In Halfway Home, Myers maps out how to navigate midlife as she encourages herself and readers to reflect on the past and question how we move forward in a “wildly unpredictable and uncertain” future. In these essays, Myers discusses friendship and loneliness; the me too movement; first bras and periods and boyfriends; feminism and witchcraft; motherhood; identity; female beauty standards and aging expectations; and much more.

A pleasant, tender, and honest collection.

I found these stories to be extremely relevant. They made me laugh out loud at times. At other moments I was nodding to myself and saying - me too! I loved the tales the author crafted about this stage in her life. Well done! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

Myers' insights on female camaraderie reminded me of the strength found in solidarity. Additionally, her exploration of the challenges of womanhood in tumultuous times prompted me to consider the broader impact of these issues. Overall, this book charged me to reassess my beliefs and approach life with newfound understanding and resilience.
