Yes!!!!! This is a series that just keeps on getting better........

Her Last Cry by Pamela Fagan Hutchins is the third book in the excellent Detective Delaney Pace series and what an excellent series this has been. I have been gripped from the very first book and it has been a roller coaster ride with so many twists and turns that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat and I ended up reading this book to the early hours of the morning, just like her second book in this series.

Then......NOOOOOO! It finished with a cliff hanger! This is so good and I can't wait for Book four of this series!

I highly recommend these books Excellent series!!!

Big Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for my ARC. I have loved this series especially the way Pamela the author writes.

This the third book in the Detective Delaney Pace series and it is just as good as the first two. I was able to jump right into this third book and we picked up where the last two left off. I have really become a fan of these characters and the stories the Hutchins weaves. I really hope this series will continue on for more books and that it won’t end here.
I recommend anyone who enjoys police procedurals to give this series a try.

This is book number 3 in the series. There were so many twists in this book. The ending left me wanting to know more so hopefully there will be a book number 4.

The only problem with finding a new series you love, is when you finish them, with no reassurance that another is on its way! This one was just as exciting and shocking as the previous 2, with this one having a political spin to it!
Each one has been hard to put down, and the small town snowy back drop makes the series stand out from other similar genre.
If you love strong women, hot sheriffs and sassy kids, look no further than this belter of a series!! PLEASE put me out of my misery and pop out book number 4!

It is a fantastic story, exhilarating plot, well developed characters, and a well executed shocking ending. I read in one day, unputdownable and very addictive. Recommend to every thriller reader.

Her Last Cry (Detective Delaney Pace 3) by Pamela Fagan Hutchins. Bookouture, 16th January 2024
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Synopsis:
Detective Delaney Pace finds Annabeth Dillon’s lifeless body on the bed, dark red ties gripping her tight, long black hair covering her face. She spots a dark figure at the window and rushes to give chase, but he gets away. Could it have been the killer?

As a local activist, Annabeth had a lot of enemies, and was no stranger to death threats. When one of Annabeth’s colleagues is found dead in her own home, Delaney fears that the murders are linked. Were the women hiding a secret that someone killed to keep?

Days later, Delaney discovers that the murderer left DNA evidence on the body, and she’s shocked to her core when she learns she knows the killer. As she jumps to action, another call comes in—someone close to her has gone missing. Delaney knows just how dangerous the killer is, but she’s prepared to risk everything, even her own life, to save the life of another innocent victim. Will she find them in time?

Review:
I've truly adored getting to know Delaney Pace over the first three books that Pamela Fagan Hutchins has based around her, and I'm a little sad that I don't have another Delaney on my TBR, but apparently book four will be happening, so that's made me very happy!

In the meantime, what to say about Her Last Cry? Delaney is as hot-blooded as ever, and she's fast become one of my favourite detectives. She remains unconventional and defiant with authority, and as she hunts Annabeth's killer, she tracks down clues like a regular bloodhound.

The tension in Delaney's personal and work life positively sizzles, in both delightful and frustrating ways. Her family come under fire, and her relationship with the wonderfully written Leo Palmer is exhausting! It's hard to say more with no spoilers, especially if you've not read books 1 and 2, but this series is stunning!

Her Last Cry by Pamela Fagan Hutchins. Detective Delaney Pace is becoming my favorite main character; the pain of her past shaped her, but she still strong, honest and loving. Plus she’s a great driver and a great shot. Her map skills are off the chart. I can’t wait for book number four.

Always a safe bet for a good, weekend, curled-up-on-the-sofa kid of read.
Solid plot, excellent characters (possibly a few too many this time though) and a great ending.
Will definitely look out for the next book in the series.

Pamela Fagan Hutchins, author
Mystery

In the third installment of this series. Detective Pace is putting the heat on some people who do not like it. It starts with the scandalous death of a senatorial candidate. Entering onto the scene are some mysterious people and Delaney must ask herself just who she can trust.

This book hooked me from the beginning. I read it in less than 24 hours I was so wrapped up in it. It had me guessing until the very end and left me wanting more from this author. I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars.

I enjoy the Delaney Pace series, but this one felt a little slow to me. The storyline is good and I desperately want to know what is going to happen next, but I sort of feel like it’s taking me weeks to get there. I hear that there are 3 more books coming in this series and I’m looking forward to reading those! Hopefully, they’ll move a little quicker!

