Wow! The amount of suspense in this book is next level! This book had my heart in my throat so many times and definitely pulled at all of the emotions. Amazing and enjoyable read, highly recommend.

**a huge thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to review an ARC of this book**

This was incredibly SLOW.

I felt like nothing even remarkably important happened until over halfway through.

I am used to fast paced thrillers, so the slow burn, mixed with a lot of confusion and unanswered questions made this a not so great read. i think i spent most of the book more confused than anything.

This was definitely a slow burn. I found myself dragging to get through, it was honestly just too slow for my personal liking. It took almost 200 pages to really start to get interesting, then it took a weird turn that honestly wasn’t my cup of tea. However, the writing itself was well done and easy to read. I felt strongly about the characters which I love in a book. Overall, it was okay but definitely not my favorite.

* I received this as an ARC from Bookouture through NetGalley. It will be out January 9th, 2024 *

I don't even know where to begin. This book was amazing! It had me gripped from the beginning, but then it twisted into such a crazy direction that I was not expecting at all! Crazy in a good way. My adrenaline was pumping, and I was constantly finding myself holding my breath from the intensity of it. It was also very neat because it slightly tied into another book from this author, The Nurse. I had read that one and loved it, and was excited to see another book related to it! I can't wait to read more books by Jenna! Fabulous story!

I was really pleased to see a second book in this series and as expected, Sabrina Roth is as manipulative as ever! Although Sabrina and Henry don't feature heavily in this book, their influence is very much evident in the behaviour of their daughter, Taylor, who is used to getting what she wants in life!

After Sabrina pulls rank and refuses financial support to Taylor, who is heavily pregnant with twins, Taylor and husband Seth have to take in lodgers in order to pay their mortgage and that's where it starts to get creepy.

Zoe, Becca and Jules are all a little bit odd and Taylor isn't sure what is real and what she is imagining - the manipulation and twists are very cleverly executed. When Seth drops a shocking revelation, Taylor and her babies are in serious danger and my goodness, it was TENSE! Towards the end, I was holding my breath and my heart was racing at a million miles per hour!

A bit of a cliffhanger at the end indicates another Roth Family drama might be on the cards - I do hope so!

4 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Jenna Kernan and Bookouture, for an ARC in return for an honest review.

I thought the first half was quite slow and took me a while to get into it but it definitely picked up in the second half and wow once it did the suspense kept on coming. So I did really enjoy it I do think there is a lot of unanswered questions in regards to one of the characters. But that will not stop me recommending what I would say to everyone is stick with it it does pick up pace and you will not revert it. Thanks to netgallery and the publisher for my advanced copy.

I was hoping I was going to enjoy this, but after reading a few chapters, I realized the writing style and the plot was not working for me. The miscommunication trope is almost never my thing, but when it is two grown adults doing it clearly just for the plot, I'm out.

This book was very slow in the beginning. Then once a cult like subject was introduced, I stopped reading. Not interesting to me.

Overall a good thriller read although I did feel from about the middle it got a 'bit far fetched' for me and I got a bit muddled with the characters in the storyline.

Also I failed to see what the title had to do with the book, I kept thinking all would be revealed as the storyline progresses but for me it didn't.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC.

The first half of the book was so slow with nothing happening. But it picked up for the second part and it was filled with suspense. I was a bit disappointed with the ending, I wanted to know what happened with Taylor's parents. But well, overall it was a good read.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for access to this arc in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for an early copy of The Patient’s Daughter. Why was this book named this title? What happened to Taylor’s parents? Why so many unanswered questions? I’m sorry to say this was not one of the best books I’ve read and I’m disappointed because the cover was Beautiful. In the beginning I was flawed with what Taylor did without asking Seth’s input. Then later on, the book took such a twisted turn, I was like WHAT!!!! I liked that part of the plot, unfortunately it got a bit ridiculous towards the end, I’m sorry this is a negative review but I’m being honest.

For the second time we are invited by the Roth family.

In the first book (The Nurse) the author introduced us to Dr. and Mrs Roth and now we have to honor to meet their daughter Taylor and her husband Seth, counting the days until will become parents in a few days time.

As Hannibal from the A team likes to say that he loves it when a plan comes together, he is not the only one who likes that. Unfortunately though, more than once, plans don't come together at all and might result in a disaster.

Often people don't trust someone who is odd, but what is odd and what isn't? What one person may catalogue as being cuckoo, someone else might find that behaviour as the most common thing in the world. And maybe, we believe, without realising it, in the wrong ones, condemning the good ones...

You want something and someone promises to help you out. When they abandon you, you are determined to solve the problem by yourself. It won't be easy but you have a motto: where there is a will, there is a way and the way may be long and winding, but you will push through.

And believe me, willpower is something Taylor has in abundance and she will need every bit of it...

Mothers are like lionesses and you really do not want to cross swords with Taylor.

I loved this story and I would not mind at all if the author decided to write a third book in this series. Honestly, Seth, you should have done things differently. I hope you have learned your lesson. 5 stars

Thank you

When Taylor’s Mum and Dad decide she has to stand on her own two feet, it puts her in a vulnerable position.

Having just taken on a large house with her husband, Seth, who is training to be a doctor and their twins due to be born very soon, Taylor is panicking.

She decides to take in lodgers as she doesn’t want to lose the house. Has she done the right thing though?
With germophobe, Zoe in one room and married couple, Becca and Jules in the other room, Taylor soon notices strange goings-on.

This story had my heart pounding, I had to keep putting the kindle down so I could calm down!

A cleverly woven tale that contained a lot and packed quite a punch. It was fast paced and had me hooked from the prologue.

A psychological thriller that was full of suspense and I loved it!

My thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

This talented author has written a page turner. This psychological thriller is difficult to put down. Realistic characters keep the story moving quickly. Even the title is intriguing. Twins on the way. Are they safe? Lodgers who have secrets. Are they harmful? Discovering the ending is not easily determined. Thanks Netgalley.
