I really rather enjoyed this book and greatly look forward to reading book two! I love the inclusion of some characters we know from some known tales. We follow Henry (the Royal fairy prince) from boyhood where he realizes his sexuality through experiences with a classmate, to him becoming the Blue Fairy and joining a group of cursebreakers. Henry finds himself with chosen family, including his best friend whom he is also in love with. Their group is given a task that brings Henry pace to pace with his past childhood tormentors. After their quest is done Henry finds himself engaged intimately with an unlikely mate.

I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful photos in this story, the imagery & emotions the author invoked, and falling in this with its magical group of characters.

This story is about a fairy prince, Henry, and his struggles with his desires for men, but also includes some adventure.

There was a lot of world building in the first part, which slowed the progression of the story a bit. But soon, Henry was off on an adventure with several new friends to save some beast girls that had been kidnapped by a group of fairies to be made into slaves.

Throughout the book we also follow Henry’s search for love, but every time he finds someone, it appears his feelings are unrequited.

This is part one in a series, so we don’t see the conclusion to Henry’s story, but it does successfully leave you wanting more.

The story includes 29 anime-style illustrations, which were well done and added nicely to the story.

The one thing I have to note about this one is that at times it felt a bit unpolished, kind of like reading a piece of fan fiction.

This was written in the manner of Japanese light novels, in a slightly naivistic style that’s heavy on telling, with fairly graphic spicy scenes. Narrative was jumpy, but there wasn’t as much unnecessary repetition as in light novels. Illustrations were beautiful and seemed genuine and not AI generated.

There’s basically two parts: prince Henry’s youth and his first love and sex partner, which ends in heartbreak. Then, in an abrupt twist, he’s sent to protect a reincarnated hero. After a 16-year time jump (during which A LOT has happened) the second part is a typical adventure party story where the heroes free captured women.

Henry doesn’t have a luck in love. His first partner is only using him, and his second love is unrequitted, which is bad, because Henry is cursed to die if his love isn’t returned. There’s a second part to the story where things hopefully turn better for him.

This took a little for me to get into mainly because of the worldbuilding which is usually the case with fantasy type books. The manga illustrations were nice to see sprinkled in every so often (though I was secretly hoping they'd be a little more revealing to go with the erotic scenes). Some of the dialog was clunky and very fan-fiction. Overall, not too bad and I'm slightly interested in more.
