My family is thoroughly enjoyed this Mindfulness book series! Mindfulness and Nature is a fantastic book for encouraging young kids to slow down, pay attention, and grow curious about the world outside (and within!). The illustrations are colorful and diverse, the text is accessible and the perfect amount for early elementary age kids, and the activities are delightful. I highly recommend this series for parents, teachers, and other caregivers who want to encourage mindfulness in their children and families.

Thank you to Mayo Clinic Press Kids for gifting my family with an ARC to review! We really enjoyed it.

This book is geared towards kids who are in about Kindergarten through third grade although that is is no way proscriptive. It 0ffers an easy to understand look at mindfulness and suggests nature related activities that children can do. Just a few of the sections include Seeing the World Anew; Your Mind, Your Senses; Nature’s Colors; and Nature’s Journey.

There are good activities in these apges that will help kids to perhaps slow down, observe and learn to live in the present. In addition, the book’s illustrations are engaging and go well with its theme.

This title could be helpful to most children in my opinion. Buy it for a kid you care about.

Many thanks to Mayo Clinic Press Kids and NetGalley for this title. All opinions are my own.

I previously enjoyed reading Mindfulness and My Emotions and was happy to review this ARC about Mindfulness and Nature. I love how the two ideas go hand in hand. This book helps children, and adults, learn to connect with nature. It helps them see that slowing down and enjoying their world around them can help them to reconnect with nature, while also finding calmness for themselves. I learned alot from this book. It is packed full of ideas, information, activities and inspiration that children as well as adults can use to help them reconnect to nature. It will help children to better appreciate nature and what our senses can discover. I love how it points out the many things in nature that help us and better our lives. The illustrations are very child friendly, bright and colorful. The book invites children to be involved with nature and their world. Your family will enjoy sharing this book together. It is also wonderful to share in the classroom. Enjoy this wonderful book.

This book is all about how to connect to nature via mindfulness! By slowing down, being outside and using your senses, I didn't anticipate how many practical activities and ideas this book would have.

I found this book to be an excellent resource for children and even adults!

Thank you NetGalley and Mayo Clinic Press Kids !

An excellent addition to library collections in advance of this year's summer reading theme: read, renew, repeat. While it does not deal directly with conservation, there are ideas that tie into appreciating the natural world and getting outside. One example is the treasure hunt in your favorite spot which prompts readers to find something soft, something hard, something you find beautiful, etc. There are also pages dedicated to educating oneself about mindfulness, while others focus on specific and accessible exercises. Additional examples of an these exercises are cloud gazing, mindful coloring, and telling a story through movement.

Another book by this team of writers that I can add to my SEL library. Focusing on outdoor exercise to self-regulate could work positively with students who feel restrained or trapped indoors.

This was a fun book to read with my young son! After reading the first few pages my son was begging me to take him outside so he could participate in forest bathing. The book is full of a lot of fun ideas go discover and enjoy nature with your children. The illustrations are bright and colorful!

"Mindfulness and Nature" is a great introduction to mindfulness for kids. There are so many great activities for kids (and adults!) to try and to practice mindfulness. Each activity or exercise has a little description of how and why they help with mindfulness or how they affect and help the body. It encourages asking questions, exploring, and truly experiencing the world around us while noticing how it affects us.

I look forward to using the book regularly with my kids, especially as we begin to spend more and more time outside enjoying the weather! The tips are easy to understand and apply. The illustrations are super kid friendly and eye catching! Even the youngest kiddos will be enchanted by the colors!

1000 Hours Outside families, this is a great resource for you! Teach your kids all about mindfulness while enjoying the great outdoors!

I really enjoyed "Mindfulness and Me" and really loved taking the components of mindfulness outdoors with Mindfulness and Nature. This is perfect for anyone who is working with young children on mindfulness concepts who also LOVE being outside. The activities and exercises lay the foundation for lifelong mindfulness habits. Highly recommend. Thank you NetGalley and Mayo Clinic Press for the chance to review this beautiful ARC.

I truly loved the uniqueness and creativity this story had. From the words to the pictures this story was fantastic! I do however think it’s a little wordy for a younger child to read in their own, but would be perfect to have a caregiver read to them.
