Another thought provoking Nicholas Sparks book - this time the main character Tanner was an Army Ranger who has come back to his hometown after the death of his beloved grandmother. On her deathbed, she tells him something she has kept to herself for many years. Tanner travels to Asheville, NC for a little rest & relaxation before heading to his next security assignment in Africa. He does not expect to meet Kaitlyn Cooper. Tanner spends his time doing research on this family secret, hiking and becoming close to Kaitlyn & her children. When an elderly neighbor needs help, Tanner steps in and along the way discovers more about himself.

Another great read by Sparks. Anyone that enjoys his books are sure to enjoy this one as well. This will make a good book to read this fall!

One of the best. Oh my goodness. I read this whole book in less than 24 hours. I haven't read a book in a long time, as I was listening to more on Audible, but reading a book is sooo much better. The characters were so clear in my mind and the references to the past were seamless. When Arlo protected Jasper, I panicked anticipating a not great/sad ending because let's face it, rarely does the perfect character make it out alike in these books, but...it was amazing.

This book was fabulous! I was hooked right away and couldn't get it out of my mind when I had to put it down.
These characters were so well created, I felt like I knew them in real life. I felt their fears and struggles, I rejoiced in their victories.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone I know.

*I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own *

I am a huge fan of Nicholas Sparks and this one did not disappoint. AT ALL. I was taken on a journey that was a little more on the religious side than in his previous novels, but all the same it was a wonderful story. I had a few tears after reading this as his novels always bring up the emotions.

3.5/5 ⭐️
I was very excited when I got this ARC from NetGalley and couldn’t start reading it fast enough. I have been a fan of Nicholas Sparks for a very long time. Counting Miracles is a very sweet story, unfortunately it felt a bit long for me and the romance between the main characters felt a bit force to me. I still love his writing and will keep reading anything that he comes up with.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this book.

Another best seller for Nicholas Sparks for sure! His writing is so emotional and he contains so many highs and lows. Always a roller coaster ride that leaves you wanting more. Had me second guessing myself at every turn.

Nicholas Sparks never dissapoints. A must read for everyone!

Highly recommend.

Five stars plus.

Another fantastic must read Nicholas Sparks book. It made me cry and I just want to hug Jasper. I fell in love with all the characters and their stories. An emotional ride for sure but so beautiful. A lot of biblical imagery and storytelling in this one with parallels of Jasper and Job. I enjoyed that.

As a collector of Nicholas Sparks novels, I was just a tad bit disappointed by this novel. There are two different storylines are at play and I couldn't connect with either character. This novel wasn't advertised as religious, but there are many themes of religion that were mentioned and Faith is a huge topic throughout the story. The romance between the love interests felt rushed and didn't feel thought out when compared to Sparks' other novels. I don't find myself reaching back to this novel, but I'd recommend it to patrons who are looking for a Nicholas Sparks novel that focuses on faith, trust, and religion. Not one of his best, but it's definitely a Nicholas Sparks novel because of the common plot of two characters falling in love with a side story that connects all characters together in the end, possibly by faith or serendipity.

Nicholas Sparks has always been one of my favorite authors, his style of storytelling pulls you in and the cadence plus the pace are always on par. I loved Counting Miracles, and can't wait to have a copy on my shelf. This one is a keeper.

Nicholas Sparks is one of my favorite authors due to his remarkable storytelling and I have read every single one of his books. He is one of those authors that I automatically buy his books.
Each of his books takes you on an emotional rollercoaster where someone falls in love and somehow breaks your heart with a trade by along the way. This story is no different, although the twist in the end was very obvious, I still thoroughly enjoyed the book and could not put it down. This book has quite a bit of bible references, which is part of the story but could be bothersome if you are not religious.
A special thanks to NetGalley for allowing me access to advanced copy. This is bound to be a hit on the best seller list! Mark your calendars for the release in September 2024.

Told from the perspectives of Kaitlyn, Tanner and Jasper (along with Jasper’s loyal dog Arlo), Sparks wove their stories together while Tanner was on the search to learn more more about his father. Unplanned events lead Tanner to meeting Kaitlyn and sticking around Asheboro longer than anticipated. With the story taking place in Asheboro & Uwharrie, it provided a different landscape than several of his other novels revolving around coastal towns.

I was quickly drawn into the characters and wanting to learn more - potentially more about Jasper’s heartbreaking past than the others which I did not expect. While Kaitlyn & Tanner’s relationship did move faster than those in previous books, they both had complex histories that had to be worked though as they explore any possibility of a future.

Sparks has always been one of my favorite authors and this book is another wonderful read. Thank you to Net Galley & Nicholas Sparks for an Advanced Reader Copy of Counting Miracles.

Nichola Sparks is by far my favorite author and this book is just one more reason for that. He knocked it out of the park! He has such a way with words that I was not able to put this one down. I would recommend this to everyone.

Firstly, I want to give thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book.

As always, I enjoy every Nicholas Sparks book I read. I had a little harder of a time connecting with the characters in Counting Miracles, but I was unable to put the book down and just had to know what happened with the story. The way Sparks intertwines characters and keeps you wanting more to the story is something he is good at. This is a beautifully written book and although it isn't my favorite by him, it is easy to immerse yourself in the lives of the characters and see the story he is trying to tell.

First off, thank you Netgalley/Random House for an early copy of this book!

Nicholas Sparks has been one of my favorite authors for quite sometime now. His books are always a preorder, his movies always a must watch. That being said, this one fell flat for me. I gave it a 2.5 rounded up to 3 stars. If you've read any Nicholas Sparks, you know what you're in for in all of his books. It's fast romance, down on their luck, struggling main characters on issues that run a wide gambit.

I loved the backstory of the main male character, Tanner Hughes. What I didn't love though was any of his direct dialogue with the main female character, Kaitlyn. Their conversations felt very unnatural and monotone. The dialogue never felt real. As far as their relationship? So fast it felt unrealistic.

This isn't the first book in which Sparks has thrown in a little religious aspect (i.e. A Walk to Remember, etc) but I was not prepared for the amount it would play into this story. The religious contotations was more than I was expecting and felt off with the other parts and storylines.

Sadly, this book was not a win for me.

Wonderful Nicholas Sparks novel with drama and romance. It was the perfect full circle story that spans generations. Kaitlyn and Tanner fall into a connection that will last a lifetime!

What an interesting story and felt a bit different to me than other Nicholas Spark's books. This novel follows 3 main characters- Tanner, who just lost his grandparents who raised him and comes to town searching for his biological father who he just found out about, Kaitlyn- divorced mom of 2 and town doctor and Jasper- an elderly man who has a heartbreaking story and lives alone with his dog. I love how all their lives intertwined and the history to it all. Great book!

Here we go….another emotional rollercoaster ride courtesy of Nicholas Sparks! As expected, his upcoming fall release is a page-turner that's practically glued to your hands. While the ending might not be the biggest mystery, Sparks still manages to tug at your heartstrings with his signature romance and sprinkle of biblical truths. Warning: tissues required for the epilogue! Thanks to NetGalley for the advance copy; this one's definitely worth the read!
