The second in this series and yes it is as good as the first one. We come back to the sisters and friends as they plan a wedding plus their lives as they work as Bomber girls. Great to be back with them all and can't wait for the next book to arrive. 5 stars.
Thanks to Netgalley, author and publisher for this ARC
Firstly thank you Netgalley for this Arc
Another brilliant book by this author love that it carries on from the last one although this one is about Thea. Can’t wait to read more
I fell in love with the first book, The Girls of Bomber Command and rapidly grew to like Thea, Pearl and Jenny. They are a fab little trio and seeing them develop from the first book was great.
You can hop straight into this one without reading the prior but I would recommend it to get a better feel for the characters. I love these girls and was rooting for them from the get go.
This one, focusing on Thea, is finding her own feet away from Pearl, her older sister’s overbearing but loving nature. The two are beginning to reconcile their differences however Thea remains with a stubborn streak and battles asking for the help and advice she really needs. She meets Fitz, a rather dashing RAF but as she navigates uncertain waters, old faces from her past rears an ugly head..
It was a great and compelling story and one that had me flicking through the pages in frustration and excitement. It really was an excruciatingly amazing read and I can’t wait for the next one. I think Jenny has more to her story to come!
Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
I enjoyed reading book.
The story is mainly about Thea, and it felt like catching up with old friends.
The story gives you an insight of what the Bromber crew did affected their life, and what they did in order to finish their assignments.
I felt Jack’s story portrayed how some pilots still carry the experiences of what they saw whilst on “tour”.
I also felt that reading about Thea and her past helped understand her reasons for joining the Forces.
I recommend this book.
Another compulsive read from an author who seems to do no wrong. I absolutely devoured this one… You will want to clear your afternoon to read this one straight through!
An enjoyable read which saw Thea take the main role in the second book of the series. Two books in I feel I know the main characters like old friends after they have been so well described and the story so well written. The book helps you to appreciate how dangerous the lives of the Bomber crews were and how they lived to finish their "tour". Jack's part in the storyline was particularly touching and important as it showed how some of the strongest individuals are haunted by past experiences.
I didn't enjoy the storyline relating to the shady character in Thea's past. It did help to explain why she had joined the Forces but I found it a bit far fetched that the chap involved ended up in Lincoln.
I look forward to the next in the series and hope Jenny find happiness. I hope too that Deedee features.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publishers and of course Vicki Beeby for allowing me to read and review an Arc copy of the title.
Thank you @netgalley and @canelo_co for the eARC of A Wedding for the Bomber Girls by @vickibeebyauthor in exchange for an honest review.
📖📖 Book Review 📖📖 It can be difficult to remember that even throughout hardships and war, life moves forward. A Wedding for the Bomber Girls is a heartbreakingly beautiful reminder of hope for the future amidst the turmoil of World War II. Even in the 1940’s, the often dichotomous nature of sisters is brought to light, Pearl is the sister basking in her upcoming nuptials as Thea seems to throw curveballs all along the way. An absolutely wonderfully written trio back in time!
