I really enjoyed reading this book, it had that tense atmosphere that I was looking for from this genre. The characters were everything that I wanted and enjoyed and thought they worked with the mystery element overall. It has a strong story going on and thought everything fit perfectly. Christine Street has a great writing style and I’m excited to read more.

I can't remember a time when a novel has seduced me as completely as this one. The author explores the healing powers of love in the most extraordinary ways and also its powers to destroy when stretched to breaking point.
Christine Street completely inhabits her characters - Joss, Cal, Ollie, Annie, Jack, Eva, Katie, Tyler - all of them damaged in some way by life's little traumas, as all humans are - and I loved them all with heart and soul.
The plot is complex and deeply affecting. It's dramatic and poignant and evocative, with echoes of 'Rebecca' and 'Wuthering Heights', in a near idyllic Cornish coastal setting. The writing has a haunting beauty and is compassionate and truthful without ever being sentimental, with nail-biting suspense as doubts and fears and tragedy threaten to overwhelm any hope of a happy resolution.
A real contender for my Book of the Year.

The book drew me in from start to finish, with lots of tension, suspense, and twists. Joss is a relatable character, much like real life, trying to keep it all together. The character development is great, the writing is excellent, and the storytelling is amazing. Five stars.
