In the final book of the Dresden Codex trilogy, there is nonstop action throughout the whole book. This one felt a little bit rushed to me, but it was still an enjoyable read and a good conclusion. As usual, I love the tie-in with history that Jeff always has in his books. He name dropped a few resources for me to follow up on with research; because that's what ALWAYS happens when I read one of his books!
Final Strike features the final showdown between the Roths and Jacob Calakmul, and has a satisfying ending. Jeff left an opening to return to this story, so there may be more in the future. If you want an entertaining, fast-paced read with a bit of mysticism, try this one out.

Narrated by Kate Rudd ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Story by Jeff Wheeler ⭐⭐⭐⭐

When I started this I quickly realised it was part of a series and I LOVE the doomsday genre so I had to stop this head over to Amazon and promptly buy the first two book.

I loved this series. I'm so glad this fell into my lap. Different from Jeff Wheelers normal work but I definitely recommend this series.

Final Strike, the audiobook, by Jeff Wheeler is and isn't what I thought it would be. The story is one I will definitely be reading for myself.
For me the narration felt robotic at times while at others I felt they were just reading. The voices for some of the characters drew away from the story in my opinion.
FINAL STRIKE is the third in a series and the story did meet my expectations. I didn't have any problems following the storyline and the characters drew you in. Some were disagreeable, others you loved, while still one or two had me asking if they were for real, which is what good books do. They take you away from reality and transport you to a different time and place for a while. As I said, I really didn't have any problems understanding what was going on but I also enjoy reading world/Biblical archeology so I already knew about some of the sacrifices and the games the author was talking about beforehand. It allowed me to imagine more in depth what the people had gone through. Then, Jim Butcher got thrown into the mix and I don't know if it was from the series title or what. I could see old Harry dealing with this.

What an ending to an incredible trilogy! Jeff Wheeler’s first series into the thriller genre did not disappoint. The character development was great, along with many twists and turns. As a reader of Jeff’s Kingfountain and Muriwood worlds, I was drawn to the magic in this series also. I was immediately drawn to Roth’s daughter, Suki. I was drawn into the historic aspects as well, which gave the series a touch of reality. The Jaguar priests and the protagonist’s empire was also very interesting. The details and research that went into this book was well done, and really pulled me into the story. Kate Rudd’s narration was extremely well done, as always. I love the way she portrays each character, and look forward to all of her audiobooks she performs. Another wonderful book, Jeff! I look forward to more future thrillers (hopefully)!

This was a great finale to a series. This book was a great closing and wrapped everything up nicely. This was a well done ending.

It is a fun read, but not one that I thought was incredibly interesting. I would categorize this as a popcorn read, but still not even at the hight of that. I dont really care about the people or the plot and it felt convenient a lot.

4.5 Stars ⭐️

I was excited to finally get to the conclusion of this storyline. I am a huge fan of Mr. Wheeler and he definitely doesn't disappoint with this latest addition. This book takes us to the final conflict with Jacob Calakmul and his crazy band of Jaguar Priests as they attempt to destroy the world as we know it.

I listened to this on audio and Kate Rudd narrates this book as she does with most of Mr. Wheeler's books. I've gotten somewhat used to her narration style and for the most part felt like she did a fairly good job.

The pacing was crisp and quick and the action was non stop. Without going into spoilers, the storyline picks up immediately from where it left off in the last book. Once the story takes off, it really doesn't stop until the very end. I wasn't really sure how he was going to tie up the storyline but I was definitely along for the ride. This book has the entire Roth family involved in one way or another and the interesting thing is that Mr. Wheeler leaves open the possibility of more in this world.

As usual, I enjoyed this book and amazingly, it was over before I knew it.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to and review this ARC. The opinions above are mine and mine alone.
