Who would have thought that one of the lost siblings was a girl! And a go-getter at that! Andi sure brought some excitement to Someday Valley. Some that no one expected. She turned things upside down for several people, but it is going to all be for the better in the end. Noah's bookshop sits in the heart of all of it and his life seems to be changed most of all.

The Wild Lavender Bookshop is book two in the Someday Valley series. Although it can stand alone I recommend reading the first book Strawberry Lane because there is a theme of found family woven through the novels.

There are three main couples in this story. Bookstore owner Noah and Cora, a teacher, strike up a friendship that quietly becomes much more. I enjoyed seeing how their world opened up. Cora's father, Bear, has a secret love that he'd like to make permanent but he's had no luck in convincing her to marry him. Andi has been summoned to town to learn about an inheritance and to meet brothers she never knew about. She's a Dallas PD detective with some bad guys chasing her. Danny Davis, a Someday Valley deputy, has been tasked with protecting her. As the days go by he realizes he'd do anything to keep her safe and maybe convince her that Someday Valley would be a good place to settle down.

I enjoyed this book. It was fun to visit the small Texas town again and I look forward to coming back  soon. 3.5 stars rounded up

This book didn't hold my attention. I usually enjoy her books, but this one seemed to ramble with no point.

This story basically circles around three couples, and Andi, the long lost sister. She arrives in town with danger following her, determined to find the brothers she never knew existed. But trouble finds her in the small town, and those around her will do anything to protect her, even give up centuries old secrets.
The characters are fun, and have lots going on in their lives. It's fun to see the relationships develop and blossom. The plot was good, but at times very choppy , especially towards the end. I thought it was a little rushed. Overall an enjoyable book in the series.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Title: The Wild Lavender Bookshop By Jodi Thomas

Release date: 23rd April 2024

This is the second book in the Someday Valley series but can be read as a standalone.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3.5 Stars

In the picturesque setting of Someday Valley near Honey Creek, the trees adorn their autumn colors, providing a beautiful backdrop for the local businesses, including a beloved bookshop frequented by schoolteacher Cora Lee Buchanan and her sister, Katherine. Their weekly gatherings at the bookshop, overseen by owner Noah O'Brien, revolve around their father, affectionately known as Bear, whose mysterious secret life unbeknownst to his daughters adds an intriguing element to their discussions.

While Katherine focuses on finding her third husband, Cora Lee experiences the rush of first love, often finding solace in late-night conversations with Noah atop her building's roof, serenaded by the gentle melody of flowing water below.

Amidst these personal dramas, the arrival of Andi Delane, summoned to Honey Creek to learn about her late father's last wishes, introduces a new layer of intrigue. With the assistance of Deputy Danny Davis, tasked with protecting her, Andi navigates the mysteries surrounding her father's legacy, unaware of the ripple effect her presence will have on the lives of Honey Creek residents and the future of Someday Valley itself.

The novel features multiple points of view and revolves around a few characters.

The Wild Lavender Bookshop is a delightful read that will appeal to fans of both romance and suspense.

I gave this title 5 stars because i really enjoyed it but at times i was confused. I enjoyed the romances of all 3 characters and can't wait to read more especially on the siblings and i hope the 3rd sibling is found. But some of the scenes were confusing, At the start all the characters were in the same place then they weren't and then all of a sudden they were. REGARDLESS I did enjoy the book and highly recommend it. I am looking forward to more interaction with the brothers.

The Wild Lavender Bookshop
by Jodi Thomas
Pub Date: April 23, 2024
Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
I'm not always a romance lover but this one was good.
Three unlikely couples and romances are at the center of “The Wild Lavender Bookshop”, by Jodi Thomas, a story full of love, magic, and sweet whimsical moments.
I loved finally meeting the lost sister, Andi, and watching the tough detective show inadvertently her softest hidden side.
I’d already forgotten how I enjoyed the interaction between the half-siblings and missed having more of it.
The romance with Danny is fun, full of surprises and strained and difficult until the end.
Lonely and invisible Noah has his perfect match in Cora, the sweet teacher with a resolute personality.
Bear’s and Eliza story about a mature love is also rewarding and comes to a satisfying epilogue.
I enjoyed the reading and the message of hope and love. Readers of
Susan Mallery would enjoy this one.
3 stars

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Noah has no qualms leaving his job and opening a book store in a small town in Texas. It makes him happy. He enjoys going to work. He befriends Cora who he grows to love. I enjoyed the many characters in this small Texas town.

