Through NetGalley, I received a free copy of DEATH AT THE DRIVE-IN (Book 13 of the Southern Ghost Hunter mystery series) by Angie Fox in exchange for an honest review. Verity Long’s ghost pal Frankie is in despair. Another ghost has overshadowed and is eating the soul of his loyal ghost girlfriend. In order to save the love of Frank’s death, Verity will have to solve the 1956 disappearance and murder of a local girl Kitty Cunningham. This will involve exploring a derelict drive-in, motel, and Irish gangster bar. It will also mean Verity will have to navigate her way through meetings with dangerous people, both living and dead. This time, Verity will get an unlikely substitute for her boyfriend’s usual assistance.

I like this book and the series. I recommend the book to fans of the series and the series to fans of paranormal cozy murder mysteries featuring mediums, ghosts, mobsters, and mysteries from the past.

Angie Fox's Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries series just keeps getting better with each instalment. Death at the Drive-in is no exception, and Fox has once again provided a fun to read book that has the perfect amount of humour to offset the action and danger that the characters get into, while dealing with serious issues such as relationships and criminal behaviour.
The book is in turn hilarious and suspenseful, and the storyline moves along at a good clip, keeping you tuning the pages anxiously to find out how it ends.
If you haven't read this series, you need to put it on your to-read list now!
I was happy to receive an ARC of #DeathattheDriveIn from #NetGalley.

Death at the Drive-In by Angie Fox takes us back to Sugarland, Tennessee where Verity and Frankie need to solve a cold case so they can save someone close to them. The story was entertaining from beginning to end. I laughed, giggled, and smiled. Lucy, Verity’s pet skunk, is a sweetheart (she is a scene stealer). I thought it was cute that Verity was teaching Lucy a scaled down version of a dog agility course. Lucy is one clever little skunk. Frankie is up to his normal mischief. Verity’s backyard will soon be very cluttered (well, the ghost version will be). The author brought the drive-in to life with her vivid descriptions. It reminded me of my childhood visits to the drive-in with my family. We got to meet some interesting ghosts with my favorite being Verity’s old Sunday school teacher. Verity and Frankie had a clock on this mystery. Things were kept lively (life is never dull with Frankie around) thanks to Frankie and the gangsters. Someone unexpected joins Verity & assisted her with this spooky case. I was delighted (you will have to read the book to find out who) and enjoyed seeing a different side of this person’s personality. Frankie was a hoot (I loved his reaction when Verity requested his help on a clandestine mission). We did not get to see much of Ellis this time around. The one thing I did not like was the repetitive details (I got it the first time). The ending was sweet and nicely wrapped up the story. While Death at the Drive-In is the thirteenth book in The Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries, it can be read as a standalone. Death at the Drive-In is an entertaining tale with a girlfriend dilemma, a shaky still, a cold case, gang grudges, a serious Sunday school teacher, a surprising sidekick, and a killer conclusion.

The ghost of a murdered teenager invades Molly’s ghostly form and Verity and Frankie are going to do their best to help Molly and the murdered young woman. But soon they find themselves involved with the Irish mob and, even worse for Verity, Virginia. Can Verity survive this one? It’s going to be a close call with Virginia is such close proximity.

Another great entry in this fun paranormal cozy series. Verity and the gang make each and every entry fun and I can’t wait for the next one to drop the second I finish a book. It’s that enjoyable.

Thanks to NetGalley and Author Collective 20 for an eARC of this next installment in The Southern Ghost Hunter Mystery series!

4.5 rounded up to 5 stars.

This series is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. It's like a warm hug; it is still in my realm of spooky and macabre, but a very much lightened version with sweet moments and happy endings. The characters are always fun and show growth, and there are many different characters to get to know in each novel, all unique and entertaining in their own ways. I also love that this one (like its predecessor) can be read as a standalone novel, with the author not dwelling too much on the previous books and not giving away other spoilers. However, enough information is given so you have a solid idea of each character and their relationship with Verity.

This installment focuses on Frankie and his girlfriend, another ghost by the name of Molly, and they become involved with the (former) Irish Mob. There is a ton of action and snooping around town, when Verity uncovers some secrets from a previous police raid that happened decades ago, which took out the Irish Mob in Sugarland. There are lots of tense moments, and lots of spooky ghost interactions. I loved Frankie before, but seeing how his friendship with Verity has grown from what it was even in the previous novel was very heartwarming, and I loved it.

This was a wonderful installment to this series.

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook.
Oh my was I so excited to read the next installment from this series! And oh boy was I not disappointed. I absolutely loved this story! It has so many funny laugh out loud moments. Who doesn't love Frankie?! He might be my favorite character. And with the main female character they are absolutely hilarious. I have read most of the books from this series but not all yet and you will never be disappointed with them. I hope the author continues to write more and more from this series. Highly recommend!

Verity is at it again, with the help of her ghostly gangster she heads to a haunted Drive-In to help save a ghostly friend that has been possessed. With fun side notes of her training her pet skunk, and help from her nemesis and boyfriend's mother, this one just kept moving along at a good pace. Highly recommend this book, series and author.

When Molly's ghost gets taken over by a ghost of a murdered teenager Verity and Frankie must work overtime to save her and prevent the girl from draining Molly and Frankie's energy. Verity finds herself knee deep in the affairs of the Irish mob and has to solve the murder of the girl as well as try to reunite her with her fiance who might have played a hand in her disappearance. Unexpectedly Virginia is on hand to provide a helping hand even though Verity isn't too happy to have team up with her almost-mother-in-law.
I read this one in a day, and while Ellis didn't play a big role in the book there was still a lot of action, unexpected twists as well as a very unlikely murderer. Highly recommend and can't wait for the next adventure!

Death at the Drive-In by A. Fox, published by Author Collective 20, is book 13 in the Southern Ghost Hunters Series. The books could be read as stand alones, every book is about another case. But there are cross overs, a lot, and the books are bes read in order.
Verity is a medium, living with her skunk Lucy, her live in ghost Frankie and her boyfriend Ellis.
And this is their newest adventure. Like always, highly entertaing, charmingly witty and fun, at the same time action packed and fast paced. A pleasure reading Verity's latest adventure.

Thank you #NetGalley, Angie Fox and the publisher for a copy of this book.

This was my first dive into “A Southern Ghost Hunter Mystery” and meeting Verity. Although there are 12 more books in this series, Death at the Drive-In can be read as a standalone.

I thought this was a cute cozy mystery. There were some paranormal elements and a little romance which I enjoyed. This is essentially a YA book where we follow the goings on of one ghost possessing another and the journey to save them both. Overall a well paced story.

Thank you, NetGalley and Author Collective 20 for this advanced reader’s copy. I just love this book series and this new edition continues the fun. Verity and Frankie “the German”, her resident ghost/mobster, get themselves into hijinks in every book while they solve a case. This one is no different. There is always laugh out loud banter. Always a ton of fun and I love the dynamics with her boyfriend, Ellis, although definitely not enough of him in this book. I look forward to any antics with the adorable pet skunk, Lucy. I really like seeing how the characters have grown in this series, especially Frankie. This series is an automatic read for me and I’m always excited to see when the new book is going to be released.

Thank you to Netgalley, the author, and publisher for a copy of this book!

If you are looking for a paranormal, cozy mystery, with romance mixed in, look no further. This YA story takes you on a ride of what could happen if a ghost happens to posses another ghost. And the journey to save both ghosts is a page turner.

I had no clue that this was apart of a series, but can definitely be read as a stand alone!
