I had no idea what to expect when I started reading this book, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's a fantastic way to kick off the New Year.

Delaney Pace is just the type of female main character that I love to read about - she's fearless and has a strong sense of justice. There's a twisted killer on the loose, and Delaney is determined to catch them.

The writing is well-crafted, and I found myself connecting with several of the characters. The pace of the story kept things moving along nicely.

One aspect that stood out for me was the attraction between Delaney and Leo - it added an extra layer to the story. However, I was disappointed by the abrupt ending. I understand that it's part of a series, but I was hoping for some sort of closure in this installment.

Her Silent Bones" by Pamela Fagan Hutchins is a gripping start to the Detective Delaney Pace series. First, I want to thank the publishers for allowing me to receive an ARC of this book! This will be published January 16, 2024!

This is my first book from the author but I love a good series and the plot seemed intriguing. The plot intertwines the detective’s past with the current murder case. There is good depth added and the plot continues to thicken as you read on, making the story more of a thrill. There are a few twists right off the bat within the first ten chapters which I think helps keep reader hooked.

The writing was a bit detached for my liking and I did struggle at time with the flow of the dialogue. Overall, the story itself is good and I have hopes this will be a fun series. The pace of the story was done nicely and I did enjoy the characters/their development throughout the book.

Nevertheless, "Her Silent Bones" is a a book I would recommend to anyone who loves thrilling mysteries and detective/murder books. Although, it wasn’t my favorite in the genre, it was a fun read.

I started this but just could not get into the story and really didn't like the characters so didn't finish it.

This was an excellent start to a new series by author Hutchins. It reminded me favorably in many ways of the Cassie Dewell series by C.J. Box.

Delaney Pace comes back to Kearny, Wyoming after being an ice road trucker for ten years to take care of her 11 year old niece after his brother and his wife are killed in a horrific car accident. She rejoins the Kearny Sheriff's Department as a Deputy Investigator and immediately is on the trail of a serial killer who is brutally murdering women in the area.

I enjoyed Pace's character and the many other supporting characters and I liked that the story takes place in beautiful Wyoming. The storyline was exciting and gruesome and kept my interest all the way through with a surprise twist at the end.

I highly recommend this book and I'm already off to read the next book in the series Her Hidden Grave.

This thriller debut is fast paced and keeps you engaged trying to figure out what is going on. And….there is a lot going on!
Delaney Pace is one tough lady! She isn’t going to take anything from anybody at anytime!
The ending was unexpected to me. We are also left on a cliffhanger. Which makes reading the next book in the series high on my TBR list.

Omg, great new series! Delany has never really gotten over her Dad's murder and it has never been solved. After she gets news of the accident killing her brother and sister in law,she returns to Wyoming to care for her niece. Her main worry is keeping her niece safe. She gives up her job as an ice road trucker and accepts her old job back as a deputy. Great storyline. You will be so glad to know 2 more books after this one and then more in the works

For fans of Pamela Fagan Hutchins, this book is a welcome return to the on-the-edge of your seat story telling. Delaney has had trauma in her life and she has now returned to the small town where she used to live. She's there to raise her niece who was orphaned when Delaney's brother and his wife were killed in a car accident.

Delaney is smart, tenacious, and well skilled to fight and take on bad guys. But she's now dealing with a vicious killer who is kidnapping and torturing people that Delaney knows and loves.

This book has explicit scenes of torture. There are a few paragraphs that seem to come out of nowhere at the end - perhaps we'll find out why in the next book. But this is another great crime thriller that will have your eyes rushing to the end. I look forward to the other stories in this series.

I listened to the audio version and I thought the narrator was great.

Delaney Pace has to return to her hometown to take over her dead brother’s businesses and raise his 11 year old daughter. Liam and his wife Lila were killed in a car accident and Kateena has no one else to care for her. Reluctantly Delaney begs her old boss for her job back and moves back into her childhood home. Before she can even get settled into her new life a dead body is found on a remote trail. Now, Detective Delaney Pace, she arrives on the scene to discover that the body is her, supposedly dead, sister-in-law, Lila. As if that wasn’t enough of a jolt, another acquaintance of Delaney soon goes missing. Delaney has to rely on her new partner, Detective Leo Palmer, to help her solve the case before she turns up dead, too. But is Deputy Palmer hiding something?

This book was so full of twists and turns. Every time I thought it was over and she was tying things up, Pamela Fagan Hutchins threw something else at me. The ending was a cliffhanger of sorts, that I assume will be cleared up in future books. Highly recommend this read!

Delaney is bad to the bone!! A cop turned truck driver who comes back to law enforcement.
She is also a mechanic and tackles bad people with no qualms. I love this new series!
I also love the Wyoming setting.
I’m unsure about Leo and can’t quite get a read one him yet.
I laughed a ton at Skeeter, I hope he makes some more appearances in the next books.
The action was non stop and I read every page with relish!

You will love this book!!! Delaney is back in her hometown after her brother and sister in law passed away in a car accident. Delaney is stuck with her brothers bar and while working as a deputy taking care of her neice. Delaney's sister in law is found murdered in the woods. So who was her brother with in the car ? And why was Lila found after the accident? This book has so many twists and turns!! Delaney is a great kick ass female and the best part of this book. Highly recommend this book. It was so thrilling!

Thriller- check! Took me a moment to get in the groove as Delaney Pace is not a sweetheart you take home to mom, but I would definitely want her at my six. There are twists, surprises, loss and a gruesome killer. This is not a true cliff hanger to me, as some of the plot is wrapped up. The ending leaves you looking forward to her next move. Delaney is intelligent, tenacious and abrasive. Her dysfunctional past comes through the pages. Its hard to review without spoilers! This is most definitely a gripping thriller! When Delaney returns to her roots in Kearny the twists and turns begin and don't let up. The characters are connected in very surprising ways throughout the book. This is book is definitely worth the read!

This was a new to me author and it didn't disappoint! The characters in this book were very interesting and each had their own backgrounds that keep you wondering and wanting to learn more. Delaney is a very strong and smart woman with a great head on her shoulders. She gets paired up with Leo to help solve a murder that is close to her heart. So many twists and turns you want to keep turning the pages to see what happens. Definitely a great ending!

This book was so good that I could not put it down! Set in small-town Wyoming, this book was a fast read and kept me on the edge of my seat! I thought the story was fabulous, filled with unexpected twists and turns. The characters were great and I loved getting to know them. I look forward to reading the future books in the series! I need more!!!

My husband and I visited Wyoming earlier this year and it was so neat getting to visit again through this book. Actually seeing how remote Wyoming is made the locations in this book more real and gave me a better perspective on how difficult reaching some of these locations could be.
