I have mixed feelings with this book, a kind of love and hate feeling.
But the book is a fun and easy read and I think it’s worth a read!:)

I love:
-the chemistry between the two and how they alway bicker and test each other with their coding/hacking skills
-that the MMC is Hawaiian and it’s not just a random fact about him but he lives his culture to the fullest and shows pride in it
-the family dynamics of Hoyts family & Vega and her girlfriends
-the premise of the book as I have never read about this topic before
-that the author put effort into researching the right terms & wording for all the coding/hacking stuff

I „hate“: (hate is a strong word, so I dislike:)
-that the same conflict comes up all the time.. there’s only one thing they argue about and it gets repetitive
-the words the author uses during the spicy scenes… like wtf is a pelvic bowl, every scene Vegas „pelvic bowl clenches“.. please use sexier words??? Also buttocks, just call it a butt or ass or sth please
-Vega‘s stalkerish behavior, she literally breaks into Hoyts house and rolls around in his sheets and follows him around town taking pictures just because she romantically likes him.. red flag
-project Valkyrie is such a big part of Vega‘s life but we never really dive deep into the mechanics of it, so it just seems a bit random
-the pages count, I feel like the story could have been a lot shorter if we avoided the repeated conflicts and scenes of Hoyt & Vega talking about binary codes

All in all it’s a solid book with a good storyline and great chemistry between MMC & FMC, but there are just a few minute things that could be better/fixed.

This book was an absolute pleasure to read. It was so well written. The engagement between Flux and Hoyt was in a word, addictive. I wanted more of the two of them! I can see this book becoming either a movie or TV series.

Becky did an amazing job infusing some Hawaiian spirituality and culture into this book. It added a layer of solace to the story and uplifts the reader during the more cruel and severe parts. I found myself wishing Flux was real, I wanted to be her friend and offer her support.

I highly recommend this book. It has the perfect combination of dual-POV, grumpy billionaire/former pro-sports player and girl girl from the wrong side of the tracks who happens to be a brilliant hacker with a conscience.

4.5 Stars!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Becky Banks for sending me the ARC of this book!

This book was definitely different from others that I read - but it was a quick and fun read. I couldn’t help but imagine Lisbeth Salander every time the author described Vega. Vega Flux is an infamous online hacker who loves to get women out of bad situations. She is incredibly skilled at her job even though she often crosses the line of what’s legal.

Enter Hoyt - an athletic tech billionaire who seems too good to be true. He is known for his impenetrable web security for his company. Which of course, interests Vega right away.

What starts as a friendly challenge blossoms into a lot more.

The plot line of this one was just a little too far-fetched for me. I did really like the characters but some of the tech lingo was a little distracting.

I really enjoyed the humor of this story. The characters are very likable and relatable. I would definitely recommend to a friend. There is some technical language that I feel doesn't mesh well but otherwise it's an enjoyable quick read!

Prepare yourself for a rollercoaster of emotions in Flux, a scintillating romance thriller that defies conventions and sets the pages ablaze with passion and intrigue. In a genre often criticized for predictable plotlines and stereotypical characters, Becky Banks breaks free from the mold, delivering a sizzling narrative featuring two compelling anti-heroes that readers will find themselves both loving and relating to.

The story revolves around the enigmatic duo of yummy Hoyt and spicy Vega, whose complex personalities add layers of depth to the narrative. Both characters are beautifully flawed, existing in the gray areas of morality that make them intriguing and relatable. Their chemistry is palpable from the first encounter, creating a magnetic pull that keeps the reader eagerly turning the pages.

The plot is a masterful blend of steamy romance and thriller, with action and (*blush), and the end was heart pounding! The author skillfully weaves a web of suspense, keeping readers on the edge of their seats as the protagonists navigate a world where danger and desire collide. The pacing is well-executed, ensuring that the tension never wavers, and the stakes remain high until the very end.

What sets Flux apart is the meticulous attention to character development within the romance genre. Both Hoyt and Vega undergo significant growth throughout the story, grappling with their demons and making choices that are as morally ambiguous as they are captivating. It's a refreshing departure from the cookie-cutter romance formulas, proving that romance can be a vehicle for compelling storytelling.

While the steamy scenes are undeniably electric, the author doesn't rely solely on passion to carry the narrative. The supporting cast is also noteworthy, each character contributing to the overall richness of the story.

Although Flux is a riveting read with much to offer, a four-star rating reflects a few moments where the pacing felt slightly rushed, and certain plot points could have been explored in greater detail. With a plot storyline immersed in tech, sometimes the actions of both the MC's get confusing. Nevertheless, these minor quibbles don't overshadow the overall excellence of the book.

In conclusion, Flux is a testament to the fact that romance can be a powerful and engaging genre when approached with skill and creativity. Fans of steamy thrillers will find themselves captivated by the alluring dance between love and danger. With its unique characters, well-crafted plot, and an enticing blend of passion and suspense, this novel earns its four stars and secures its place as a must-read for those seeking a romance that transcends the ordinary.

This is not a story of love failing or ending, this is a story of love not always conquering all, and of the life choices we make for us and for those we love the most. A must-read.
