This is the first book I have read by Pamela Fagan Huchins and as book 1 in a new series, by the end I'm left craving the next installment in this series.

Book 1 and we are introduced to a great cast of characters. Delaney returns to the town she grew up in, the mystery of her father's death still haunting her, along with her upbringing. After 10yrs as an ice road trucker she is back in town after her brother and his wife die in a car accident to look after her niece Kateena and rejoins local law enforcement working for Fenton who was like a father to her.

Also new in town and Delaney's new partner is Leo Palmer. There are sparks between these two, but why Leo has moved from the sunshine and warmth of California to this mountain town is a mystery.

With the discovery of a body on the mountain, and another woman going missing, Delaney and Leo race to uncover who is behind these attacks and find Mary before it is too late. Along the way, there will be bombshells, revelations, and devastation. Can Delaney give up her loner ways and work Leo, can she learn to trust another person, only time will tell.

Delaney returns home to care for her eleven year old niece after her brother and his wife were killed in a car crash. She rejoins the Sheriff’s Department and is immediately sent to murder scene. The body is her sister in law, Lila Clemente, who had apparently died in the car crash. Another woman goes missing and then the killer turns his sights on Delaney.

I must admit that, initially, Her Silent Bones, did not hold my attention. I laughed at how Delaney met her new partner, Deputy Leo Palmer, as it’s fun and inventive, but I took time to settle in. I think that this is due to the constantly changing point of view, which gives the read a choppy feel and doesn’t encourage immersion in the narrative. I also feel that it spends too much time with the unnamed killer and his sadistic mindset, although, fortunately, it doesn’t dwell on his actions.

Once I got into the read, at about the halfway mark, I really enjoyed it. It starts to concentrate more on Delaney and Leo’s investigation, which starts to make progress, and the killer’s fixation on Delaney, which is a mistake as she’s well able to fight back. The second half of the novel is nonstop action, but that’s not all as the author has some great twists that are real jaw droppers.

Delaney Pace is generally described as a bada**. She can take care of herself physically and is no doormat verbally either. She’s dedicated to doing a good job and has the smarts to make it a reality. My kind of woman.

Her Silent Bones is a good read that I have no hesitation in recommending.

Her Silent Bones (Detective Delaney Pace Book 1) by Pamela Fagan Hutchins is the first book in this series.

The story starts with a gruesome killing and then doesn't let up. Delaney is a hard-core character. She is a bit abrasive but sure of herself and fighting her own demons. I loved her niece and the dog Dudley.

The story has some jaw-dropping revelations and twists, and it's a good crime thriller for the first book. The story has determined characters who persevere, with heightened tension and suspense. A good start to this series. I have the next two books and look forward to reading them and getting to know these characters better.

The story does have a cliffhanger ending, though. I would recommend this book and this author.

A new author with a new series is always very exciting. Well it's not a new author because she has written quite a lot of books but she’s new to me because it's the first time I have ever read a book by her hand.

The main character is Delaney Pace. But her niece kateena and her partner Leo have important roles too. Delaney and Leo are trying to find a vicious kidnapper and killer and as per usual time is not on their side.

When they discover his first victim Delaney is in for a shock but that is not the only shock she will have to deal with. Now she and her partner share a secret and they want to keep it this way for as long as it takes. After all as long as someone does not know they are being chased, they can't turn on you either and you can feel relatively safe. Delaney has been through a lot and as they say “what doesn't kill you makes you stronger” she can certainly rely to that. She will fight with everything she has in her to protect and to make sure the culprits will find themselves behind bars. There is no way you cannot admire her for what she does and she's a force to be reckoned with.

The author certainly dropped a few bombs on the reader and she had me gasping more than once.

This is a great start of a series that is very promising. I cannot wait to get to know Delaney and Leo a lot better and I hope they will be able to solve a lot more cases in the future. I, for one, am going to start reading book 2 right away. It goes without saying this means I enjoyed this one a lot and it would be a crime to rate it less than 5 stars.

A new series that pulls you in, meeting Delaney, in charge of her niece now.
She begs for her old job back, to stay in this little Wyoming town for her niece.
It has a good fast plot, that covers the killers thoughts as well as Delaney
past of secrets to her niece being take. One can't turn the pages fast enough in this
new chilling series.

This is an excellent start to a new series featuring Detective Delaney Pace and set in Wyoming. The characterisation is excellent, with interesting characters and sufficient depth to the descriptions. The plotting was very good, the book flowed at a fast pace and there was plenty of action. I really liked it and would recommend to lovers of the genre. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

Her Silent Bones is the first book in the series featuring Deputy Investigator Delaney Pace. Delaney has moved back home to Kearny, Wyoming to take care of her 11 yo niece Kateena following a car accident that claimed her parents' lives - Liam and Lila Clement. The story is well written and very descriptive. Even before she starts her new job with the Sheriff's Department with Sheriff Coletrane Fentworth and Deputy Leo Palmer, there is a report of a body found up in the mountains! This body will lead the team on twists and turns to discover how everything is linked to Delaney and her family when her Father was murdered 15 years ago. I look forward to reading the next book.

This is the first book I read of this author and that was fast-paced, filled with action and suspense. More than once, I was on edge, waiting to see what was going to happen. So many things going through the life of Delaney, murders, kidnappings as well as truths she's uncovering.

Detective Delaney will be one of my favorites. This talented author has written a page turner. The characters are entertaining and realistic. The story moves quickly. Mystery and mayhem. Secrets and red herrings. Curl up in a comfy chair before a warm fire and try to discern the ending of this novel. It is not easy. Thanks Netgalley.

Wow! Great book!! I'm so excited! I have the next two books to read also! I can't wait! This book was awesome! It had high suspense, intrigue, action packed, murder, serial killers, mystery, high speed chases, shootouts, great police work and some really crazy twist and turns! The storyline was so very interesting and had me glued to my Kindle! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one! I can't wait for more in this series!
