Very interesting read! I remember hearing many of these sayings growing up and I still use some today, even though I'm only in my 30s.

Most of the sayings are short, so it is a quick read. However, some sayings I did not know but I will definitely remember for the future!

I have to admit, this was one of the funniest books I have read in a while. Growing up, sometimes in the south (we moved quite a bit) I heard so many of these sayings. Reading them took me back to those times and makes me chuckle. The book is really a fast and easy read. If you need a bit of humor, read this. I recommend it.

This book is a compilation of many wise and witty saying from generations past. Having grown up in the South, I was eager to enjoy this list as well as insight into the lives and character of the speakers. I was disappointed to discover that this book is only a list. There was no commentary on where the sayings might have originated, or into the circumstances surrounding the utterance. There were also a number of duplicates, as if the book had not been thoroughly edited.

It was a short read that might bring an occasional smile and remembrance of someone close to the reader. Otherwise, not much of substance.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

I received a complimentary copy of this book via Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.

I really enjoyed this, as it really showed out similarities. There were a few saying I had to google to find their meaning, but I did hear a lot of them growing up in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada in the 90s.

This is an interesting collection. As someone who grew up in the US south, I can honestly say that I have heard more than half of these from my grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, etc.

Pros:
- Funny and relatable
- Impressive collection
- Short read

Cons:
- It would be really interesting to have a smaller list but with more context on when / why some of the sayings happen. Or short stories related to the sayings.
- The font and cover make it seem really informal / not a published book

This is a fun, short read that I personally found really relatable and enjoyable.

800 Saying by Old Folks Who Raised Us is exactly what it sounds like! This is a book that delivers what it tell you. There are 800 sayings that you have probably heard before or uttered yourself in here. I would go out on a limb and say that this book is probably something that the younger generations need in the current day. Some of the funny phrases I remember growing up were 112. Don't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out. 418. You weren't raised in a barn, and 718. Back seat driver.

My new favorite saying is probably 455. Busier than a moth in a mitten. I love it! This is a fun and quick read that will take you back to the days of your childhood.

Thank you to NetGalley, Pageturner Press and Media, and the Author Reverend Dr. William L Rocky Brown III for the ARC of this fun little book.
