After reading and thoroughly enjoying the first two books in the Witchlore series, I was elated to get my hands on book 3 early! Hazel Beck strikes a perfect balance between long standing friendship, romance, and the politics of quirky small town brimming with magic. This series straddles the line between the “regular” world and the magical one in a way that is entirely satisfying.

Thank you to NetGalley and Graydon House for the advance copy.

I have read the other 2 in the Witchlore series and enjoyed both greatly. This book was no different. Ellowyn and Zander's story were a big part in the other two books, even though this one was quite the twist on their story. We went from raging anger to deep-seated love. Quite the character development. Obviously, the story is not finished here, because I am still over screaming about these dang crows and how could Ellowyn not the make connection of the crows and what Georgie and Frost were trying to research? Also, we have to have Georgie's story. I am going to blame Ellowyn's pregnancy brain. I know the pregnancy trope is not a lot of people's favorite, and and I get, but I feel like this was tastefully done.

Having received an advance copy of "Truly Madly Magically" courtesy of NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing, I embarked on my first journey into Hazel Beck's literary realm. While unfamiliar with Beck's previous works, this installment in the Witchlore series left an indelible mark, compelling me to backtrack and explore its predecessors. Despite diving into the series midway, Beck's adept storytelling seamlessly integrated pertinent background details, ensuring I never felt adrift in the narrative. As an enthusiast of fantastical realms, this novel proved to be an enchanting escapade. The nuanced evolution of Ellowyn and Zander captivated me, underscoring Beck's skillful character development. Moreover, the camaraderie within the coven added depth and warmth to the storyline. From its captivating plot to its relatable characters, "Truly Madly Magically" held me rapt and emotionally invested from start to finish. Swiftly devoured in a mere two days, this book left me yearning for more of Beck's enchanting prose.

this was a strong third entry in the Witchlore series, it had everything that I was looking for from the other two books. It had the characters that I was hoping for and enjoyed from the genre. I enjoyed the way the characters were written and they worked in this universe. It had that magical element that I wanted and glad it was so well done. Hazel Beck always does a great job and can't wait to read more from her.

I was really excited to get this ARC, so excited that it jumped to the top of my to be read pile. To say that I devoured this book is an understatement, I had this book read in under two days and that is quick for me as a mom of two young boys. I could not put it down. This is a second chance romance that is not normally a trope I like but the way in which Zander and Ellowyn found their way back to each other. The way they grew into a more mature version of themselves despite Zander’s loss and the gain of a new life between them through the surprise pregnancy was really fun to watch. I laughed and cried with El. The ghost ancestors were great secondary characters and I loved seeing the previous characters from the first two books. It was a semi-closed door romance, somethings were alluded to but the chemistry and tenderness between the two main characters was so well developed. I was hooked from the start and loved every minute of it. I literally could not put the book down.

When I received this ARC from NetGalley and Harlequin Books, I didn't realize its was a series of 3. Instead of starting at #3, I started from the beginning with Emerson Wilde. Emerson and Rebekah Wilde were fun reads but this one is my favorite from the Witchlore series. To be completely honest, I was worried when the dreaded pregnancy trope popped up in the beginning. But it fit into the story nicely and it felt like it was necessary to this tale.

Ellowyn and her coven are fast approaching the battle against the current evil coven in charge. She's faced with her lifelong insecurities, teenage heartbreak, and long held beliefs about herself that have only ever held her back. But with the help of two ghosts with an all too familiar story, her coven of friends, and a community of loved ones, Ellowyn is finding more than just herself on this journey

I am looking forward to Georgie's story and I hope we hear more about the Riverwood Coven.

Black magic, ghosts, found family, and reignited love makes this a fun read.

ARC received through NetGalley and William Morrow Books in exchange for an honest review

I am overflowing with love for this book.

This book has been the best surprise in many ways:
First, as the first eARC I was approved for on NetGalley.
Then as the third book in a series I had previously contemplated purchasing (but didn’t because the bookstore copies were damaged) and had, until my NetGalley approval, forgotten about.
Next came the writing that swept me up and wrapped me in its magic, even without the first 2 books in the series under my belt to guide my way to these characters and their stories.
And lastly, for a surprising plot line that I was only too happy to see play out.

