Twenty years ago, nineteen year old Sophia waved goodbye to her twelve year old sister Megan, promising that she would be back for her soon, that was the last time Megan saw her, until a couple of years ago when she reappeared in her life. Megan has been married to Mark for many years and, after many failed attempts, is desperate for a baby so, when Sophia offers to be their surrogate, she thinks all their prayers have been answered but Mark seems unsure. As the pregnancy progresses, secrets from twenty years ago are revealed and Mark is acting very strangely, Megan is beginning to wonder if she should have listened to her husband, can her sister really be trusted?
Sometimes a book comes along that squeezes your heart to within an inch of its life and leaves you feeling emotionally bruised, She Has My Child is THAT book! Told from the perspectives of Megan and Sophia in alternate chapters, Robinson takes us on a journey that I was certain could only have one outcome and I was desperate to be proved wrong. This story highlights how precious the gift of life is and what it means to be given the chance to become a parent but, with that comes risks and consequences and this is all laid bare in a heartwrenching story which, as always, this hugely talented author writes with compassion and integrity and had me racing through the pages to see if Sophia would come through for her sister. I have to admit my heart was in my mouth on more than one occasion throughout this harrowing tale. Robinson delivers every time she puts pen to paper and once again she does not disappoint, huge five stars from me!
I'd like to thank Bookouture and Netgalley for the auto approval, I will post my review on Goodreads now and Amazon on publication day.
If you are a mother this book will definitely hit you in the feels. I wasn't expecting to get so emotional reading this book but the author explained the love experienced between mother and child with such descriptive detail I felt Megans pain at not being able to bear a child. Sophie, Megans sister, had agreed to be Megans surrogate but complications arose when the covid virus pandemic caused the world to lockdown. Megan and Sophie had both been keeping secrets from their childhood that made the complicated situation they were in even more emotional and heartbreaking. I enjoyed this book so much I am now going to check out the rest of this authors books.
What a plot! One psychological thriller with happy end and hope for the humans that heart of mother doesn’t have comparison. I enjoyed the book and was somehow sad when I came to the last page . It is must read ! It is a great journey into the soul of parenting, motherhood and family feelings.
I’d like to thank Bookouture and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘She Has My Child’ written by Emma Robinson in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
All Megan has ever wanted is for her and her husband Mark to have their own baby but it isn’t until her older sister Sophia offers to be their surrogate that she dares to hope. Just weeks before the baby is due to be born the pandemic and lockdown arrives and affects their plans.
‘She Has My Child’ is a beautifully written novel of two women as they await the birth of a much-wanted baby. This story is an emotional rollercoaster as the topical Covid pandemic keeps the sisters apart with their only contact being via video link. The sisters are wonderfully described showing the true depth of love between them despite being estranged for twenty years, and I’ve empathised with Sophia as she comes to the most difficult decision she’ll ever have to make. This is wonderfully moving story that has a perfect ending and I wholeheartedly recommend it.
I got hooked on @emmarobinsonuk books last year and was beyond excited to get to review her upcoming book She Has My Daughter.
Twenty years ago Sophia left home and never cam back. One year ago her little sister Megan reached out to her, and she returned for the first time. Struggling with fertility Megan is surprised when her formerly absent sister offers to be her surrogate. But circumstances beyond Megan’s control will leave her terrified and vulnerable and wondering if trusting her sister with her baby was a terrible mistake.
I love @emmarobinsonuk books because they always go left when I think they are going right. This one was no exception (well almost) and I love watching the emotional layers slowly unfurl the more you read. Sister relationships can be so emotionally charged and complex, and this book captures that beautifully. And throw in struggles of infertility and motherhood, and a few relationship issues and you have a book that is both heartbreaking and uplifting.
Look for this one March 26 2024
Thank you to @netgalley and @bookouture for letting me review this one a little early.

