This is organized by the content. There is so much in there, including the history, rules, skills, team working, worldwide tournaments and trophies. It is literally everything!!! This is a comprehensive book that is good for soccer lovers.

A comprehensive browser book on soccer. DK's Eyewitness series is still the gold standard for this publisher, but the dynamic photos and diverse inclusions for the "Everything You Need to Know About ___" series makes it a good runner up. An example of the diversity is not focusing solely on South American or European clubs, every continent's tournament is represented in the stats breakdown. Women's soccer is given multiple pages and written alongside the men's tournaments of the same organization.

Slight downside would be sometimes the layouts seem disorganized, such as a page explaining fouls and red cards with stats on club merchandise put on the same page. Surely soccer has enough wild fouls to have a page of its own. Think of Luis Suarez whose biting history has had multiple articles written about him! And sometimes the photos look a little too photoshopped to be smushed together. National Geographic still beats DK for sheer photographic awe.

In short, this book is a worthy addition for kids looking to read tidbits about the sport. Probably not reader friendly enough for an absolute beginner, but has a little bit of "everything" to make the title true.

This non-fiction book was full of interesting sports history arranged more as infographics than a narrative style. There were colorful illustrations that talked about the sport itself, how to play, equipment needed, and countries that hold tournaments and competitions. It also went into famous soccer players, as well as the women's soccer team and their successes.

This is a great book for anyone who is interested in soccer, and makes a good reference to check facts as well. I highly recommend this book for all library collections.