Now, I am stuck in this land of being happy to have read such a wonderful book and sad because it’s over. As I know all too well, this is a book hangover - the kind that I only ever experience after reading a book that I enjoyed very much.

Luckily for me, there are 2 other books in the series that I have every intention of purchasing and reading. As much as I’ll miss Ellowyn and Zander, I look forward to seeing how the journey to them really started.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for letting me read this ARC!

Full disclosure, when I requested this book, I did not realize it was book 3 in a series. That being said, I loved it anyway. Was I slightly confused about what was going on at the beginning? Absolutely. Regardless, the storyline and characters were intriguing, and I was quickly wrapped up in the main character Ellowyn’s story. Ellowyn, a half-witch who doubts her powers must help her coven as they fight dark magic and attempt to win the support of their fellow witches during the ascension, the process by which a coven is chosen to govern the witch community. This was a page turner with themes of friendship and self-belief woven in. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey and immediately went back to read books 1 and 2 (which were equally as satisfying). I can’t wait to read book 4!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Graydon House for the ARC!

I was granted the ARC of this book for my honest review.

Truly Madly Magically is the third installment of the Witchlore series by duo authors Hazel Beck.

Following the story of the new Riverwood coven of St. Cyprian, this story focuses on Ellowyn’s perspective as the story continues.

In this story, the Riverwood coven tries to become the ruling coven of the town. This story unfortunately didn’t work for me as the other two did. While I rated the last two books 5 stars each, respectively, this story was a 2 star read for me.

Unfortunately, I didn’t like Ellowyn’s perspective at all. Hardly anything happened the entire book. The accidental pregnancy and miscommunication trope was so entirely overwhelming, that 75% of the book was Ellowyn having an internal monologue about hiding her pregnancy, fighting with Zander (the baby’s father) or telling herself she doesn’t fit into her new coven.

Then, at around 80% through the book, with zero cause or reason, Ellowyn suddenly tells herself she’s strong enough and deserves to be a part of the coven. This came out of NOWHERE. One page, she is doubting her abilities and the next page, she’s leading the fight. While I enjoyed her character in the previous two installments, I couldn’t STAND her character in this book.

Also, this book gave almost no progression of the story whatsoever. While the first two books were full of action, mystery, and adventure, this book just felt like Ellowyn doubting herself.

I was incredibly disappointed in this story. After including the first installment in my top 5 books of the year for 2022, I was so excited to be able to read this ARC. I don’t know if I will continue with the 4th book when it hits shelves next year.

Another fantastic hero’s journey from Hazel Beck. I occasionally get frustrated with these stubborn women while they’re in the thick of their trials. But I think it’s more because it’s an accurate depiction of all the ways we doubt ourselves as humans & women especially. Don’t think it’s just a boring parable. It is solidly entertaining with lots of action & witch lore. I was very happy to dig into Ellowyn & Zander’s story while still getting to visit this lovely group of friends. I can’t wait for the next one. Please be soon!

I read the first book of this series and actually didn’t realize book 2 had already released, but requested this to learn that it was book 3!

I read out of order, so there’s definitely things I missed from book 2, but I think I still understood okay especially since I had a basic understanding of the main characters from book 1.

I think Hazel Beck writes pretty well. Love the modern, witchy setting. And the plot line keeps me reading honestly. The romance was cute!!

Pretty good third installment from Hazel Beck

The Good family women are all cursed, and Ellowyn Good is no different. While her father is a human, her mother is a witch who inadvertently spelled Ellowyn to be unable to speak lies. Because of her non-magic heritage, Ellowyn has always felt a little distant from the rest of her full-witch coven crew. But the Riverwood coven believes in her, and she’ll have to believe in herself if they hope to defeat the Joywood as the witching world’s leaders.

But trust and self-esteem are hard for Ellowyn. She’ll have to learn to work with her high school boyfriend, Zander, connect with the ghosts of her ancestors, and fight off the Joywood’s attacks. She’ll have to dig deep to believe in herself and turn her weaknesses into her power.

I was so excited to receive this ARC! This is the third book in the Witchlore series. Each story is told from the perspective of a different coven member, and this one features Ellowyn Good. While reading all the books in order definitely enhances the understanding of the relationships between coven members, the story can stand on its own. I love to see the growth of Ellowyn throughout this book. The combination of romance, magic, friendship, and good versus evil makes this an enchanting read. Can’t wait for more from this author!