I received an arc of this book from NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed are my own.
This was definitely not my favorite book by this author. The storyline was very predictable and while none of the characters had strong personalities; however, they were likable. Out of the 3 romances only one wasn’t rushed and had some foundation to it. I also felt the book wasn’t written for adults because it was your basic story. I realize this is a series but the ending left too much unknown. I received an arc of this book from NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed are my own.

This is the first time I have read this author and I will definitely be reading more of her books.

This is the second book in the Someday Valley series and it can definitely be read as a stand alone book. I think that is important when reading a book in a series.

I loved all of the characters and learning about their stories. I did think Noah was an odd duck for sure, although he was not the main character. Andi’s story is the main story and she has quite the background.

Each of the characters was running from something and felt lost. It wasn’t until they found their person that got them that they didn’t feel so alone anymore.

Healing is so important and we tend to stuff our feelings deeper and deeper until we just leave to cope and accept them as the truth. Jodi did a wonderful job portraying these feelings and working through the emotions.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley, opinions express in this review are completely my own.

Really loved this story about Andie, who was a witness that came to Honey Creek, Texas to hide out and to meet her 2 brothers that she didn't know she had. Noah, who came there to write a book and ran a book store..There is Eliza and Bear's secret romance. The sheriff.Pecos Smith, and Dan who becomes Andie's body guard and Cora, who is Bear's youngest daughter. See how all these characters come together. THIS IS A VERY GOOD READ.

Romance is in full bloom in Honey Creek. In Jodi Thomas’s The Wild Lavender Bookshop, which is the second installment in the Someday Valley series, Andi arrives in town to find out about a will that she is listed in from a father that she never knew. She also meets her brothers Zach and Rusty, who we read about in the first book. Due to her nature of work, a local deputy, Danny, is assigned to protect her. Then we hear about Bear, whose two daughters worry about him. Where does he disappear too? Does he have a secret lover? Then Noah, the owner of the book shop, has his eyes on Cora Lee, who is one of Bear’s daughters. Will wedding bells be ringing for any of these couples? .

The Wild Lavender Bookshop is a fun read filled with humor, romance and suspense!

Another winner from Jodi Thomas! Perfect for fans of heartwarming small town romance.

We have three couples to keep up with here, and honestly, I wish Noah and Cora would have been separate and in their own book to enable their romance to be more fleshed out. I loved all of the relationships though, and especially admired Bear and Eliza and how their story was kind of different but very relatable.

Jodi Thomas does small town so incredibly well. You feel like you are walking down the cute streets. She really brings the small town atmosphere to life.

I do recommend reading Strawberry Lane first so that you have background on Andi's storyline. The suspense angle keeps things moving in terms of pacing.

Ultimately the various storylines are wrapped up in a charming and satisfying way.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance e-galley; all opinions expressed herein are 100% my own.

This is the second book in the Someday Valley series, and I would recommend reading Strawberry Lane first, or you will miss out on some of the backstory on why the main character Andi comes to town. This is a book filled with quirky characters, which I love. I like the way that the characters make connections with unlikely people, and in doing so, grow in unexpected ways. This was a fun read, one that left me feeling grateful that books like this exist, and leave me smiling at the end.

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley: all opinions are my own.

This was an interesting book featuring three couples in a small Texas town. All have secrets from the past and somehow, their lives intersect as they help each other. I have not read the first book in this series and will go back to catch up on the towns of Honey Creek and Someday Valley, Texas.

This book takes place in a small town. Andi Delane has come to town connect with brothers she didn’t know about, but she also needs to lie low. She is the only witness for the trail of a drug lord and he will do anything to keep her from testifying. The book has a couple story lines but they all connect. It is a sweet romance with some suspense thrown in. It is the second book in a series but could easily be read as a stand alone. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.
