set in America.
Karol Witney dies underwater and so there is no crime scene for the detectives to investigate. The post mortem reveals a history of abuse and her husband is a cop. A murder investigation is launched but the detectives have little to go on. It soon becomes clear that someone wants to stop Casey and her team from fiding the truth.
There is huge danger and drama for the main characters and three of the team almost die in the first third of the book in car and diving incidents. The book is written from Casey's first person perspective so we have knowledge of her emotions and deductive processes as the case proceeds.
On the personal side of Casey's life, she is adjusting to life as a foster family. This subplot follows on directly from the last book. There are warm emotions that soften the tone of the book overall, although Casey and Jericho experience the worries that all parents face. Casey is also reminded of all she has lost out on with her biological daughter who was kidnapped.
Our Sister's Grave is a dramatic and action packed detective thriller.

Spangler does it again with an action packed adventure!

A sorority sister reunion ends with deadly consequences, and a full mystery surrounding the death ensues. Casey and her team are quick to follow leads, and as always, danger follows them at every turn.

I’ve followed the detective Casey white series from the beginning, and this one was as exceptional as the previous books. It had me on the edge of my seat and flying through the pages to see what would happen next. Spangler always manages to pull a full range of emotions from me, and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC in exchange for my honest feedback!

This one blew me away. This far into the series each story is fresh and intriguing. I am invested in these characters and I love the direction things are going. The mystery kept me guessing and I was stunned by the reveal. I was so far off on my guess. I enjoy an author who can still surprise me.

So I've been reading this series since book four and appear to have missed book nine however this book contained enough detail to bring me up to speed.

This one has an interesting crime scene which added depth (excuse the pun) and help to create and build the tension.

Casey is a likeable character as she's very real and it's nice to have an insight into her personal and professional life.

Another great edition to this engaging series

I feel like I’m saying this a lot more about detective series, but this one gets personal when Casey puts herself in harms way. I liked the shipwreck at the bottom of the ocean as the crime scene and the potential treasure. That’s definitely a first for me. And I was kept guessing through the twists and red herrings.

While this one can be read as a stand alone as the author fills in any pertinent information, I love watching the characters and relationships grow in these longer running detective series. From book to book, I get to see more character development and almost feel like I know them. And this case is complex and layered and as Casey uncovers the clues and the danger escalated, I did not want to put it down.

If you like police procedurals and haven’t read this series, I really do recommend it. I’m never disappointed.

Eight Sorority sisters meeting up for some fun
But one will be dead before the day is done.
Detective Casey White is called to investigate
Was it an accident - but no, just wait.
Fresh bruises on the victim's ankles show
This was no accident, no, no, no!

What she never expected to discover
Is now she and her team are targets of another.
The killer is out there watching the team
And nothing about the case is quite as it would seem.
With another death the pressures increase
Only when they're caught will it cease.

A riveting read, filled with suspense and twists
Making readers search for clues that could be missed.
A real page turner that keeps you enthralled throughout
As the pieces help relate what it is all about.
Great storytelling, a thrilling case, too,
I've no hesitation highly recommending it to you.

When Detective Casey White is called to the scene of what she thinks is a drowning, she is as surprised as anyone that the death of Karol Witney is not an accident. Determined to find her killer, even if it means risking her own life, Casey gets tech support from the new office employee as well as help from her colleague Tracy and her husband Jericho. The pace is fast, with more clues being given as well as red herrings and false trails. There is a lot of family drama, too, as Jericho is gravely injured in his desire to help Casey solve the case. I enjoyed getting to know the characters better. Although this is the tenth book in the series, it is only the second one that I have read and although I felt at times that I was missing some information that had been in previous books, I did not think that it took away from my thorough enjoyment of this one. The characters are dynamic and relatable, the plot is realistically portrayed and written in a way that drew me into the story methodically and relentlessly. Part police procedural and part mystery, this book is not to be missed by fans who enjoy good detectives who put it all on the line to solve the crime.
