The book begins with one person and progresses to a whole planet full. The renderings of background of each is line drawings of green on white with the people in full color. The situations support the numbers of people as they grow and grow. Absolutely wonderful!
The illustrations by the author are fun, simple, brilliantly diverse, and delightful.
Well suited for reading WITH someone of any age (6-106) including ESL, and great for gifting to anyone, but especially to a school, church library, or your local public library (or Norwegian grandkid)! If getting as eBook, be sure to get Adobe Digital Editions on laptop for absolutely best effect.

This is an original concept and a hard book to review. The cover makes it look like people are going places but instead you get people at the same place but thinking about different things. For example when a group goes scuba diving, one enjoys feeling weightless, another feels bad for those that will never have this experience, another wants to find treasure and another wants to clear beaches of trash. The numbers increase until it represents all the people on the planet. I like the idea that everyone is on their own journey but I’m not sure how much younger readers will understand that message. Also at the end it becomes a search and find where you are challenged to go back and find certain drawings of people. That is a hard thing to do for a book that is geared for ages 4-8. I would think that older elementary school children may understand the concepts better. Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group-Wide Eyed Editions for the temporary ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.

I loved reading this, it shows that so much is going on in our lives, positive and negative and how we are all on our own journey.

An illustrated guide for us all to help remember that everyone has their own thing going on, whether you can see it or not.

Bonus: you could use this as a coloring book since the illustrations are mainly outlined and only partially colored in already.

This was such an interesting book, I loved its message of empathy and it was executed in an inventive way based on numbers of people. Illustrations are really unique and eye catching. Overall a great concept with an important message that is relayed powerfully.

This was a cute book and I loved the message about empathy and that everyone is going through something different. The sections at the end offered great ways for children to engage with the content even more. You could pick a few different questions each time you read the book. I thought the font was too small and difficult to read for a childrens book. I found myself straining to read. I think it should be larger and in a color that blends in less.

A really heartwarming, insightful book that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. I liked the questions at the back that would really help a child engage with the story.

This book was a spectacular experience. As it starts, it begins with only one person that then grows to all the people on the planet. This progression is a brilliant metaphor used to unite everyone not only on the page but in reality. Because everyone is connected. And the beauty of the pages was highlighted by all the details drawn and given, leading readers to search for little clues and what each person is doing. Because at any given time there is happiness and sadness and mystery and love happening to everyone around the world. And I think that’s beautiful.

I loved the first book in this series, Everybody Counts and so was desperate to read this one. It's brilliant. I love everything about these books and am amazed at how much can be going on at the same time. The planning it must take to create a book like this, where everything means and does something, is phenomenal. There is just so much to do and see and think about. I bought the first book and will definitely be buying this one too and I am sure it will be just as popular.

The artwork was interesting to look at and enjoyable but the text was not my favorite. It was hard to follow why the numbers jumped in the order they did and what the relationship was from one page to the next.

Book that shows diversity I'm many different ways. Loved how the people stand out the most on the illustrations. Perfect book gift for a preschooler and their parents as they can talk about each page. Just wish the text was bigger

Such a charming and unique book! The illustrations were wonderfully detailed. I appreciated that this was far more than just a counting book and showed how interconnected our lives can be. The “Secrets and Answers” section at the back was such a treat and encourages you to revisit the story and dive deeper into the illustrations. It feels like there'll be something new to discover with every read!

This was a cute book - I loved that there were so many activities and Easter eggs in the "Secrets and Answers" section towards the end. I can see this being a fun book to bring along on a long car ride or on a plane to keep younger travelers entertained, as there is plenty to do aside from the first read-through. Here is a wonderful, empathic, gorgeously colorful counting book. It can be used as exactly that but this is also a title that invites discussion as kids and their adults read the text and think about the people in the pages. This book gives a sense of how interlinked we are.

Note too that the end of the book offers questions and activities. All in all, a really nice book.

This is a grewt book to use with children to discuss similaritiies and differences between different people, families, locations etc and I enjoyed reading the text and spotting the people it was talking about in the illustrations.
I alao think there can be a lot of discussion and maybe even story stimulus for some of the people where it says "one person is worrying about" or "one person is thinking about"

I absolutely loved this book because it teaches children about different places and cultures. Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to travel outside of the USA, but its on my bucket list. I can see this being a hit with children who love adventures. It was a very charming and fun read!!

I enjoyed the illustrations and the overall message but I found the font too small - especially for a kids book

Otherwise an enjoyable read

Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for the eARC! This is a cute counting book I like how the people were in different color throughout the book- it makes them stand out, and easier to count. I would have changed the font color to not match the same blue as the rest of the illustrations- it gets lost on the page in my opinion.

From one person to everyone, this whimsically illustrated book shows how we all travel through life, in ways big and small. This book will appeal to a wide variety of ages, from young children who can enjoy the simple, bright illustrations, to older children who will enjoy poring over the details and finding hidden themes (for example, there is a visual element that connects each page to the next one). Many of the secrets are revealed in the back pages of the book, but that will just encourage readers to go back and see them for themselves. Not to mention that at the back of the book, you discover there are many characters who don't merely reappear, but do so as part of their own individual stories. One character appears over many pages as he falls in love, proposes, gets married and goes on a honeymoon. This sort of storytelling detail elevates it above merely another "Where's Waldo" copy and turns this into a deep, many-layered world that shows how our lives all intersect and interweave, even when we don't know it's happening. I was charmed by this book. I think you will be too.

I really enjoyed this title but would love to revisit it in print form. I do not feel the digital format gave it justice. At first I was confused on the skipping of numbers but once re-reading the book I saw I deeper connection and theme. I feel that the book can be read at a simple level or used with higher grade-levels for discussion on tolerance and empathy. I really like the interactive component at the end as both a parent and teacher. This title would be a great addition to any shelf and make a great gift.
