This was a great continuation to the Sleepover series. I definitely was not expecting the killer to be the person(s) revealed. I love Leah's character, she has so many of her own secrets that she is always trying to figure out if her secrets are coming out or the mystery is just naturally moving in her direction.

Will there be another story in this series? Or will it remain a duology?

Three teenage boys go missing and Leah is reminded of the disappearance of her own friends 25 years ago...
After The Sleepover is a psychological thriller set in the UK. It is a sequel to The Sleepover but works perfectly well as a standalone novel. There are NO SPOILERS despite multiple references to Leah knowing the truth about her friends' disappearance.
Leah is called over by someone she barely knows. Jennifer's son and two friends have vanished during a sleepover and she calls on Leah to support her due to Leah's own experience from the past. The police have no clues but Leah uncovers a range of suspects from the odd neighbour to Jennifer's allegedly abusive ex.
I loved the drama of the plot. A child going missing is every parent's nightmare but three kids at once when you are letting them have some freedom is almost worse. There was a brilliant tension as Leah compares and contrasts the past with the present. Her confusion and fear felt authentic and increased the tense atmosphere.
In the personal life subplot, Leah confronts her past by making contact with her father who has been in and out of prison. Her mixed emotions were portrayed sympathetically and added to the depth of her character.
After The Sleepover is a tense and emotional psychological thriller.

A brilliant read, very addictive. I enjoyed her other ones and this one was just as good, if not better. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

Absolutely loved this, not that long since I read the first book so was still quite fresh in my mind, although could be read as a stand alone, I loved the story and couldn't figure out what was going to happen, I also enjoyed the relationship leah has with her dad it was interesting to see it develop from the first book. Excellent read and will certainly read more from this author

25 yrs ago, Leah participated in a sleepover with three friends where the friends disappeared without a trace. Today, three boys, the same age as Leah was then and her son is now, have disappeared after a camping trip. Kerry Wilkinson is well known for hiding the killer in plain site and letting her readers guess again every other chapter. Leah's friends were never found but she's not going to let that happen this time. She will find out exactly what happened and who is behind it.

Thank you to NetGalley, Kerry Wilkinson, and Bookouture for an ARC copy of "After the Sleepover".

I didn't realize that this was a follow-up book to "The Night of the Sleepover". It can be read as a stand-alone but I think it would be better to read it after the first book.

"After the Sleepover" unfolds with a gripping intensity as it explores the chilling disappearance of three children, echoing a haunting incident from twenty-five years ago.

The story was full of suspense, intrigue and twists. This book was easy to read and entertaining. I recommend adding it to your list of must-reads.

I don’t read much fiction, but the title and synopsis intrigued me. Suspense is maintained throughout the book. Several times it had me guessing and thinking, “who’s lying”. The ending was more than satisfying. A job well done!

A great follow up book to The Night of the Sleepover.
Three boys go missing after a night camping out in a field at the back of one of their homes.
The next day, there is no trace of them. Could history be repeating itself?
I have enjoyed every single book by Kerry Wilkinson, and look forward to his next book.
They are well written, and are an easy read.

I had no idea what to expect when I started reading this and wasn't sure how Wilkinson was going to further the story. Yes it was along the same vein as its predecessor, but this time round the focus is on three missing boys.

Characters from the previous book are integral to the plot, so I would advise you read The Sleepover before reading this one, otherwise you'll lose out on context.

It was like an early Christmas, they're were so many layers to unwrap, red herrings and it wouldn't be the same without there being one final twist...its book three imminent I wonder?

Well written, enjoyable and entertaining

Thank you Netgalley and Kerry Wilkinson for the ARC of After the Sleepover.

After reading The night of the Sleepover ( highly recommended ) I was curious to read After the sleepover.. You could read this as I stand alone but id definitely recommend reading The night of the sleepover first.

The main character in both books are from Leah's POV, a late 30s mom of Zac who's 15 yrs old. At her sons age, she experienced a sleepover with her friends, 3 of them vanished that night without a trace. And its happened again.
Leah gets asked to go and see one of the mums of one of the teens, Dylan. who go missing, Jennifer reached out to Leah due to being old school friends so Leah knows what Jennifer is going through. Going forward they strike some sort of bond and try and fathom out why teenagers keep going missing.

This books was a little slow to start but gave into some momentum , There's a fair few twisty turns and some clever foreshadowing which I really enjoyed. The new characters introduced into this book were great, well rounded and 3D, I do however feel they could have been built a little more to make them more fleshy .

A solid 4 stars and will be picking more of Kerry Wilkinsons books up in the future.

Superb!!!!

After the Sleepover by Kerry Wilkinson and Narrated by Olivia Darnely is the second book in the Sleepover series and I have really enjoyed this series. It was another gripping psychological suspense book and very hard to put down once I started to listen/read it. Kerry has a way of writing that I love, all his books have been a 5 star read and this book was no different.

