Very quick read, especially suitable for younger kids.

The story reminded me of Ready Player One in some ways.

this was a great start to the Virtual Kombat series, it had everything that I was hoping for from the description. The concept was refreshing and I enjoyed how well it worked with the scifi elements. I was hooked from the first page and enjoyed the overall feel to the world. The characters were everything that I was hoping for and enjoyed going through this story with them. Chris Bradford does a great job in writing this book and left me wanting to read more in this world.

A kids dystopian novel similar to Hunger Games but geared towards younger readers with less graphic violence. The ending was lacking a bit as if the trilogy was written as a single book and they just chopped it up to make it shorter but overall middle grades readers will relate to the main characters.