Detective Delaney Pace is called in to find a missing woman, whom she finds dead in a remote cabin. Without any clear evidence, Delaney is chasing leads and coming up empty-handed. With another dead body, the search intensifies to find the perpetrator who left some DNA evidence behind at the scene of the first murder. With a suspect identified, the race is on to save lives and end the killing spree. Meanwhile, Delaney's personal life continues to be a challenge, as she tries to adopt her niece and an orphan girl. Will she ever find rest and contentment?

The third -- and so far best, in my opinion -- of the Detective Delaney Pace series, Her Last Cry is yet another page-turner! While many of the puzzles and questions from the first few books are answered, even more are raised in this latest installment of the series. The only problem is... now we have to wait for the next one to find the answers! Strongly recommended, especially for anyone who's read the series so far!

This series keeps getting better and better. Her Last Cry is atmospheric, well written, tense and hard to put down! I love books set in snowy settings and in Her Last Cry, Delaney and Leo are not only up against a diabolical killer but also up against the elements.

As a snowstorm rages a woman is killed in a remote cabin in Kearney, Wyoming. As Delaney and Leo survey the murder scene, Delaney takes chase as a figure runs through the snow. Could this be the killer? Is this an eyewitness? The person of interest gets away and Delaney and Leo are left to wonder who would want to kill this woman?

Things take a more interesting turn when another person dies, secrets are revealed, and Delaney learns she knows the killer! Holy Moly!

I was glued to the pages and read this book in one day. I didn't want to put this captivating page tuner down! I found this book to be atmospheric, tension filled, and well written. I enjoy both Leo and Delaney and their working relationship. There is a certain type of tension there and I am curious where this may lead. I also enjoyed the sense of danger that was present in this book.

Another thrilling addition to the series!

This was another fantastic addition to this thrilling must read series.
So much happens in this book that by the end your head will be spinning from putting a lot of the puzzle pieces together.
We get a lot of answers in this one, but also get more questions to make up for it.
So yet again it was very cleverly done by the author, and I can't wait for the next installment.

Deputy Inspector Delaney Pace and her partner, interim Sheriff Leo Palmer are back in another fast-paced thriller! When activist lawyer Annabeth Dillon is found dead at a Wyoming cabin retreat, what looks like sex-gone-bad but turns out to be murder. Finding the killer isn't as easy as it looks to be at first, and Leo and Delaney are dealing with their own issues at the same time, from Leo's jealousy when his visiting childhood friend turns out to be an old flame of Delaney's, to roadblocks to Delaney's adoption of her niece and a foster daughter and the return of her criminal brother. The action never stops, but for me the best thing about this series is the characters. Delaney is a strong, competent, kick-ass woman and Leo is her perfect foil. I'm pretty sure there will be at least a book 4 in the series, but after binge reading the first three I'm a little miffed that I can't just keep going!

Secrets are unraveling as danger lurks around every corner in the third book in the Delaney Pace series by Pamela Fagan Hutchins and I’m really enjoying sinking my teeth into this cast of players! We uncover some secrets as more mount with each passing page as Delaney continues to try to solve the mysteries surrounding her family. The characters are addictive and the suspense is high pitched. I really enjoy the core players of this series and am looking forward to more to come from them. I’m still hoping that sexual tension will pan out into a happily ever after for Delaney and Leo.

I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone that enjoys a whodunnit with lots of twists and turns along the way as an ongoing cast holds our attention and brings us new cases with each book.

Favorite Quotes:

She was poison on relationships, plain and simple. And theirs would be no casual fling, of that she was certain. It would be a barn burning, take-no-prisoners relationship with a capital R ending in destruction with a capital D.

Carrie shot Delaney a look so snake-like that Delaney expected to see a forked tongue when she opened her mouth to speak.

She had champagne and caviar tastes. He had a ramen and Busch Light job.

These cases are like one of those thousand-piece puzzles of gray clouds where every piece looks the same and half of them are nearly interchangeable. And it’s not until you find the right piece that you even see you’ve forced a wrong piece in.

Ignorance is always the best defense, and I’ve perfected that one.

My Review:

This wily author has mad skills as I felt like a passenger in their vehicles while holding on for dear life as Delaney raced around like a Grand Prix driver. The storylines were easy to follow yet complex and multi-layered with hits of well-placed humor and amusing observations. The characters themselves were complicated, deeply damaged, and intriguing. Everyone is guilty of something. I adore Sheriff Leo and hope the next installment goes a bit easier on him and allows him to catch his breath... and Delaney.

So, this series gets better with each addition. I still think it moves entirely too slowly, but the suspense is good and the twists gripping. I really do enjoy the characters and the plot; I just wish the in-between parts were better.
