The hospital by Leslie Wolf is a book about Emily who solves her own crime despite the fact she is laid up in bed cannot move and is blind. I found this book so good and so interesting and although some things I thought were a little too contrite it still doesn’t take away from the awesomeness that ultimately this book is. Emily was married to Steve and when she comes to he is now engaged to 19 year old “Mickey“ a new actress and that is just the first twisty surprise we learn. This is a great book as I said I do want to say one thing however when Emily called her mom and said she would come to visit soon I do want to say I don’t know any mother that would say no don’t come here there’s nothing but sand and dirt stay where you are I don’t come visit,… What mother wouldn’t want to see her daughter? That is just one small grievance and with the coincidental moments that is my only negative of this book it truly is a great book as I said I loved it and highly recommend it for any fan who loves thrillers because you have not read one like this. I want to thank Bookouchur r for my free arc copy via NetGalley please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

BLOG TOUR REVIEW

Review for 'The Hospital' by Leslie Wolfe.

Wow!!! Another absolutely page turning psychological thriller from this absolutely fantastic author!!!!

An absolutely gripping story filled with twists and turns to keep you guessing. It is extremely well written as well as fantastically narrated by the very talented Tanya Eby!! It kept me completely on the edge of my seat biting my nails waiting for the next twist and what was going to happen next. The storyline is realistic, compelling and addictive as well as frightening. I couldn't even begin to imagine what it must have been like and how scary it must have been for Emma to be stuck in a hospital bed not being able to see and to be completely vulnerable having no idea who is in the room with you. The medical aspects of the storyline are intriguing along with the gripping storytelling. It is filled with suspense, secrets, deceit, mystery and everything you could ask for in a fantastic book!!! I could not put it down and ended up devouring it in one sitting of a few hours!! If you have never read any of Leslie's books then you are definitely missing out!!! The fact that Leslie had done her research on medical procedurals shined through the pages!! Well done Leslie on doing plenty of research as it really puts me off a book when the author hasn't done any research and so many simple mistakes are made.

I must say a HUGE congratulations to both Leslie Wolfe as well as the narrator Tanya who did a fantastic job bringing this story to life with their brilliant descriptions and narration. I would listen to it in the car and while walking at any opportunity and Tanya did a fantastic job on both male and female characters voices!!! I'm not only looking forward to reading more books by Leslie but also to listening to more books narrated by Tanya! The characters have a mix of personalities and are all realistic with their own unique personalities. Leslie's descriptions and Tanya's narrative really brings them all to life ensuring you see everything they do and feel everything they are!!

Leslie Wolfe congratulations on yet another absolute page turner! This is exactly why you are one of my favourite authors and here is to your next success 🥂 . I would love to see this turned into a movie!!

Overall an absolutely addictive, compelling page turner that will keep you hooked from beginning to end!!

I thought I was safe here.
I was wrong.

This is quite the twisted thriller. There was definitely fishy business going on. Emma didn’t feel like she could trust anyone. By the end, it proved to live up to that with the reveal of what Emma feared.

Thank you, Leslie Wolfe, Bookouture, & netgalley for my copy! All opinions are my own.

Emma Duncan escaped from a brutal attack. She is now in the hospital. She is struggling to remember what happened. Not only does she not remember. she has lost her vision. The only memory she has at the moment was that she was running from an unknown assailant.

Emma is fairly sure that she is married to a man named Steve, and finds herself quite relieved when the doctor helps her to understand that chunks of her past will begin to unlock. As Emma goes day by day, struggling for feeling, struggling for memory. she is disheartened that growth is slow. This is very terrifying to Emma. Meanwhile, she is secretly being watched.

Imagining Emma in a strange hospital under all of those circumstances was rather chilling. The fact that most affected me was the loss of her sight, and having to depend on her other senses to try to handle things each day, all while struggling to regain her memory.

This psychological thriller by Leslie Wolfe was truly engrossing. It was impossible to put down, especially when just before I read this book I was about to undergo a procedure and had in impending hospital stay. Ms. Wolfe did a fabulous job pulling me into the story and therefore allowing me to project Emma’s unusual circumstances to a real life scenario. Excellent job. Excellent twists. Excellent writing.

Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

This book had a potential to be really great as the premise is so intriguing. And I had a good time reading it, however I didn’t enjoy it as much as I expected.

When Emma Duncan wakes up in a hospital after a brutal attack, with no memory what happened. She is suffering from brain damage and she’s partially blinded. Her memories slowly come back, and she begins to piece things together, though not everything fits together perfectly. She has to find out why somebody tried to kill her. But can she trust people around her?

Although this novel had a fascinating plot and dual POVs between Emma and her stalker was really unique, the pacing was really off here. This is a type of book that will take some time to get into. The first half moved incredibly slowly and had multiple flashbacks inside the same chapters, which left me confused about the past and current timelines.

I really enjoyed the second part of the book! It was fast-paced and captivating, making it impossible for me to put down. The novel was full with amazing turns and twists! I managed to figure out who the stalker was, but I was taken aback by the shocking turn of events at the end.

Even with some pacing problems, I really enjoyed it and found author’s ideas really unique. This book was my first read by Leslie Wolfe, but it certainly won’t be my last.

3.5⭐️. Wasn't terrible but wasn't great either. The character and plot building left a bit to be desired. Also, being in the medical field, in neuro, this was really unbelievable and read like the author didn't do the research. I generally avoid medical dramas for this reason but I've heard good things about Leslie Wolfe. The book seemed fast paced but looking back it took awhile for something to happen other than the main character describing her surroundings.

All in all, I wouldn't read another medical based drama by the author but not opposed to other topics written by her. I'm also not a fan of these types of book covers. They appear manufactured and generic.

This book completely gripped me from the start! Written from the perspective of Emma who has awoken from a coma following a brutal attack. She is unable to remember much and her eyesight is also impaired following the assault. The story flips chronologically throughout from before tne accident and the present, making you feel like you are discovering the truth along Emma as she gradually recalls what happened and realises she is still in danger.

I highly recommend this to anyone who loves a good mystery. Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the opportunity to read this as an ARC.

The burb is so well written it so attractive a draw to this pov story. Told by Emma the victim of a britual attack who wakes up unable to see or move or remember much. This tells how she gradually remembers and fights to survive.
Told as now and before the accident. This is a slow burner that will keep you awake until you know who the attacker was. As usual it was full of red herrings and the final act was worth the wait. It was well written. There were a few parts of the story that seemed convenient and unrealistic that key characters would not recognise each other for who they were really were. You did have to concentrate as the skillful writting meant that the timelines often switched without warning which is true of our thoughts. This was so engaging.
Highly recommended to anyone who likes a good mystery. Thanks to netgallery and publisher and author for this 5 star read.

*Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher, Bookouture for providing me with ARC in exchange for an honest review*

Whoa. When I placed my Netgalley request for the book, I hadn't anticipated this. From the book's synopsis, I knew it would be an exciting read, but I wasn't prepared for all the twists along the way. I haven't read any of Leslie Wolfe's books before, so I wasn't sure what to anticipate when I started with The Hospital. Looking forward to reading her other works. A lot was going on in the novel, and at one point I started to question everyone—including the nurses—because I thought something wasn't quite right. I was constantly wondering what Emma would find out and whether she would ever fully heal from her accident. Above all, I couldn’t resist wondering who would try to kill Emma and why.

There were a few parts at the beginning that seemed to drag on. However, the plot quickened, and I found myself unable to put the book down. I liked that the narrative was told from Emma's perspective since it allowed us to see all her emotions. I can't even begin to comprehend her feelings upon awakening at that hospital and learning of what had happened. I was engrossed in this novel and, just when I thought it could get any more surprising, the author gave us yet another twist. I still can’t seem to get the story out of my head. I do feel like the ending wasn’t quite completed. I enjoyed reading The Hospital and am glad that I got a chance to read it. I would highly recommend it to any psychological thriller fans.

From the first page this book will grab your attention and you won't stop until you find out the truth. I tried to picture myself in Emma's position and I got scared just thinking about it, that is what Leslie Wolfe's books do, they grab you and don't let go until the last page. You don't know who to trust, who is on your side or who is out to get you, there are so many twists and turns that keep you in suspense, scared for Emma and searching for reasons to trust anyone. I have read a lot of Leslie Wolf's books and have never ever been disappointed, she has honed her psychological writing skills to a fine art and can keep one guessing till the end. A must read book, you will not be disappointed.

