I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance reader copy of this story. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

As a biped owned by three cats, I recognize the training methods and behaviors in this textbook. The cats have laid out the steps in a logical manner, as one would expect from a cat. All in all they are kind in their opinions and thoughts on the humans in their lives. There is much humor to be found in its pages. I should go now; my cat needs my thumbs to open a can of food. Such is the life of a cat owner.

I read this with one of my four cats sitting on my lap. It was so fun and as I was reading I found sections that reminded me of each one of my cats(most of the time all of the my fur babies fit the bill!) it made me realize though that I am an extremely well trained human. It was such a cute book. I would recommend reading in multiple sittings so you can have more time to get some laughs in!

Laugh-out-loud, brought to tears funny, this book genuinely sounds as if Babas can read the minds of our feline friends. The voice is brilliant, showing a sense of lovable disdain for humans and the strange things—at least in the eyes of felines—we do for our furry companions. Babas’ humor brought this book right up to my top reads of 2024 so far, and I cannot wait to see what else she has in store. This is a must read for all cat lovers.

This is a really fun book told from the perspective of a cat or cats about how to train humans. I think cat owners or animal lovers in general would enjoy this! As someone who has two cats, I found this funny and entertaining. I also think it's very unique. If you're looking for a fun lighthearted read, I would recommend this! Special Thank You to Babas, HarperVia and NetGalley for allowing me to read a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

A humorous and heartwarming guide for all cat lovers who have ever translated what their cats may be thinking! This book was so much fun and simply a joy to read! I thank Netgalley and HarperVia for the opportunity to read and review this book.

A super fun and quick read that hilariously details what cats really think of humans and our ways. Babas does a great job of giving a voice to cats and their eccentricities, but the jokes get a bit repetitive if you sit down to read this in one go. Still, I'm sure cat lovers/owners/slaves would love all the cute little observations about their feline companions.

Happy thanks to NetGalley and HarperVia for the fun read!

If you are a cat lover or know someone who is, you have to buy this book. I’m one of those solitary individuals who was more inclined to be trained and my cats did a great job training me. It is a light-hearted book written from a cat’s perspective on how to train their humans. It could have been written by my cats. It was interesting how spot on the training behaviors are now that I look back.

Thank you to the author, HarperVia, and NetGalley for the Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

What a fun POV of how a cat finds their human(s). Its so much fun!! We all know that the cats are in charge and we are just here to do what they want. We need to admit that we are here to to just make their lives easier. Our world revolves around the cats of the world as it should be.

Thank you to HarperVia and NetGalley for the ARC in return for my honest review. Go find your next adventure in black and white in a good book. Momstr

This was a delightful short book, written from the point of view of a cat, on how to train their human.

Translated from the Italia, this was a fun and witty quick read. I loved the references to the "primates" (humans) and our quirky behaviors. Having been a cat own for many years, I could swear that one of my cats had written this. It describes common cat behaviors in terms of activities that they need to do to impress on us how we need to work for them. It also covers how cat's need to choose their human and work on training them correctly, to end up with the perfect relationship.

While a lot of the book covered cat behaviors that I recognized, I did find I learned a few new things at the same time.

Great short read.

Received an advanced copy for free in return for an honest review.

It’s cute and informative. The translator did a great job of keeping the tone to be a mock informative guide. I have read translated books before and I felt like this one was very well done. The humor was very much intact. I was having a lot of fun while reading. I really enjoyed how the cats were not made out to be evil but more mischievous or confused by human actions. The illustrations were cute but honestly I didn’t understand why they were in the book. I wish they had captions or showed a scene from the book. In all, a short and fun informative guide which every cat owner can relate with and every cat can learn from.ok_show_action=false

Anyone who has ever shared a home with a cat will find this book to be amusing. Told from the cat's viewpoint, the book covers such topics as selecting a human, training your human to pet you, interactions with humans, vocalizations, and other pertinent topics for cats to know and study. Specific examples of kitty case studies add to the merriment. One of the best parts of the book is the line drawings of felines.

I received this book from the publisher and from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are my own.

Beware: Do not let your cat read this book! I think mine already did. This is a hilarious how-to book, written from the cat’s perspective. If you share your life with cats, you will recognize most or all of these behaviors. I thoroughly enjoyed it! I received a complimentary copy of this book and chose to write a voluntary, unbiased review.

I wish this was funnier or more inventive than a collection of cliches you might hear from anthropomorphizing pet owners, that make for small talk and snickers. This is not a long read and yet it drags. The charcoal cat artwork peppered through the book is quite beautiful though.

I don't think I'd ever truly realized how well trained I have been by cats until reading this book.

I don't know if I appreciate being called out so boldly by this book.

I don't know what I expected going in, this was definitely a title grab more than anything else. But it is truly written from the perspective of a cat, living in this often nonsensical human dominated world.

This book is genuinely humorous, and it will make you doubly appreciate your furry feline overlord.

Also, tortoises rule. So say the cats and who are we to question it?

Beware, all persons living with cats, do NOT give them access to this book. I have always suspected they gather and share tips on the best ways to manipulate is. But here it, is a full-fledged manual on training us. From mealtimes to bedtimes, this manual fully explains tactics for garnering the most and best treats from us with clarity. Some would call this extremely humorous. I personally find it frightening

4.5 Stars

How to Train Your Human is shared through the view of a cat, or cats collectively. So if you were thinking that this was a book to learn how to change your husband, wife, or child/children (which I was not) this is not that book, although you might consider asking your cat - providing you have one - if this would be a book you might enjoy.

I’ve had cats or a cat for most of my life, and according to this book, we humans seem to perplex our feline friends. I only have one cat at the present time, she is the oldest among the members of my family, the ones who live in my home, anyway, and outnumbered by my dogs. When I first brought her home after seeing her photo online I only had my Golden Retriever. It was love at first sight for my Golden, and Paisley used to sleep on her. They were the best of friends. She was still a kitten, and this year she will be 18. Hard for me to believe. But reading this made me wonder just how much our feline friends question us humans, and the things we do.

This has a quirky charm to it, at times, and a shared with a fairly lighthearted tone to it, but it still manages to be thought provoking, at times. I loved how it showed how easily we are so easily trained by our cats to do their bidding.

This is a quick read, and an amusing one, at times, but I’m glad that Paisley can’t read and if there is an audio copy for this book, that I did not opt for that. So far, I’m convinced she isn’t much of a reader, unless it’s the cover on cat food or treats, but you never know with cats…

This is a cute funny book written from the Cat's point of view on how to train and live with your human. Any cat owner will recognize their habits and antics. As the author explains living peacefully with your human just requires some training. This book will make a great gift for any cat lover. Enjoy

This was a fun book. It wasn't very funny but I liked the look into humans from a feline perspective.