Dylan’s wide eyed mother bites her nails in desperation. “All three kids. just wanted to sleep outside, their little adventure to camp in a field next to their family homes, what harm could that do?
The next morning, she went to check on them, she walks up to the tents and she smiles to herself, as she see's on the outside of the tents, dew glistening in the sun and looks like diamonds. But when she opens the zip to their tents they are empty.

"They’re gone!!!!”

Where are they, did they all go and visit other friends and didn't tell Dylan's mum? or did they go back into the house because they were cold!

A mothers worst nightmare.....

WoW, but twenty-five years ago...........Teenage Leah had a sleepover with her three best friends. However by morning, the other girls were missing.

Where are they? Have they played a trick on Leah?

This small town has been searching for answers ever since and they were never found! Now it’s happened all over again…......

The overgrown farmland is searched. With three distraught families wait and are desperate for news of their sons.
Leah, who is now a mother herself, feels her heart is going to break as terrible memories flood back…......of when she was a teenager......and it happened to her friends!

Leah thought she knew what happened at the sleepover years ago but now another three children are missing.

What if she was wrong?

And how far will Leah have to go, to finally discover the truth, before it’s too late?

But, the clock is ticking..........and breathe

This book was excellent and can be read as a standalone as well.

I highly recommend After the Sleep over. Another 5 star read/audiobook.

Big Thank you to Netgalley to Bookouture for my ARC in exchange for an honest unbiased review.

After The Sleepover is the second book in this mini series, I haven’t read the first one and I don’t think it impacted reading the second as a stand-alone in any way.
25 years ago Leah had a sleepover with her friends, all of them were missing in the morning but only Leah was found, no one ever knew what happened to her friends. Now on the anniversary 3 boys have gone missing, only their tents are left behind in a field owned by one of the boys families.
This was a twisty read that I enjoyed from start to finish, there were lots of ways this could have gone and I enjoyed the overall ending. The tension definitely builds the more you delve in making this hard to put down.
I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.

I wish I had known this was book 2 of a series as I’d have started with book 1, however on that note this book can be read as a stand alone and after reading after the sleepover and enjoying it so much I will certainly be going back and reading the night of the sleepover which is book 1.

25 years ago Leah had a sleepover with 3 of her friends. When Leah woke in the morning her 3 friends had gone and still to this day their dissaperance remains a mystery.

Fast forward 25 years and the same thing has happened again. Dylan and his friends had a sleepover and they wanted to sleep in the garden, when Jennifer went to check on her son and his friends the following morning all 3 boys had gone without a trace.

Understanding what Jennifer is going through she is befriended by Leah who helps her through this difficult time, however Leah is keeping a secret. She thinks she knows exactly what happened to her friends 25 years ago, however now that history is repeating itself Leah cannot be 100% sure. One thing she does know though is that she wants answers and that she is going to find them no matter what it takes.

I was hooked on after the sleep over right from the first page. It was fast paced, twisty and addictive. Everything you want in a good thriller. I found this book very easy to read and very easy to follow. I will be on the lookout for more books by Kerry Wilkinson.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for an advance copy of this book in exchange for this review.

ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT! And YES all caps are needed!
I loved the first book - but this one. Wowzah. Another level.
A local boy and his friends have sleepover. No one can find them the next day. Dylan's mother insists Leah come support her - though they are not friends. Leah gets pulled into the drama.
Dylan returns - claiming the same man who took Leah's friends and killed them all those years ago has returned.
But Leah knows the truth about her friends. But does she?
Riveting. Chilling. Gasp out loud.

I really enjoyed the first book in their series and just finished it last week so it was fresh on my mind when I saw this ARC available. I was really excited to start this and thought it had a lot of promise. However the audio ARC i received is not complete so I cannot give an honest detailed review. It cut off about 22 chapters in and ended abruptly with no explanation. Thank you to NetGalley for this (almost) opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

3.5⭐️

25 years ago 3 girls are at a sleepover and go missing. They are never seen again. On the night of a documentary about that awful night, the same things happens. 3 boys go missing while camping outside one of their houses.

I was surprised at how little was mentioned from book 1. I would recommend reading that one to get a better background going into book 2.

Like book 1, I was shocked at the big twist and ending. I didn’t see it coming but the reasoning behind what happens makes sense.

**4.5-stars**

After the Sleepover is the sequel in Kerry Wilkinson's Sleepover series. I finished the first book, I think it was yesterday, it's all been a bit of a blur, and immediately started this one, flying through and finishing it tonight. I'm slightly obsessed with this series right now and have spent the entire afternoon wondering if we are going to be getting more. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

This story follows Leah Pearce, who is a bit infamous in her small hometown. Twenty-five years ago, she attended a sleepover with three of her best friends. They did the stuff teen girls typically do at a sleepover, went to sleep, all was well, but in the morning only Leah remained.