BOOKWORMS REVIEW:
Imagine the terror..you wake in a hospital not knowing why or how,nor who you can trust. Emma was attacked, someone tried to kill her. She can't remember who but knows she was chased. She's heavily medicated for her brain injury and so her memory is spotty and unreliable. She has to solve this herself because the husband she thought she still had arrives with his girlfriend and says they divorced 3 years ago! What is going on?! It's slow in places but picks up and the stalker is revealed. I had my suspicions but won't say anything to spoil it. Thank you Bookouture NetGalley and @lesliewolfe for an arc to read and review.

How horrible it would be to lose one’s identity and have to face an uncertain future.
Wolfe really brings Emma’s fear and confusion to the forefront but also her determination and tenacity to figure out what happened,
I suspected everyone at one time while reading, one person was super creepy and seemed fake and untrustworthy.
Wolfe litters clues within the narrative and it’s obvious when you find what up you’re looking for.
I was cheering for Emma the entire time and hoping things turned out in her favor.

I went into this without reading the blurb and I’m glad I did. The story starts with Emma waking up in hospital. She can’t see, move or remember what happened. This way the reader starts with the same memories as Emma and slowly progress as she does. The story progresses with lots of unknowns and twists and gets more fast paced towards the unexpected ending.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC

This is my first book by the author and I’ve heard a lot of good things about her previous books. As for The Hospital, the story was very slow to get through but there were a lot of suspects who had motives for stalking and hurting Emma that kept me guessing. It was difficult for me to stay engaged and it took longer than expected to read unlike most of psychological thrillers I’ve read recently. The development of the story was really good and once I got to chapter 40 that’s when the story got interesting! I was right about two people the entire time, but come to find out it’s the same person!!!! Omg I wasn’t expecting that! Overall, it was a good read and I would recommend it to anyone who reads psychological thrillers.

A gripping psychological thriller from Leslie Wolfe!
The Hospital, Leslie Wolfe’s latest thriller, took me on a wild rollercoaster ride as I experienced Emma’s emotions with her. I’ve read all of Leslie’s previous books and I have to say The Hospital fits perfectly into her catalogue because of the female protagonist who is damaged in more ways than her current physical circumstances. While her issues are disclosed it is amazingly easy to like her and want her to regain her memory and physical abilities. While I can’t say this is my favorite of her books, it is without a doubt extremely high on my favorites list. If you are familiar with Leslie’s work you really owe it to yourself to read The Hospital. If you are new to Leslie Wolfe’s stories grab a copy of The Hospital and settle into a book by an author who will quickly become one of your latest favorite writers/story tellers. I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book through NetGalley and chose to provide this review.

I loved the premise of this thriller and the opening chapters set the scene for unreliable narration, multiple suspects and despair of Emma Duncan as she wakes from an attack with memory and sight loss.
Using triggers from sounds, smells and visitors, memories and her past leading up to the attack were revealed but I failed to feel connected to her or her predicament which impacted my enjoyment of the story. The pace and sense of danger picked up in the second half leading to the twisted climax. It had much promise but it wasn't for me.

Emma wakes up in hospital she can't see, move or remember much after being attacked, can her memory return before the attacker returns to finish her off. Full of intrigue and twists. A read in one sitting. Thanks to Bookoutre and Netgalley for this review copy.

The Hospital by Leslie Wolfe is a twisty, page turning thriller with great characters and lots of pace and tension.
This is a totally gripping psychological thriller. I was immersed into the story from the very first pages. Its well written and keeps you on edge. The story keeps unfolding until the very last pages.
This author is amazing, her books brilliant and this one was just incredible.

Thank You NetGalley and Publisher for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!

I've read most of Ms. Wolfe's books so I did not hesitate in downloading The Hospital. The blurb was promising but I felt that the story was not as good as it promised. It has a slow start, the main character is slow to grasp any of the things that are really happening to her and the end/culprit was totally predictable. However, in spite of prior comments, the story is entertaining!
I thank Ms. Wolfe, her publisher, and NetGalley for this ARC.
