I learned a lot from this book, and it was beautiful, too. I recommend this for anyone and everyone, I think all the kiddos will enjoy it. The artwork was stunning, and I really appreciated that there was a page in the back with the types of trees.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me in exchange for my honest review.

This was a cute book about how important it is to take care of nature, and all the ways plants and trees help the environment. I enjoyed the illustrations. Unfortunately, climate change is a problem that children who are now young are going to be dealing with when they are old. This is why it is important to honor Mother Nature and respect her. This would be a good book for a teacher to read to students on Earth Day -- or any day.

This would be such a good book for kids who love hiking or going into the woods. Would be a great introduction to learn about different types of tree. The illustrations are great!

This picture book has vibrant illustrations and teaches kids about different types of trees as a boy and his father explore nature. There isn't much to the story, but the book includes clear descriptions and sensory details about what different trees are like, and the note at the end shares more information and some example photos for each tree.

This story was so beautiful and so were the pictures. So colorful and fun, and a great lesson about the importance of trees and nature! Absolutely enjoyed reading this one with my kiddo!

Rhyming poetry accompanies lush, textured, realistic illustrations. What the book lacks in narrative, it makes up for in beauty and information. The book points out the distinguishing features of each tree, helping with identification. The table at the back with real-life photos further helps in the field. I hope the author creates a Pacific Northwest edition!

Written for Arbor Day but a good read all the year around. Dad takes us on a walk through the park where we learn about the size, shape, bark, and leaves of a number of trees. Then we go to the nursery and learn even more about the care and need for trees. An excellent book!
The illustrations b Helena Pérez García are clear, colorful, and representative.
Well suited for reading WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting to anyone, and especially to a school or teacher or your public library!
I requested and received a free temporary e-book on Adobe Digital Editions from Familius via NetGalley. Thank you!

I was drawn to this book do to my love of nature and being outdoors. Carole Gerber provides and opportunity for me to visualize being in her story. The story is told in rhyme which is pleasing to the ear for young readers. It provides readers with information about the trees that are beautifully illustrated in this picture book. At the end of the book there is more information about the types of trees within and "Why we love trees." So, it is a great balance of fiction and non-fiction for our younger readers.

This is a very visually appealing book that will appeal to a wide range of children at home, in the library or at school.
#ATreeForMe is expected to be released April 23, 2024.

Thank you #NetGalley, #CaroleGerber and #Familius for the opportunity to preview this ARC.

If you have a little one who loves trees or wants to learn about them, this book will help them. The story is written with illustrations and at the back of the book there are real pictures the would help your little one identify trees. A cute story for everyone to enjoy!

It's a sweet book that falls a little flat. It has the bones to make a really great story, but needed a bit more. The writing is fine, the illustrations are fine, and the message is fine. It doesn't really stick out from others in this niche genre though.

Mediocre rhyme scheme and illustrations, but I enjoyed it as a budding (hehe) dendrologist. Will give kids some useful information with which to observe the green corners of their urban environment.

This is a beautiful tribute to trees and their importance in our world. I absolutely loved the illustrations - they are so pretty! This would be a wonderful book to read to my students at the school I work at to educate them about trees and overall nature. I especially enjoyed the "Why we love trees" section at the end of this book.

3.5 stars.
A fun book about tree. The illustrations are gorgeous. The colors used really enhance the experience of reading. It makes me want to go outside in the nature and absord the magic of it all.
While reading, I wish it's more. It felt like something missing. But it is educational nonetheless :) I guess the adult part of me wishing for something deeper.

This lovely book follows a father and son as they walk through the woods identifying trees. The descriptions of the tree are good for young readers, I thought the illustration style made it a bit more difficult to see what each tree actually looks like, so was happy to see a chart at the end of the book with photographs of the identified trees. I loved the ending of the story as well!

Thank you NetGalley and Familius for this advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

This is a sweet little book with beautiful ideas and illustrations to take children's interest in, and understanding of, nature - and more specifically trees - up a notch.

I love the textural element that was brought in by discussing how some trees have bark that feels smooth as human skin, while others have a very different feel. The shapes of the leaves and tiny details are also described with care.

The final surprise that the father has for his child provides the perfect ending to this little outing, and a direction as to the next steps in this journey for other children who are interested. Nice job!

A Tree for Me tells the story of a father and son who go into the forest to find a tree to take home. Along the way they explore the sights, sounds and feel of different trees and plants.

Beautifully illustrated, this book is a truly engaging sensory experience. The prose perfectly captures the experience of walking amongst the different trees in a way that is accessible for children. The pictures are vivid and saturated with colour, making this a really engaging read.

This is a great book for children to read with their grownups, and may inspire them to go out and enjoy the nature around them. I really enjoyed the facts at the end of the story.

Thank you Familius and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed are my own.

What a great book to read with the children in your life. It’s all about a walk in the woods where you learn about trees. It was great to see a crepe Myrtle, as we have one in our yard.

This is a wonderful book that children will enjoy reading and looking at, but which is also so informative. We take a walk with a young boy, his dad and dog as they visit different trees and learn how to identify them. The facts about each tree are in rhyme and its easy to imagine these becoming long remembered bits of wisdom. Beautiful poetry and beautiful artwork to match bring this book alive. There is also information at the back of the book about various trees including a photographic guide and links to explore further. This is a book to revisit over and over and to instil a love of trees in children.

I loved this! I love how nature books for children are encouraging the future generation about nature and the beauty it holds. I also love the relationship between the child and father.

This book was great! I love books that encourage conservation & care of our environment. I love that this book encourages exploring in nature, but more importantly exploring nature with a loved one! In this book, a little boy and his dad visit a nursery, and plant a tree together! This book encourages curiosity about the world around us, and how to take good care of it! Taking the time to enjoy nature & investing in our world by planting always makes me smile! I think every child should be exposed to God’s wonderful creation to bask in the glory of it!

Once again, I enjoyed the illustrations, but they weren’t my favorite. I think strong illustrations really shine in children’s books to help convey the message.
