This book had so many twists and mind blowing moments! This was me 🫨 multiple times through out…I mean 🤯! Loved this book and enjoyed reading it. Very fast paced, I would’ve read it quicker but had other stuff going on! Will definitely be recommending. Thanks to NetGalley and Storm publishing for this advanced readers copy!

Definitely a physiological story between the lives of Mac and Kendall. The things both of them have been through and how they grew up. Shows the trials of being in their 20s and having almost everything just keep going wrong. Was intrigued to finish the story to see what would happen. However some points were confusing and figuring out all the points connected. Characters were also confusing at points.

Excellent thriller with lots of twists. I really enjoyed this and will be reading Angela Henry's back catalogue after this!

Her Pretty Lies is a quick and dirty thriller that will suck you in into its world. I enjoyed Kendall and Mackenzie’s stories, though I wanted more about Mackenzie’s life. And her mum. And dad. Let's be real, I could have read an entire book about her past and her family.

You'll enjoy Her Pretty Lies if you like twisty thrillers about messy relationships, families and people. I had some of it figured out, but Angela Henry definitely tricked me with her 3rd act twists! I loved the ending of the book and wasn't expecting it after everything that had already happened (I know this sounds vague, but keeping it spoiler free!).

Thank you to Storm Publishing & NetGalley for the copy to read and review.

“Call my mom! She’ll tell you I don’t belong here!”
“Honey,” the nurse lifted her skirt and jammed the needle into the meat
of her upper thigh, “who do you think admitted you?”

Okay, so this book ensorcelled me from the very beginning, and what a ride this has been. I love how the characters are chosen and their respective backgrounds. The title keeps you guessing. The writing is not that exceptional, but in most of the thrillers, it does not matter much. The only issue, I had with this is that there were quite a few topics left unexplored, but if you disregard them, the book overall is perfect for a quick thriller read.

“But did I really believe it? Was it really my own fault?”

You often begin to wonder if some of these players are honest or deceitful, which exposes many twists and turns, secrets and lies, betrayal, manipulation, deception, and the abuse of power, wealth, and influence. The character of Kendall is so alluring, and it is so well written. Also, I wanted to know more about what happened with Cal and Kendall besides what was at the end. I do get that this was a mystery thriller genre, but I honestly felt like the romance part was not done great with the aspect of the story. Either, it should have been completed or just not been there at all.

“There’s something that happens to you when you’ve been living under someone’s thumb for so long and you finally find yourself with some freedom. You’ll do anything not to have to go back to that situation.”

There are dual povs, though majorly Kendall covers most of them. The other, Mackenzie or Mac seems I don't know how to put it, but the closest word is an understatement and would I have loved to get her side of the story fully. It is just a bit rushed as her side of the story comes almost at the end of the book.

“Dear Diary,
I know what really happened that night. My dad tried to kill me. I wish he
had.”

3.5 stars ✨
This was a veryyyy twisty book! There were a few things I would have liked to see or read in this book. Personal preference, but I would have loved if the chapters were broken down into smaller ones due to the different things happening in the book. (Plus I like small chapters). Also I wanted to know more about what happened with Cal and Kendall besides what was at the end. Lots of good twists though and I had to reread some things to make sure I wasn’t losing my mind (in a good way).
Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read this book.

Popcorn thriller., fast paced, whodunit. Read Her Pretty Lies in one sitting while I was in a severe reading slump. There was a lot going on in this book - kind of reminded me of a Freida McFadden novel (and I love her books). The ending was slightly messy but wasn't a deal breaker.

I absolutely loved this book! It's a captivating story that follows Kendall as she navigates through some tough times and encounters Mac. The initial dynamic between Kendall and Mac was intriguing, and once I fully understood it, I found myself completely engrossed in the story. The unexpected twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat, eagerly trying to predict what would happen next. The dual point of view added depth and complexity to the narrative, keeping me thoroughly engaged. The intricate interconnections within the plot were masterfully crafted, and I was pleasantly surprised by the cleverly woven elements. This book truly exceeded my expectations, and I wholeheartedly give it a glowing 5/5 rating!

A woman has called 911 and when they arrive the paramedics find a young woman covered with blood, bruises and shaking uncontrollably and then she starts telling her version of what happened When the police and medics come out of the house, their calm and sympathetic faces. are quickly changing to fear!

She should have listened to her instincts and never trusted the charming student whom everyone loved and wanted to live in her shoes. "I had everything I could have dreamed, a two year full paid tuition program for my last two years of graduate school, a boyfriend and a nice apartment. Within a 24hr. period I lost everything and I will now be homeless, my boyfriend dumped me and I will probably have to drop out of school."

"Just when I thought my life is in ruins, along comes an offer that I should resist but I know I won't say no. The dark, dangerous secrets and lies that I unknowingly walked into because I couldn't resist that offer where now I'm sitting on the.doorstep of a scene of horror that I never asked for or did I!"

This book was an entertaining, fun and a very twisted mystery/thriller. The story was full of many surprises and a couple of shocks as well, plus the novel was very well-written and a real page turner where I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. The story seems a little slow while enjoyable at first but when story picks up it becomes a non-stop twist and turn ride that I didn't want to come to an end. I'm looking forward to reading many more of Angela Henry's books in the future!

I want to thank the publisher "Storm Publishing" and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this terrific book and any thoughts or opinions expressed are unbiased and mine alone!

I have given a rating of 4 MURDEROUS AND DECEITFUL 🌟🌟🌟🌟 STARS!!

This was a great physiological thriller, with lots of twists and turns I wasn’t expecting. It read quickly like Frieda McFadden and Ruth Ware novels which I really enjoyed! Thank you NetGalley and Storm publishing for the opportunity to read this book!

✨ Psychological thriller

✨ Kendall has the worst thing possible happen in a day. With no money as the charity pulled for her college fund, breakup , no where to live. Up until her!?
Suddenly ‘Mackenzie ‘ offered her to do a job that is very out of the blue. Up until again she died and the identity was different from what she is saying🤔 very twisted chapters!

✨ well written and not as predictable ending. It was different ..
Good job Angela🫶🏼

Her Pretty Lies is the story of Kendall who suddenly falls into terrible trouble that just keeps getting worse.
She has everything then loses it all.

She is offered the chance at redemption and takes it but even that is a step in the distinctly dangerous path down.

A fast read with twists that keep you turning each page.

I recommend it

I had a good time reading this book. The story is very interesting and even confusing at times, which makes you want to read on to see who did what, and what actually happened.

This book is super twisty, with a lot of things happening at once near the end and storylines that made me scratch my neck and try to figure out how that all worked, but weirdly enough I really enjoyed it and it was a great quick palate cleanser for me.

What I didn't really enjoy is how we, as the reader, were thrown into the middle of the story with a lot of characters and a lot of names to remember. Normally I don't mind it too much, but this was a huge info bomb right at the start, which made the book a bit harder to get into at first.
