A good read but not as gritty as I was expecting. More of a thriller than a gangland. I enjoyed that the story is told from multiple pov which keeps the book fast paced and engaging.

It was certainly left on a cliff hanger............ there may be more to come, i wonder?. I couldnt wait to read this and i wasnt disappointed.

When they get a job at Edens nightclub as a singing act Lily is overjoyed, Daisy not so much. Their parents have always favourited Lily over Daisy, Daisy rebels...... An instant attractuon between Daisy and club manager Mackenzie could have dire consequences. Like what???
This is gritty, a great storyline, something that kept me hanging on wanting more. I would highlyrecommend. Great Job!!!!!!.

A great new gangland novel from Stephanie Harte.
A good read, yes a bit of a predictable storyline but enjoyable nonetheless.
Daisy and Lily Kennedy are identical twins but that is where their similarities end. Two very different personalities. They are a singing double act who end up working at the Eden nightclub. Daisy unfortunately gets in well over her head resorting in both girls being in serious trouble. Written from both girls views it’s is a gritty read.

Being a big fan of Stephanie Harte's books, a new book in a new series was just what I was waiting for.
Daisy and Lily are identical twins, but that's where the similarities end they are different in so many ways.
They are driven by their dad Des to make it in the music industry,something he failed to do in his younger years,and when they get their change to perform at Edens nightclub things are going well but throw in a handsome manager and a rather sleazy owner things take a horrible turn for the worse.
When one twin is kidnapped, the other soon realises that they need to find them no matter what they have to do.
I found this a good read not as ruthless as some of her other books have been but I'm hoping that will change as the series continues.The ending was a bit abrupt but definitely leaves you on tenderhooks for the next book.

Gritty gangland page turner about the twins can’t wait to read more by this author

This is my first book by this author and I wasn’t disappointed. Daisy and Lily Kennedy are identical twins but that is where their similarities end. Two very different personalities. They are a singing double act who get to have a spot at nightclub Eden which is run by renowned Samson Fox along with manager Mackenzie. When Daisy finds herself involved and dragged into the more unsavoury side of things she soon realises that she has brought trouble into their lives and both girls could be in real danger. I liked how this was written from different perspectives, although mainly Daisy’s. It gave a real sense of how each character ticked and you’re able to get a much better sense of their personality. A great read and I’m looking forward to the next one. Thanks to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for the ARC

I was born an identical twin and like any books about twins. I am not keen on anything to do with drugs though. However, that was woven into the story, but it was the part I was least interested in. It did add something dark to the story.

Lily and Daisy were interesting characters and I found Samson unlikeable and Mac as well, but saw a different side to Mac once he was with Daisy.

The Kennedy family are realistic. Double Trouble reminded me of a grittier, darker version of Sweet Valley High, as Daisy reminded me of Jessica Wakefield and Lily reminded me of Elizabeth. The music parts and the club reminded me of Coyote Ugly.

All in all, Double Trouble was very enjoyable.

I decided to step outside my normal reading choices with this one, and I am glad I did.

Double Trouble by @stephanieharteauthor is a mystery/thriller about identical twins Lily and Daisy who recently scored a gig at live music club, but have also found themselves in the middle of a drug ring that is currently experiencing some hard times. They don't realize just how much danger they are in until Lily mysteriously disappears.

This book is written with multiple alternating perspectives, most prominently: Daisy, their father Des and the club manager MacKenzie. It does jump around a little bit, but is mostly chronological and fairly easy to follow. I liked the slow reveal of information, but am not a huge fan of drug related crimes - really any crimes, I'm a bit of an easy scare haha, but I survived this one just fine. I did like the relationship between Mac and Daisy and the strained family dynamics of the Kennedy family. Overall it was a really interesting, multi-perspective story that came together in the end and left me thinking about this strange club and this interesting cast of characters long after I put the book down.

I thought from the premise of this book would be my kind of read. It is, and I think Double Trouble is written well and is a good, easy read. It didn't wow me or have me desperate to know more though. I struggled to like or be able to connect with all of the characters in the story which ultimately affected how much I enjoyed this read. I felt I didn't really care about any of them, although I loathed some characters more than others. I liked the story being told through different characters and their perspectives and in my opinion for a gangland crime book it is quite tame and it lacked the edginess, grittiness and violence that I've grown accustomed to in this genre. The story has current themes of drug trafficking and people trafficking which are believeable to read but .... for me there was something missing - I'd have liked the plot line to have more tension, thrills and suspense - at times I found myself skimming pages as I'd lost interest in the story. The ending sets up the second book nicely and I'd probably want to read it to find out what happens to Daisy and Lily.

Father Des forces them both to perform in the nightclub Edens.
This is one full on gangland series with a great start. It's so unputdownable you will get hooked. Gripping right through.
I loved it.

Lily and Daisy Kennedy are twins with a pushy father and a mother who also failed to make a singing career . They end up singing in a nightclub but they don’t know half of what goes on. Daisy starts to like the manager of the club but he’s not who he seems and when something happens to Lily she dosnt know who to trust or where to turn. She finds her self dragged into the seedy underworld of crime but is she in over her head.
Looking forward to the next book in this gripping saga.

Another great read from Stephanie harte reply couldn't put this book down it was so good but I was a little disappointed with the ending .

I read this in a day. I couldn't put it down. Enjoyed the characters and the story was amazing. The writing was excellent and I hope that there's more to come from this author

Two exiting things before I even opened the book. This is a new author for me and I am honored to be able to read the first book in a new series.

Lily and Daisy are identical twins on the outside, but they could not be more different on the inside. Lily is the quiet one and Daisy makes noise enough for both of them and where twins normally have an unbreakable bond, these two girls are most certainly not the best of friends and there are only two people to blame for that.

Whilst trying to make an honest income, they find themselves in a few seedy and even outright dangerous situations. The question is: how will they handle it without landing themselves even deeper in it or is this wishful thinking?

For me gangland crime stories have to be brutal and I honestly have to say it was maybe all a bit to soft for me. I missed the vicious boss and the scheming, with twists and turns that make my head spin. But on the other hand I also have to admit, the book intrigued me and I had a good time reading it.

I also had the feeling this was the warming up and I think and hope the heat will be turned on in the next book. So, yes, I cannot wait to find out where the second book will take me and I can only say this story had an I-want-more kind of vibe. 

This book gets a well deserved 4 stars, because at the moment it misses a bit of pizzaz for me, but I have the feeling the author is going to open a can of spices to add the next ones.

The book had many twists and turns, I had so many questions whilst reading the book and I was dying to find out what would happen next so it was extremely easy to get lost amongst the pages! This book was so gripping and intense I read it in a day!

Overall, a fantastic book with lots of suspenseful moments that will keep you turning the pages well into the night! 😊
