Book #3 in the Detective Delaney Pace series. Each book could be read as a stand alone but there are over arcing story lines that a reder could miss if they'd not read all three books. Plus, the story lines are original and well written. The characters are unique with each one playing a prominent part in the story. They are quick read books, building tension and mystery as the story races towards clues, twists and turns that end in surprise reveals. Pamela Fagan Hutchins has invested Delaney Pace with stellar characteristics that make it easy to root for her success.

HER LAST CRY begins with a missing person report, a well known activist in this small Wyoming town. When the woman's body is found in a compromising scene, more questions than answers are raised. Another death occurs but DNA found on the first body gives Detective Pace a name for the killer. THEN.....the story turns quickly into a race. Can she find the killer before they kill again? You'll just have to read the book.

I really enjoyed this book. It was the first book that I have read from this author, and it was non-stop action! I read it in a couple of days and I loved it. The characters are very likable, and have their own unique voices/characteristics. I'm excited to go back and start with book 1 and 2.

I thought the suspense in book two would be hard to beat but somehow the author blew it away in this one. The case is interesting and kept me engaged. However, it's all the things going on outside the case that hooked me this time around. I love Delaney and am completely invested in her. And then there's Leo. He's such a complex character and at times I wanted to smack him. The emotions were pulled out of me reading this book. Once again, the ending left me clamoring for more! I can't wait to see what comes next.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

I’m on a roll with this series, I really don’t want it to end but I’m hoping we get more than three books!.

The prologue started off nice enough then it took a sudden dark and sinister turn that was so INTENSE and creepy.

We start off with a surprise birthday party for Leo at Delaneys bar (I really hope they get together in this book, they would make fireworks together that’s for sure) with her two soon to be adoptive daughters in tow she’s got her work cut out going from a single women to a ready made family all in a few short months.

They soon have to leave the party due to a call about a missing woman staying in an isolated mountain cabin, is it a sex game gone wrong or something more sinister ?.

WOW, WOW and just WOW this book had everything I wanted and more, it’s certainly not lost any of its freshness and uniqueness with it being the third book it’s just got better.

This case was an absolute firecracker.

I love Delaney and her new found family and life even though they keep getting knocked down they keep getting up and fighting.

This series is now one of my firm favourites.

Intense. Non-stop. Incredible.

This is the third book in the series. You must read the first two before this one because it's a continuing story. Delaney is trying to adopt her niece and an orphaned crime victim. But she's also trying to solve a murder, then another, then another... Are some suicides? Are they linked? What's happening in this small, remote area of Wyoming? Who is a bad guy? Who can be trusted?

Delaney and her boss/partner are running on fumes, trying to pull it all together when both of them experience family emergencies. Plan on reading this book in a long session because you won't want to put it down.

In book 3 of the Deputy Delaney Pace series, Delaney and Interim Sheriff Leo Palmer are asked to do a welfare check in a remote cabin. Annabeth Dillon, a prominent environmental lawyer and activist with political aspirations, has been reported missing. They soon find that Annabeth is not missing but dead. As Delaney and Leo delve into the investigation, the plot thickens with the murder of one of Annabeth's colleagues. DNA evidence leads to a shocking revelation of the killer's identity. When someone close to Delaney and Leo goes missing, the stakes are raised to an even greater height. The unexpected twists and turns will keep you on the edge of your seat.

The conclusion of this book lays the foundation for the continued adventures of Delaney and Leo, without ending on a cliffhanger.

Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture, and author Pamela Fagan Hutchins for the opportunity to review the advance copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

Book 3, Her Last Cry, in the Delaney Pace Series from Pamela Fagan Hutchins is my favorite in the series so far. That is probably because some loose ends are tied up and we have less of a focus on Kateena - or Kat as she's going by now. There is more intrigue amongst scandals in politics and environmentalist advocates, and those with lots and lots of money. The criminals in this iteration are also cooler, more Wyoming-esque and not as creepy as the previous bad guys Hutchins brought us. For all of these reasons, this novel rises to the top and would read well even as a standalone novel. Readers who may stumble upon this book first would certainly dig up Books 1 and 2 to get up to speed on the story and the characters.

I have seen so much growth in Delaney in this book compared to the first two books. She has a great handle on family now. She seems to be a softer version of book 1 Delaney. And, this is a good thing.
This series is definitely a thriller mystery that keeps you on your seat. The suspense and tension throughout the story keeps you engaged.
Looking forward to reading more in the series……

Dangerous Delaney is back!! Expect to read about her always being prepared, having to make some tough choices and allowing her vulnerability to show. In addition to giving NASCAR drivers their what for in Squealing Tires Shelly and being her boss badassery self.
I was chuckling with glee during the first few chapters because Leo bumbles with a snowmobile and gets super jealous. Hutchins suckered me in with the new love interest but I quickly came to my senses and a, firmly Team Leo!
My new favorite character is Freddy. That kid has the makings of a great cop and his airhead mother needs a lot of pointers.
After torturing me with the second book, Hutchins titillated me by this one’s ending. What’s going to happen??? It’s like gorging on an entire bag of chips and realizing you have to wait for the next serving.
Write fast!!!!!!!

