This is an amazing mystery surrounding a missing person's case. It keeps you on edge until the end. I could not put it down! Wolfe's approach is unique and intriguing. I love her books. They are well worth the time invested in reading them.

This was a bit too predictable for me. So therefore it affected my rating. I still liked it but I couldnt say I loved it.

Alana and her husband, Daniel, are livinga normal life. He owns a diner and she is an elementary school teacher. She has started a project at her school of creating a binder with information in case a child goes missing. Something to have everything in one place to make it easier if the worst happens. One day, they get new neighbors and go to meet them. However, this innocent action turns into a shock for Alana when her first love, Ray, opens the door. It turns out she knows also his wife, Chloe, as they were once best friends. By the end of their first visit, Alana is in tears and all I can wonder is what happened in the past. Then after an interview about the If I Go Missing binders, one of Alana's students goes missing. Then a few days later, so does Chloe. This is where the twists and turns take off at full blast so hold on because it is a crazy ride.
It was good but not that good.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me an advance copy.

I swear I had a pit in my stomach the entire time I was reading this book. I couldn’t devour it fast enough, yet a part of me didn’t want to keep reading. I’m not an avid thriller reader normally, although I’m definitely doing more than dipping my toes in the pool lately, but I guess my feelings show what a good book it was. This is the first book I’ve read by Leslie Wolfe and I definitely think I need to read more.

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for my ARC of this book.

Another great read from Leslie Wolfe. So many twists and turns that I was not expecting. Kept me interested until the end.

Trigger warning: fertility issues are talked about throughout the book.

This book started out really strong for me. I was flying through it and couldn't wait to get to the ending to find out what was going to happen... however, that ending was a bit too far-fetched for my liking. It was looking like a 5 star read for me until the ending. It was just too over-the-top. So 4 stars it is!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC of this novel.

If you're reading this, I've gone missing.
What an opening line! I was so sucked in from that first chapter, wanting all the clues to try to figure out what had happened to our protaganist.
The plot ramps along at a lightening pace, and reminded me of Wolfe's previous book The Surgeon, which I also loved. If these two books are the author's standard level, then sign me up for every future book.
This book is very cleverly plotted, and with the fast pace, it keeps the reader totally engaged throughout.
Loved it.

From this point, it is a whirlwind of twists. The book is from Alana's POV and sometimes I wonder if she is crazy. Just when you start thinking things are going to shake out one way, Leslie Wolfe changes gears with their amazing storytelling. The characters are so developed they feel like acquaintances.

TRIGGER WARNING: fertility issues, adoption
Alana was deeply affected by the disappearance and subsequent death of a young girl. Now she advocates that everyone should have a binder packed full of information including fingerprints and passwords, to help police in the event of a person's disappearance. She never expects that her best friend will rely on one to save her...
If I Go Missing is a psychological thriller set in America.
Alana lost touch with her former best friend Chloe and her husband Ray who Alana loved first. Then the couple move in next door and Alana is forced to confront the past. Chloe vanishes, leaving behind a binder of information that hints at Alana's guilt for several crimes. Meanwhile a child at Alana's school also disappears and her interest in the case sparks police concern.
The book is written from Alana's first person perspective as she deals with events in the present day and reflects on the past as well. She has been keeping secrets from her husband and is pretending to have fertility issues to avoid telling him the truth. Meanwhile the arrival of Chloe and Ray back into her life causes emotional pain and confusion. This is then compounded by the disappearance of her pupil and friend in two apparently separate incidents. Her heart breaks as she reads Chloe's diary and reconsiders her own memories of the past.
I didn't find much of the book particularly credible but this didn't affect my enjoyment as I was swept along on the rollercoaster of plot twists. Alana's lies keep growing and spiral out of control. I liked the police detective and could empathise with his frustration and suspicion about Alana's involvement in the two missing person cases as well as an accident in the past.
If I Go Missing is full of mystery and suspense but also emotion.

Wow, this book had me finish it in one go.

While it is a slow start, and there are a bunch of flashbacks, once it gets going, it really gets going! I did expect a few of the twists, but once it was elaborated on, I felt that there was way more going on than I expected.

Very fun and thrilling read!

What an attention grabbing book! You definitely do not want to miss this one. If there is one book you read in 2024, make it this one, you will be on the edge of your seat all the time. The end gave me the chills!

Leslie Wolfe knows how to keep her audience captivated and she can keep up the pace the whole way through. When you think it is safe to breathe, she will hit you with another twisted scene after another. There were times during this book that I wanted to hide my head under the blanket heart racing because the story became so intense. Ms Wolfe is the queen of psychological thrillers.

The first half to three quarters of this book was fantastic. I could not put it down. I felt like the last part of the book was a little too much and unnecessary.
Also Alana’s and Daniel’s relationship was annoying and I was not rooting for them. Like why would Daniel want to stay with her?
Overall, I really did enjoy this book and it was fast paced and full of twist. I would recommend.
Thanks

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this ARC! I really enjoyed The Surgeon so was excited for her newest novel.

When Alana’s high school friend moves in next door, it brings up a lot of memories for her, most of them not good! This book will keep you on your toes with all of the twists and turns. I did find some of the content to be a bit over the top.
