I find myself steering away from domestic thrillers but was happy to get an early copy of Sharis new book. Surprisingly this one took me awhile to figure out who committed the crime as there were other stories intertwined. Overall I give it 3 stars, it kept me hooked from the beginning and I finished it within the day.

Well told story that has you guessing as you hear from all the characters in a murdered teenage girl’s life from boyfriend to best friends to teachers and creepy stalkers. Sad at times, frustrating at others especially when dealing with how hard it is for females to report abuse. I’m not one for grizzly murder stories but this one is very different and well done especially with character development. Bravo!

A great murder mystery set in a small town in Vermont with several suspects and written from several perspectives, including the victim's, which was great. I enjoyed this one. Shari Lapena always delivers. Thank you #NetGalley for this advanced copy!

Shari has the winning formula for the perfect domestic thriller. Her short chapters end with cliffhangers and make it impossible to put the book down. The cast of characters seem familiar- we all had a sketchy teacher or co-worker in the past or a complicated relationship with friends and family and that makes the story relatable and a little creepy. Throw in a supernatural element to help the story unfold and another best seller.

It’s important to point out that although Shari writes adult books, imo they are suitable for all audiences. There’s murder and suspense and red herrings, but there’s never anything inappropriate. I think Shari’s books could be a great transition for Young Adult readers to a broader selection of books.

Thank you both #netgalley and #edelweiss and as well as #penguinrandomhouse for the complimentary copy for an honest review.

Shari Lapena has written another page turner. A teenage girl is murdered , who would do such a thing ? The suspects are numerous and she keeps you guessing until the very end. This is one of her best in my opinion and would recommend it to all mystery lovers and book clubs.

Shari Lapena has done it again! Her latest thriller, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?, has blown me away. I was hooked from the first page. A well know teenager named Diana is found dead in the field of a local farm. There are many possible suspects. As you get deep into the story, you're taken on a wild adventure to find out the truth of what really happened to Diana that day. I really enjoyed trying to figure this one out. This is a solid thriller that you won't want to put down!

Many thanks to Pamela Dorman Books and NetGalley for my gifted copy.

Four teenage friends in the small town of Fairhill, Vermont often meet in an old town cemetery to hang out and tell ghost stories. But lately Diana and Cameron have become a couple leaving out Riley and Evan. Riley still considers Diana her best friend, so when texts go unanswered, Riley knows something’s wrong. Then the police show up in their classroom and Riley and Evan learn the unthinkable—Diana has been murdered and Cameron is a suspect. Riley knows Diana wanted to break up with Cameron, but also that a customer had been stalking Diana at work. Or maybe it was her PE teacher who Diana had accused of inappropriate conduct??

Diana’s guilt-ridden mother can feel Diana’s spirit presence, but what if it can’t remember who killed her?

As always Shari Lapena keeps her readers guessing till the last page! You won’t be able to put this one down.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Pulled me in and I liked the shifting viewpoints. I was guessing the ending right up until it was revealed. I didn't think there was great character development. I had a hard time connecting to and following some. It was shallow. It was fine, but not my favorite from this author.

A fast paced suspense mystery written with enough red herrings to keep your guessing until the end. I devoured this book, loving the characters, the plot, and the authors style of writing.

A wonderful twisted murder mystery. Multiple red herrings and well developed characters throughout the story that could be the killer. Never a disappointment from this author!

I wish I would have enjoyed this more. I think it had potential, but I was too distracted by the details that didn't add up. It did not seem as well thought out as Shari Lapena's other novels.

A teenager is found dead in a field in Vermont and the list is suspects is long. Is it the boyfriend? The creepy guy who stalks her at work? The inappropriate teacher? There are just so many characters and so many different scenarios.

Maybe it is because I work in a school setting, but I was annoyed about how everything with the teachers, principal, and school played out. It just did not seem realistic. First of all - if a teacher is accused multiple times of being inappropriate with a student, what principal would NOT report it? Furthermore, allegations go beyond a building principal. Was there no upper district administration? School board? So why did the buck stop with the principal? And then the female teacher -- Mrs. Acosta -- apparently she was this beloved teacher who was known for being strict, etc. But she couldn't parent her own child? When she asked for her daughter's phone and the daughter refused, Mrs. Acosta didn't know how to handle it. What -- you just let your daughter tell you "no" and go about your day? That does not seem like how a mom who is also a teacher with strict classroom management would handle things. Speaking of the daughter -- Taylor was supposedly in 9th grade but it was mentioned multiple times that she was 13 years old which is young to be a freshman. Typically age 13 is around 7th or 8th grade.

The language was odd to me too. I even had to look up to see if the author is British because of word choice in several places throughout the book. She's not -- she is Canadian. The setting was a small town in Vermont, but the characters didn't speak like it if that makes sense.

I guess I had more feelings about this book than I realized.

This is thriller perfection! If you’re in a reading slump and need a reliable good read to take you out of if it then this is the one.

A young girl bas been murdered and found on a field. Set in a small town within a farmer’s community we get to know all the affected people and hear their thoughts. I loved that the victim has a voice too. With many suspects hiding dark secrets, it’s hard to guess the ending.

Highly recommend.

Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

This author, unfortunately, is really just so so for me. Decent, readable mysteries that kind of all blend together with others I’ve read. This one was about a small town in which a girl was found murdered - who did it? The boyfriend, the pervy teacher, the creepy customer? It moved a little slow - LOTS of exposition - but overall was a decent mystery and kept me reading. 3 stars.

A small town in Vermont is an idyllic place until a body of a popular student is found in a field. Life changes for
everyone! How could this happen here and why.
The 3 friends of the victim are devastated and distraught. The author shows the transition and maturation of the teens as they assess the unthinkable. The role of parents and other adults and how everyone tries to protect themselves and their loved ones is clearly displayed. Everyone has a secret!
This is the kind of novel to read at one sitting and it develops quickly. You may guess the killer but -so what.
Good for older teens too

I see what you did there. I see you Shari Lapena. You lost me for awhile with the stutter step, but that was a reasonably clever redemption.
