This is a magical Romeo and Juliet-esc story that leaves you wanting Volume 2!

Morgana is a naive and kind witch who has yet to master her skills. Oz is a young vampire. When a peace meeting between Morgana’s family and Oz’s clan goes awry, Morgana’s grandpa is missing and so is Oz, kind of.

Morgana and her new companion must work together to right some wrongs and Morgana starts on an adventure that could change everything. This was a really enjoyable read full of silly family dynamics and furry friends and I cannot wait to read Volume 2!

Thanks to Netgalley and Webtoon Unscrolled for my copy.

This book was FREAKING CUTE. It was very hard to read because every page had been watermarked but hopefully that won't be an issue in its final form and only bc it was an e-arc. I found everything about it so charming from the art style, to the concept of a witch and vampire clan that are enemies but it's hard to completely tell who's in the wrong, to our protagonist Morgana who is so loveably bad at magic. I didn't feel like I got to learn much about Oz in this first issue, but it is just that - a first volume. It also ends very abruptly and on a cliffhanger so it feels like more is needed to fully enjoy this story. Still, if you are a graphic novel person, this was lovely. Just be prepared to pick up the next books because this one does not resolve!

The artwork for Morgana and Oz is absolutely adorable and fits the vibes of the story perfectly. It gives Archie comics meets Studio Ghibli if that makes any sense to anyone but myself lol. Morgana is sweet and borderline naive and I just want all the things to work out for her.
I want to give little Mordecai and hug. He really seems like he wants the attention of his parents without having to beg for it.
Fingers crossed Morgana can figure out how to switch Oz back, there's definitely a connection. Can't wait to find out who the hot witch doctor is

A super light fun read with a mix of paranormal witches vs vampires.
Seems there’s a meeting gone wrong, a witch who’s clearly not got control of her magic and family politics to come.
Super cute art style and very excited to see the story unfold with that killer cliffhanger.

I devoured this in a matter of hours.

The story follows Morgana, a witch, who accidentally turns a vampire into a cat. When this fact is paired this with the fact that witches and vampires are sworn enemies, this accident does not spell well (pun not intended) for the tensions between both groups.

As this is the first comic, there is more of a focus on developing Morgana and Oz’ characters respectively. More so Morgana, and I loved seeing her story. She is such a compelling, charismatic character to read about. I really liked the way the author conveyed not only how her struggles with magic made her feel, but the way that her family contributed to it and shaped the way she thought about herself. Her and Oz had such a great dynamic.

On the mystery plotline I personally didn’t find anything that stuck out to me, but I’ll barely count that as feedback because, again, it’s just the first volume. Without spoiling it I’ll state that it does end on a semi-cliffhanger/revelation.

I can see myself choosing to continue the series specifically for Oz and Morgana, just because I loved them so much here/

Morgana is a member of a witch family in a long-standing feud with the Red Vampire Clan. In an attempt to reconcile, her family has invited the vampires over for dinner. While everyone is preparing for the meal, Morgana accidentally burns her dress while attempting to use magic to alter it. While disposing of the evidence, she stumbles upon two vampires standing guard. There, she meets Oz, a vampire.
As the dinner party commences, tensions rise, and an attack is launched. In a moment of panic, Morgana uses her magic to turn Oz into a cat. Now, she must find a way to reverse the spell and restore Oz to his original form. She also bears the responsibility of brokering peace between the witches and vampires.

I adored this book! It was a delightful and entertaining read that captivated me from start to finish. As soon as it is published, I am going to buy it!
The protagonist, Morgana, was a fascinating character that I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know. And let's not forget about Oz, who was simply adorable - especially when he was in his feline form.
The storyline was captivating and had me on the edge of my seat, eagerly anticipating what would happen next.
The stunning artwork featured a beautiful array of colors that enchanted the magical tale.

Overall, I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves tales of witches and mystical things. It was a beautifully crafted story that will leave you feeling enchanted and wanting more.

Happy Reading, Laly ❤️ 📚

Drawings. The drawings are different in this book from other manhwa and manga. The colours are more flat and one might say there was less effort put into, but I really like this unique art style. It doesn't always have to shine and look perfect, colours can be flat. And it gives the impression of a cartoon. It also gives a cozy feeling. I must say I am a fan of the drawing style.

It starts off right at the beginning with something interesting; The meeting of the vampires and witches. It already makes a reader excited to read more, especially when the two main characters met.

Oz got turned into a cat. That's funny. And cool. I like cats. And it gives the story its little extra.

Comedy in this book is actually funny. I try to restrain from comedy books, but this one has met right my taste. I like the clumsy comedy. And Morgana is more than perfect, as she is a clumsy witch who uses spells wrong or at the wrong moment. The facial expressions on some pages make it even funnier (page 153, for example, with Oz's eyes when he got squeezed).

Their relationship unfolds in such a nice and neat way. They didn't like eachother at first, but as time passes and Oz is tied to her, they both bond. It's really beautiful.

Ending is just perfect. Making the reader excited near the end with new scenes and twists and when a new character is introduced the chapter is over. So exciting!

Dislikes:

I am not sure if it's 'cause of the watermark, but every picture has such low quality that if ruins the drawings completely.