The other three girls had disappeared. As the survivor, the town had mixed reactions to Leah. Some believed she had to have information that she wasn't sharing. How could she have slept through three girls disappearing?! Others felt she was an unfortunate girl, who just got lucky that night. Certainly she was deserving of sympathy.

All these years later a documentary has been made about the incident, bringing Leah back into the limelight. She never wanted any of that and will be happy when people move on to someone else's tragedy. Then three boys go missing during a sleepover where they were tenting out in a field by one of their homes. The mother of one of the missing boys, Jennifer, asks the police to get Leah for her, to stay with her during the subsequent search. She tells them that she and Leah are friends.

Leah is surprised. She knows Jennifer, it's a small town, and they're the same age, but she wouldn't say they were friends. Nor have they ever been. Nevertheless, she feels compelled to go and be with Jennifer in her time of need. She figures Jennifer reached out to her because who else knows more about missing teenagers than her?

The subsequent investigation makes Leah question a lot of things, even her own past. As she is tied together now with Jennifer, Leah finds herself smack in the middle of it all over again. Will the truth be revealed and is there a connection to Leah's own troubled past?

I found these two books so incredibly addictive. Wilkinson's writing is fluid and engaging. I felt like I've really gotten to know Leah over the course of this series. As mentioned before, I am seriously hoping this isn't the end of her story.

I ended up enjoying this even more than the first book. It had a different level of intensity to it. I think mainly because in The Night of the Sleepover the missing girls are in the past perspective. What has happened to them is already done, there's no changing it. Yet in this story, the boys that have gone missing, it's a race against the clock to try to figure out what happened. They can still be saved. I felt like all of the different elements of the story were blended perfectly together.

You still get aspects of Leah's life outside of the latest case of missing teens. She has stuff going on in her personal life, a hidden relationship, her Dad getting released from prison and getting married, that are equally compelling and I liked going through that with her.

I also found her relationship with Jennifer gripping. Jennifer was an great character. I was hesitant with her from the start. She seemed so, I don't know, almost in awe of Leah. Like she wanted to be close to her for the wrong reasons, or like she was trying to manipulate something. It built up a very interesting dynamic and I love how Wilkinson wrote that budding friendship. It was enthralling and had me flying through the pages.

This had a great conclusion. It could go either way. I could be satisfied with this being the end, or I can also see many avenues where Wilkinson could continue to take this story. If there are more books coming in the Sleepover series, you better believe I will be first in line to get a copy.

Thank you so much to the publisher, Bookouture and Bookouture Audio, for providing me with copies to read and review. I'm so happy that I've found a new Thriller author to add to my auto-buy list!!

“Gone. They’re gone.”

No parent wants to hear those words after dropping their child off for a sleepover. After the Sleepover is an addictive, jaw dropping page turner! It's the follow up on Wilkinson's gripping and shocking book The Night of the Sleepover. I highly recommend reading The Night of the Sleepover prior to reading this book. It provides Leah's backstory and is a fantastic book!

Is it happening all over again? Twenty-five years ago, Leah was the only survivor of a sleepover where her three best friends went missing. She is now a parent, and her son attends school with the three teenage boys who go missing on a camping sleepover.

Kerry Wilkinson knows how to create tension and twist filled books. I could feel the fear, shock, and pain of the parents as they learned that their sons were missing. As the investigation begins, Leah doesn't want to be involved but the Investigators want to know if there is a connection between what happened the night of Leah's sleepover to the boy’s disappearance. One of her former classmates is the mother who hosted the camping sleepover on her farm, and she leans on Leah for support while waiting for answers.

This book had me feeling all kinds of emotions and I enjoyed coming up with my own suspect list while reading. Wilkinson kept me on my toes, while I was turning the pages and on the edge of my seat wanting more. I loved the tension, finger pointing, and twists in this book. The reveal was shocking and so well done. Once I picked my jaw up, I marveled at how well thought out this book was. After the Sleepover moves at a very nice pace and I appreciated that there was no down time in this book.

Well written, well thought out, tense and full of twists!

I was very happy to read After the Sleepover! I read The Sleepover not long ago and I was very interested in seeing how the author would make a sequel.

I think you probably do need to read The Sleepover first to really understand everything going on in After the Sleepover.

I thought Kerry described everyone and the farm very well. I could definitely picture the scenes as I was reading really well with his descriptions. There was an eerie feeling that I got every time Leah was around Jennifer and the farm, which I'm assuming was what he was going for, so well done.

As I was reading, I did have a feeling I knew where it was going but it still kept me interested. I never felt like it would end up on my DNR.

It was a really good sequel and I'm looking forward to what's next.

I don't think The Night of the Sleepover really needed a sequel, but I'm not mad that it got one. This was pretty good. Not quite as good as the first, but I enjoyed it.