4.5⭐

Her Last Cry is my first introduction to author Pamela Fagan Hutchins as I don't like to read crime series in order. And I'll be honest I never felt like I was at a disadvantage starting with book three.

As it's an easy story to pick up and read and I was pretty much hooked from the start. Thanks to the setting, the characters and the storyline.

As acting Sheriff Leo Palmer and Investigator Delaney Pace are asked to do a wellness check on someone staying at a remote cabin and what they find when they eventually arrive is a shocking scene.

But is it a sex game gone wrong or murder?

That's what the pair need to determine and fast.

Yet, with Delaney about to adopt her niece Kat and another teenager Carrie and Leo looking after his sister and nephew it's fair to say they both have their hands full and their work cut out.

However, when evidence points in a direction neither expected all bets are off. As Delaney risks everything to finally stop those she loves being hurt and put a dangerous criminal behind bars.

That's if she survives long enough.

And with twists, and intriguing personal life and secondary characters. Her Last Cry was an extremely entertaining and engaging introduction to Investigator Delaney Pace and I would happily recommend it to others.

My thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an early copy of Her Last Cry. 😊

Deputy Investigator Delaney Pace is back in this third book in an exciting series that takes place around Kearny, Wyoming.

Recurring character Leo Palmer is now the Interim Sheriff and works with Pace as she contends with murders, politics, activism, kidnapping, and the return of her psycho brother. She also works on preparing a permanent home for two young girls and Palmer has his own family issues in the story.

I highly recommend this book which is full of non-stop action.

I received this Digital Review Copy from Bookouture through Net Galley in the hopes that I would read it and leave an unbiased review. This is that review.

Delaney and Leo are back! I was initially drawn to this series for its thrilling twists and turns, but I stayed for the witty humor and the relationship between Delaney and Leo.

As I've continued reading, I've grown to love all of the characters and their journeys. In Her Last Cry, the plot moves quickly with unexpected twists that keep you on the edge of your seat. But what truly stands out in this book is the touching relationship between Delaney, her niece Kateena, and Carrie - the teenage daughter of Delaney's childhood friend who passed away. Taking care of these teenagers reveals a new side to Delaney that I thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, another fantastic read from this series!

Thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture, and the author for a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

The best one yet from this series. So many twists and turns you couldn't keep up. I hope to see more from this series with Delaney and Leo. Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in return for my honest review.

This is book number #3 in the Detective Delaney Pace series. I highly recommend this series! There have been so many twists and turns, and I cannot wait to see where it goes next!

When Delaney Pace was a child, she witnessed the murder of her beloved father but cannot remember who the killer was no matter how hard she has tried to. Will she ever discover the truth?

Delaney is back in her hometown working as a detective. She is raising her niece, Kateena, who was orphaned after her parents were killed. She’s also looking after the orphaned teenage daughter or her childhood friend.

Delaney is called to a remote cabin when a woman is reported missing. Finding her lifeless body, Delaney must determine who her killer was and why she was targeted.

When a colleague of the victim turns up dead, Delaney suspects the cases are linked. DNA evidence from the scene shocks Delaney but she is even more eager to solve this case when someone important to her disappears. Will she find the killer before anyone else fall victim?

Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for an advance copy of Her Last Cry, the third novel to feature Deputy Investigator Delaney Pace of Kearny County, Wyoming Sheriff’s Office.

Delaney and Interim Sheriff Leo Palmer are asked to do a welfare check in a remote cabin. Annabeth Dillon, a prominent environmental lawyer with political aspirations, has been reported missing from the cabin. They soon find that Annabeth is not missing but dead in an apparent sex game gone wrong. More deaths follow, culminating in the kidnap of some close friends.

I thoroughly enjoyed Her Last Cry, which is a tense, action packed read with never a dull moment. I’m not quite sure where to start as there are so many twists and interconnecting relationships that keep the reader furiously turning the pages to see what will come next. What I do know is that it finishes on if not a cliffhanger then a big hook for the next in series. Bring it on, the hook has whetted my appetite for more.

The novel starts with Annabeth’s murder and what seems like a quick solution, but then it gets complicated as other players and agendas start to appear. There is a fair amount of misdirection that I fell for, making the solution a real surprise and a neat twist on my guesses. Needless to say Delaney’s not so dead brother has a role in proceedings, but perhaps not as prominent as previous outings.

The novel is not just about the investigation as it features family and friendship as well. Delaney and Leo are still fighting their mutual attraction with the author inserting a neat wrench in proceedings in a timely manner. It made me laugh. Meanwhile their families get caught separately in the machinations of others. In Delaney’s case I think it was particularly well done as I found it tense and sad.

Her Last Cry is a good read that I have no hesitation in recommending.

This was a very faced paced thriller and was a lot of fun to read but I made a slight mistake in not reading the first two books first. I figured I could read a synopsis of the first two in hopes that would give me the important information that I needed and that was a mistake. There were parts of the book that didnt mean as much sense because I missed information from the first two. With that being said read the first two first! Other than that the book was really good and kept me on my toes. It had an interesting plot and that kept me wanting to read on. I will say there were moments of the book where I felt like the section was just fluff and didnt contribute to the story. But all around it was a pretty good thriller!