There was no room of explanation for anything. The story starts exciting, but without an explanation to what happened or any backstory. The pacing was more concentrated on, as well as the plot, than any explanations, so that the reader can understand it.

What to do for a higher rating:

There should be more explanation to everything and a bit of a slower pace 'cause of it, is completely fine. The story has potential, but we readers also need to understand the plot for us to have joy in reading it.

I binged read this in one sitting. It is an addictive story with very cute art style. I know this was originally a webtoon, so some of the pacing does align better for a week to week format. I dont necessarily think that is a bad thing though. It reads really easy, and it addicting. It left on such a cliffhanger, that I will be be popping over to webtoon to catch up on this story. Oz is such a good male lead. Morgana is everything. I like that her innocence does not make her child like. She is innocent, but still a strong character. I love this, and cannot wait to see where this story goes.

Okay I need to know what happens next! I really enjoyed this story and the artwork was very detailed and well done. I loved the colors and how it was made super clear who was a witch and who was a vampire.

Morgana is a sweet, clumsy witch who means well and Oz is a grumpy vampire — the grumpy part might be largely to do with being turned into a cat though. Their dynamic is cute and I love that they grow on each other. They wouldn’t be able to get to know each other like this if Morgana didn’t accidentally turn Oz into a cat at their first meeting.

I will say I was confused in the beginning because the story does pick up in what feels like the middle of things but that didn’t bother me. I expect we’ll get more background information in the upcoming volumes and I look forward to learning why the leader of the Red Vampire Clan hates Morgana’s family so much. And also what the cliffhanger is all about?? Overall it’s a fun, cozy, colorful fantasy with rival witch and vampire clans who are on the brink of a war with each other thanks to a negotiation meeting gone wrong. I look forward to seeing what’s in store next for Morgana and Oz and the rest of the characters.

This was a really fun story between a family of witches and a vampire clan. More specifically, Morgana from the family of witches, and Oz from the Red Vampire Clan.

The story does a good job of quickly filling the reader in on what is happening when we first meet the two different groups. There is a history between them, and things are tense.

Morgana is still struggling with her magic and because of a mishap, misses the dinner where everything goes wrong. While cleaning up her mess, she meets Oz, a vampire stationed outside the house, and their adventure together begins.

This is a graphic novel full of beautiful artwork and a spellbinding story. It captured my attention quickly and left me eager to find out what will happen in the volumes to come.

Title: Morgana and Oz Volume One By Miyuli

Release Date: September,24th 2024

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stars

“Morgana and Oz” tells the story of Morgana, a witch from a long line of magic practitioners, and Oz, a vampire from a rival clan. When their paths cross by chance, sparks fly, but their budding romance is threatened by the longstanding animosity between their two factions.

After a mishap involving Morgana's magic turns Oz into a cat, the two must navigate their feelings for each other while also preventing an all-out war between their coven and clan.

This paranormal romance remixes the timeless Romeo and Juliet saga with a sprinkle of magic, a dash of humor, and a forbidden love twist!

I truly enjoyed this first instalment. A great start to the series.

Morgana and Oz Vol 1 is a cozy fantasy graphic novel with a cute plotline following our itchy witch Morgana and the Vampire she gets saddled with after a crazy turn of events. The illustrations were really good, the detail, the colors, depiction of scenes- all A+. Some of the facial scenes were a tab bit extra (but that's just my personal preference)

My main bone of contention comes from the vague details concerning 60% of the book, I love when books throw us mid-scene, but I also kinda want some clarification midway so I can fully engross myself into the story. I kept waiting for things to be cleared up regarding the feud, the witch and vamp structure, holes in the plotline, etc. I will say the minimalism allowed the cuteness of the characters to shine, but a bit more context would have been stellar. Also, the watermark made it slightly difficult to read it because it was splayed across the page but I tried not to let that both me too much

This story is very cute and the illustrations are quite good. I finished it so much faster than I was expecting to and I really wish I could read more of it right now after that cliffhanger! This is a perfect story for anyone that loves witches and vampires and is game for a good and cute story!

I unfortunately just couldn't get into this one. It just throws you into the middle of things with no explanation, leaving my confused the whole time. What I could see of the artwork was cute.

This series has potential, but I'm sad that I saw all of that potbetial in the last handful of pages. The story starts off in the middle of something and we're not really given background information. While this can be done well, this book sort of muddles through that device making it frustrating at times to read. The lack of explanation for the world or the power systems or really anything for a first book in a series is shocking.
The characters are a little archetypal, but not too off putting. The art is gorgeous in still frames, the scenery is often amazing and full of bright and vibrant colour, wonderfully detailed. The main character designs are cute and fun, albeit a little plain compared to the right world the author creates. The panels where there is movement or facial expression aren't as well done and feel really over the top compared to the rest of the book which is incredibly toned down.
I'll admit, I wasn't into the plot and was going to give this a worse review until the last like 50 pages. The sudden repercussions from the dinner scene at the beginning were unexpected and added more to the story - gave it some of the ooompf it needed.
I'll read the next volume and hope it improves in the areas I feel it's lacking!

Ahh, I'm so excited that this is being published. The first volume is adorable and sets the scene and pending relationship between the two. I won't say much and spoil the story, but I'd recommend reading volume one and then checking out the title on Webtoon if you can't wait for the the volumes (like me).