I was so excited when I got this ARC!! Thank you NetGalley & Harlequin Trade Publishing for the chance to read this and write a review. I also needed a win for me because my first ARC was not great. This was a series I knew and loved.

I read the first two books which focused on Emerson and Rebekah while this book was all about Ellowyn (& Zander). El is half witch half human and her whole life she’s felt less than. Whether it be from other people or something she’s put on herself. This books was big on her kind of coming into her own and I absolutely loved that for her!! Her and Zander were together in high school so that comes back around…do they really hate each other??? Read and find out! Each book before this has also been big into the girls really finding out something about their powers, standing up for themselves and for their coven. I really love these ladies and constantly find myself rooting for them. This book was no different. Here they are working towards ascension and fighting the Joywood (again). Great stuff! Lots of twists and turns. Second chance love, ghosts, a statue that comes to life, evil trying to kill her and so much more!!

This was an amazing read. I didn’t realize this was the 3rd book but I read the others and then started this. Hazel beck is an amazing author! I can’t wait for another installment. So many emotions

This is the third in a series, but it’s mostly a stand alone. There are common plot lines, and maybe a lot of other relationships that would be better fleshed out if I hd read the first 2 in the series. Ive enjoyed the sort of ensemble cast of characters, but they all sort of ran together after a bit. I mainly struggled with the angst of the main female and male characters. I’m not a huge fan of the “secrets” that they kept from each other and “enemies to lovers” trope. Ellowyn read a lot younger than I think she is supposed to be; I spent the first 15% of the book confused as to how old she actually was. Some of her “issues” just felt a bit juvenile for being nearly 30 years old and facing down some pretty intense magical enemies.

You definitely should read the first two books of this series in order to totally understand what is going on, however, there is enough explanation in the book that you can get a vague idea. Lots of twists and turns, including in the final chapter. This was a fast and easy read if you are interested in a slightly different take on witch stories.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for a fair review, all opinions are my own.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for letting me read this ARC in exchange for my honest review, and to Hazel Beck for writing this book.

This was my first Hazel Beck read. I do think I would have enjoyed this book more had I previously read the first 2 of the Witchlore series. It was a little hard to follow/fully grasp in parts due to not have a prior connection to the characters and the story. The book has a rather slow paced start and some areas felt drug out.

Hazel’s writing is one I would like to keep exploring. If you’ve read the other 2 books and enjoy stories about witches this is a great series for you!

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing. I had not previously read any of Hazel Beck's books, but after reading Truly Madly Magically, I definitely will be going back to read books 1 and 2 in the Witchlore series! I really enjoyed this book, and, even though I wish I had read the first two books in the series before this, I didn't feel completely lost in where the story picked up since all of the important information was recapped in a way that fit in the current storyline. I love a fantasy/magical read, so this was a fun one. The character development of Ellown and Zander in this book was really well done and appreciated, in my opinion. I also just love the relationship of the coven as a whole. Overall, this book kept me hooked and emotionally invested in the story. It was a quick read that I read through in just two days.

Thank you NetGalley and Hazel Beck for early access to this title in exchange for my honest review.

This is the third book in the witchlore series and those should be read first. This book ventures into the relationship of Zander and Ellowyn. Their relationship being as complicated as they come with a history containing heartache. I enjoyed these two characters, and with their current “predicament” I appreciated taking their relationship a step at a time. There needed to be a slow progression because there was so much history to be broken down in order to understand how they got to this point. I love a good slow burn. Zander was a tough male, without falling into that overbearing category. Ellowyn was hard for me to read at first but I soon came to enjoy her inner workings.

The coven politics were intriguing but I didn’t feel myself drawn to really wanting to understand more about it. I cared more about learning the history of the covens rather than the current issues at hand. Which was important to the progression of the plot but I didn’t find it to be nearly as interesting. That being said the author had done a great job of including information that left no questions as to why things were happening the way they were. The storyline flowed well which kept me from putting the book down.

This book doesn’t come out until August, which means there all the time in the world to read the first two books. I cannot wait for another book and to jump back into this magical world.