This is one hell of an emotional rollercoaster of a book. Honestly before you read this make sure you have plenty of tissues as you will go from having tears in your eyes to crying your eyes out. Aswell as being emotional it is a really heart warming story.
Absolutely loved the characters they are characters that I think people will relate to especially if you have a sister.
Very well written and I will definitely be recommending this book.
SHE HAS MY CHILD is another outstanding and heart-wrenching work of women’s fiction by author Emma Robinson. Megan and Sophia are two sisters that have been estranged for many years after a traumatic event in their childhood that is not revealed until later in the book. Megan, the younger sister, hasn’t seen her sister in over 20 years when she reenters her life and they reconnect. Sophia learns that Megan and her husband Mark have been experiencing infertility and offers to serve as a surrogate for them.
The novel begins as Sophia is in the last weeks of her pregnancy… and covid lockdown happens, separating Megan and Mark from Sophia and the baby they are hoping to welcome into their lives in a different country. This book had so many interesting angles and emotional twists and turns. It’s been a few years now since covid happened and now that we’ve all had a bit of space to emotionally decompress, it’s easier to read books set during that time period and have it be an interesting plot point rather than something that draws a stress reaction, and I liked this twist, but I also felt for Megan and her visceral pain at being separated from her baby, especially when she’d waited for this for so long.
The POV trades off between her and Sophia and you also feel for Sophia, experiencing feelings of bonding and attachment to her child she wasn’t anticipating when they’re forced to go through lockdown together. There are even more twists as Megan and Mark experience things together as a couple during lockdown… and it was just really well done and emotional! I wasn’t sure how things were going to end and was biting my nails in a few places. Emma Robinson is definitely a favorite author and this was a great one! 5/5 stars.
Disclaimer: I received a complimentary ARC copy of this book from NetGalley and Bookouture for review purposes.
Wow this author has done it again and completely blown me away with this book and taken me on an emotional rollercoaster of a read. I knew the minute this book landed on my kindle that I wouldn’t get anything done until I had read it and I was as always hooked from the first page.
This is a story of family and the lengths that they will go to for each other and is a thought provoking and emotional read which covers the issues of infertility in a very sensitive and compassionate and empathetic way.
I have said this before and will say it again but this author has a real knack of ripping your heart to pieces while reading and then slowly piecing it back together again and this story was no exception.
Looking forward to their next book already
Sisters Megan and Sophia have a complicated relationship and when Sophia offers to be Megan’s surrogate, things get even more complicated.
I really enjoyed reading this book, it was emotional and compelling story filled with complicated relationship issues.
She Has My Child had me from chapter one and I felt so many emotions for the characters.
This was not exactly the type of book I was thinking it was, I thought it was going to be more of a suspense book and it is an emotional family drama. But this is one I’m glad I read this year. One criticism is I feel like books taking place during Covid should have a heads up and possibly trigger warning.
Emma Robinson has written a fantastic book.
Based around a couples inability to have a child together. they received an offer to do surrogacy for them from the sister. this book is full of betrayal and trust issues.
It's at times a heart wrenching read that I am sure resonates with the fears thst some people have if considering a surrogacy option.
Emma Robinson book always have a magical ability to make me cry. I don't cry at books very often, but books by this author I know it's a guaranteed tear jerker.
The story of Megan, Mark and Sophia is beautiful. A story about family and the lengths they will go to for each other.
Once again the most prominent theme in this book, is women supporting women. I love this about Emma's books. Whether it is female siblings or friendships the female always shine through the most. It makes all of the storylines very relatable and easy to get sucked into.
Thank you Emma, for giving me a reason to cry when I needed it most and didn't even realise. I will always cherish your books for this reason. They always touch me in a space in my heart and stay with me for a very very long time.
I went into the book with a preconceived notion of what the plot line would be. Boy was I wrong. The story was compelling from the first chapter, and drew me in quickly and completely. Every time I thought I had the main characters’ motives figured out, I was proven wrong. This was a heart wrenching tale of love and loss. Emma Robinson hit this one out of the ballpark.
This was a sweet and heart wrenching story about two sisters in a difficult situation. I loved seeing how they were able to work to repair their relationship, and their love for a special baby was fierce. This story happens during the pandemic, and it reminded me how different our lives were during this time! I really enjoyed this one.

Megan and Mark have been have been wanted to start a family but it hasn’t happened yet. However, Megan’s dreams may now happen as her older sister Sophie offers to be a surrogate,
The sisters have never been close as Sophie left home when Megan was only twelve.
The cover hints – perhaps Sophie cannot be trusted. So I wasn’t sure this was going to have a happy ending
What recourse would Megan have if Sophie decides to keep the baby?
While all this is going on Covid restrictions separate everyone and is especially difficult as Megan wants to be available when Sophie delivers the baby.
I had mixed emotions in reading this I feared Megan was doing to get hurt and knew I would be hurt as well- yet I couldn’t put it down.
I read a lot of thrillers and there is always a “Big Reveal’ well there are big reveals in this story as well.
But I not going to it spoil this - I believe you will enjoy it and need to read this!
This author is new to me so I read her short – About the Author Bio ~
~Emma Robinson is a USA Today Bestseller with a passion for stories which explore the power of family and friendship in the most

Thank you Bookouture and Net Galley for an Exceptional, Captivating, TEAR JERKER of a Novel!!!!!!!! What an Interesting Plot, brought back sooooooooo many memories of Covid and year 2020. I wonder if that had actually happened in that time frame, what a heart breaker if it did. There were soooo many emotions running through me but mostly tears especially with Elise. My heart broke as I thought about Sophia and Megan and both of their feelings. this was one of the BEST books I have ever read, thank you again and to you Emma Robinson.
3.5 but rounding up. another arc book so exciting!! idk why but i feel like the cover and title are a little misleading. going into this i fully expected it be a thriller and suspentional kindve of book. and it wasn’t, it was following a life drama. which was good! i just was expecting a big plot twist or some villain arc idk.

Megan and Mark are desperate for a child of their own, but years of trying are in vain, they just can’t conceive. Luckily for them, her estranged sister Sophia offers herself up as a surrogate mother. After some hesitation, they accept.
They live in different country tries for the time being when covid happens. This is a domestic drama, for some reasons I was expecting a thriller. But I still enjoyed this a lot. It shows the different layers of family and sisterly ties.
Be prepared for an emotional roller coaster.l, it even broke my heart a little bit. A definite recommendation.
⭐️Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for my advanced copy. All opinions are my own, I was under no obligation to review.
This author can do no wrong for me another beautiful heart-breaking family drama extremely well written. All the characters were so well described I just really enjoyed following their story, just brilliant.
It was definitely a page turner for me from beginning until the great ending, I would love to see a follow-up to these characters to see how their story developed.
Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC which I can thoroughly recommend.
"She Has My Child" is another captivating tear jerker by Emma Robinson! This book is about two estranged sisters, the chapters alternating between each sister, and how their childhoods and adult lives are so very different. When Sophia offers to be Megan's surrogate, Megan thinks it's the answer to all her problems, but oh boy does it only begin there! Written with so much emotion and so many twists I simply couldn't put it down!
