Great read with so many surprises and oh my gosh moments that I just couldn’t stop and reading it and loved the ending.

I’m an Amanda Reynolds super fan and will always pick up her latest book without even reading the blurb. Her style of writing and storytelling is very much my cup of tea as she really captures the drama of relationships and the secrets kept hidden behind the closed doors of “respectable” marriages! And be honest, we all get a frisson of smugness when we find out that all is not perfect behind the flawless and impeccably polished lives of those couples!

Nicola and Matt are one of “those” couples”. He is a dashing doctor and Nic keeps their beautiful home flawlessly styled and their intelligent teenage daughter happy and safe. But problems start rearing their ugly heads when Matt suggests selling the family house amid financial difficulties related to his reputation as a GP. And then Matt goes missing…

It was weird how my emotions were all over the place whilst reading this! Full of unlikeable and untrustworthy characters, I didn’t know who to believe and my thoughts on who to blame for the situation constantly fluctuated between every single one of them! Just how I like it!! There were so many twists and turns and plenty of shocking moments towards the end that kept me reading “just one more chapter” until the powerful moment everything came together.

I went into this book blind but I wasn’t disappointed as it was the great read I have come to expect from Amanda Reynolds. If you read and enjoyed Close to Me (which has a space on my bookshelf that’s reserved for my most favourite books EVER!) then you will love Her Husband’s Lie.

Many thanks to Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources and the publisher Boldwood for my review copy of Her Husband’s Lie and my invite onto the blog tour. Check out what other bloggers think by following them on the schedule below.

I thought the writing style of this one was easy to read and it kept me interested enough however I did find the story quite predictable and a couple of things didn’t feel very realistic and it really pulled me out of the story however I do think the pacing will work really well for other people who might not guess things as early as I did.

Layers of lies is a great subtitle for this thriller. Matt, the husband, is inexplicably missing but did he really leave on his own accord?
Nic, the wife, knows more than she’s letting on and as the truths came out I kept sucking in my breath from disbelief.
I had no idea the book would take the directions it did because I felt the plot would certainly be playing a different tune. Shows you what I don’t know.
It’s a enthralling read and certain to keep readers interest until the last page.

I received an ARC of this one and it was my first book by this author. This book was a struggle to finish. It dragged, and the characters were not likable- and not in the way that you dislike a villain. The overall plot was actually good and I liked the plot twist and ending, but it took a lot for me to power through to get to it.

This is the main reason i love NetGalley it finds new authors that you cannot wait to read more by.

This book didn't disappoint .... it did drag in spots but still made me want to continue to read to find out what was going to happen. In places you were not sure what you were going to find and what new twist was going to happen.

Won't be the last from this author.

Thanks NetGalley for letting me read and review.

It was ok the story gripped me and had me wanting too read until the end too fond out what happened it had a few twists and turns and didnt expect the end it was hard roo relate or have sympathy for nic from the beginning there was just something about the character even as the story progressed. and her history came out.. In fact there werent really any dharacters that i warmed too so its hard too fully imerse yourself when that happens.

Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for this arc..... This book had me biting my finger nails, I could not get through it quick enough and was sorry it ended.. Matt is married to Nicole and has a daughter Lily. Matt is a gynae consultant but some body has reported him to the council .Nicole knows things between her and Matt aren't what they used to be,, but why? When drinking wine 1 night, Matt jokes he could just disappear and Nicole could claim the life insurance, Nicole knows he is joking. Isn't he???? What she doesn't know is Matt is hiding a very large secret and on his daughters 18th birthday he never returns home.. His car was in an accident, but where is he??
This read is not as you think it might be. I was definitely engrossed, is Matt alive? What are his secrets?? 💯 per cent recommend

Her Husband's Lie was just okay for me. The author did create a sense of intrigue regarding where the husband disappeared to and I did want to finish the book for this reason. I did feel it was drawn out at times and bit repetitive. I was expecting a shocking ending but felt let down. You would like this book if you enjoy family drama. Not for me though and not a book I would call memorable.

Thanks so Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC of this book.
Another new author for me which I love finding. Didn't totally love the book as I found it very hard to like the characters and perhaps there were too many. The story built well and the ending was totally unexpected. Will certainly look for more books by this author.

This book does not disappoint . I love the characters and the quick turnaround in the story .

I certainly did not expect that ending . I would definitely recommend this novel and will be interested in reading more from this author.

I normally love books by this author but found this to be quite formulaic. The main characters were not very sympathetically drawn on the whole. Some of the prose was a bit clunky and repetitive e.g. a character is repeatedly referred to as "her rapist's brother" rather than by his name which just seemed a little heavy handed.
Thank you for the opportunity to access an ARC.

Nicole Delaney thinks that she has the perfect marriage. She does not. After her husband Matt confesses that their financial difficulties have them on the brink of bankruptcy and he will soon be disciplined at work for having an improper relationship with a patient. He’s innocent, he tells Nic. She believes him. We know this is a mistake. Then he disappears. He has hinted to Nic that this might happen and she should trust him. Right. As her life falls apart, Nic discovers that Deena Jensen, the woman he was having that relationship with has also disappeared. So has a lot of money. If that weren’t enough, Nic’s angry teenage daughter Lily goes to live with her aunt Grace, Matt’s sister. Problems mount until a very twisted conclusion tells us what has really happened.

All the characters in Her Husband’s Lie are deeply flawed. This domestic thriller is full of lies, lies told to themselves and others. I hope that these deeply unhappy characters find peace. 5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley, Boldwood Books and Amanda Reynolds for this ARC.

Thanks to Netgalley for this arc. This didn’t need such flowery grammar for such a domestic mystery/thriller. Besides the big words and a little grammar errors it was really great and I enjoyed it from start to finish but it would have been better for me if it wasn’t third person. These types of mystery/thrillers are better in first person not third in my opinion and the daughter of Matt and Nicole acted so immature and kinda just really didn’t fit well, the same goes for a lot of the characters which was a disappointment but other than that it was good and fun and fast paced! Fast read too but oh boy! the twists are dang good and even though some were predictable this was such a great popcorn mystery/thriller. I do recommend but there is still the whole thing with the big vocabulary which to me wasn't needed and also minor grammar errors.

This book had me addicted from the start! It was so intense that I could not wait to see the twist. Authot knows how to deliver the breath taking, draw dropping twist that we all know and love and never expect the ending. I believe this book is her best one yet but I say that everytime I read one of her books. Thank you for allowing me to read your book in advance.
