Jim Harold does it again in this series, it had that horror element that I was hoping for and enjoyed from the previous five books. It was written in a way that was suspenseful and enjoyed getting to read this.

Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read an ARC of this book. This is a book of short stories about encounters with ghosts. Some were spookier than others and I found it entertaining. I liked that the stories were shorter so it's easy to find a good stopping point. I suggested to my teenage daughter that she read it; it seems right up her alley.

Creepiness at its finest. Everyone loves a good ghost story. This book is filled with all the scary stories you love but these happen to be true. This book was a fun, creepy read.

I received a free copy of, True Ghost Stories, by Jim Harold, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book has 65 ghost stories in it. All different kinds, spooky and scary, a good read.

Rating: 3.5

This is a good collection of short horror stories and I enjoyed reading a few of them every night before bed. I love the podcast, so I'm very familiar with the type of stories. Highly recommended for people who enjoy horror and want to have something to read from time to time without committing to a big book. #TrueGhostStories #NetGalley

I've enjoyed Jim Harold's Campfire podcast ever since I began listening a few years back. The show's compilation, featuring everything from mildly eerie to truly spine-chilling tales, is captivating. Whether you're a skeptic or a believer, these stories are perfect for those moments when you want to sit down and immerse yourself in the creepy. It's an ideal book to have on hand for Halloween, or to bring along on a camping trip for storytelling around the fire. And in Jim's own words... Stay Spooky!

Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book. These opinions are completely my own.

I'm a person who can watch horror movies and not get scared but for some reason scary books terrify me. This was a daytime book, it made leaving my room to go to the washroom too difficult at night. I will be picking up the first 5.

Book #6 in the True Ghost Stories series. Each book is a collection of short stories from Jim Harold's popular podcasts so can be read as a stand alone. One warning.....these books are addictive......once you read one, you'll want them all. Harold's books are the grown up versions of the GooseBumps books so many of us read when younger. As in any collection, I loved some of the stories more than others but it did not stop me from sharing with my reading circle who all agree......this is a 5 star series. Easily read and shared so you'll be prepared for the next bout of campfire tales.

Thank you for the opportunity to preview True Ghost Stories
This is very different than what I expected. This novel tells short stories from a perspective of strange things happening that can’t be explained.
Some are better than others. Stories are short and it’s an easy way to pass time.

I'm giving this book four stars because it delivers exactly what it promises. If you like the cover, and you like the blurb, you will love what's in this book.

I had never heard of the podcast. But I was intrigued. I'm rating it maybe a little higher than my personal enjoyment. Because this book is exactly as advertised. So I cannot find fault.

PROS: Fast-paced, individual anecdotes about strange goings-on, the exact kind of weird stories people tell around campfires. This is the sort silly, lighthearted reading that people can relate to. Almost everyone has a story like this.

CONS: All of the stories have the same problem, that you have to take someone's word for it. And many of them are anticlimactic. None of them are as scary as the "Serbian Dancing Lady" on YouTube. Also I freelance as a proofreader. The red pen in my head was going berserk. So I had to take off one star.

But otherwise this book is perfect for people who want this sort of thing. Some of the stories are interesting, like the one about the strange school day where the person remembers being taken outside and tested, and the teacher said that didn't happen. Overall it's a fun and quick read, no worries.

Stay Spooky!

You know you've found a good book when you can't put it down, but you know you have found an hidden gem when you have to sleep through the night with the lights on as a result.

Professional paranormal podcaster Jim Harold's sixth volume of the collection True Ghost Stories effortlessly achieved both.

Between restless spirits, crypts, and other paranormal creatures and phenomena, you are assured a sleepless night. Disbelief is no barrier here: the eerie and haunting nature of these stories will leave the most hard-core rationalists wide-eyed and with a chill down their spines.

Since starting his podcast in 2005, The Paranormal Podcast has been a place for people to connect and share their inexplicable experiences. In Jim Harold's True Ghosts Stories, these narratives are preserved in their raw, unaltered form, ensuring an authentic experience. One that will leave you turning pages well into the night, asking for more.

I didn't know Jim Harold before, but after this chilling experience I can't wait to immerse myself further in the realm of the supernatural, and to uncover more tales that blur the lines between reality and the unknown.

Well I had never heard of the podcast or these books before reading this but I will certainly be looking for them now.

I love that these 65 stories are all short and to the point.
Probably not a good idea reading them late at night when I am downstairs all alone!
I had shivers up and down my spine with a few of the stories.

Thank you to NetGalley and Jim Harold Media for the digital ARC. All opinions are my own.

I'm a big fan of spooky stories but this just didn't do it for me. I guess the writing style just didn't hit home but the stories are interesting, i'm just picky about my creepy stories.

An important note for formatting:I noticed many formatting issues throughout this book. Extra spaces, sometimes titles didn’t align correctly. That being said, I read this using the Kindle app on my IPad, in the vertical position. There would also be times where the “True Ghost Stories: Jim Harold’s campfire…” would appear in the middle of the story, breaking reader immersion, and did contribute to what I would consider a lower star rating. The stories are engaging and very readable, but these issues were a distraction that pulled me out of the story, and so while I think the content itself is worthy of at least a 4.5 rating, the formatting was frustrating.

I’m not familiar with the podcast these stories were submitted to, but I had a wonderful time going through this book in spite of the bizarre formatting errors. Now, wether you believe these stories are true will be left up to the reader. I love a good ghost story, and while I found myself skeptical for many of them, even if I didn’t believe every single one, they were all stories I had a good time reading.

I read very fast, and managed to go through the whole book in roughly 2.5 hours in one sitting.

Some of the stories had me quite emotional to be honest. Hearing stories about loved ones and dearly departed pets come back for a final visit had me tearful. It was quite touching.

One thing I wish the book had was a more thoughtful placement of where the stories were, they seemed to be placed quite randomly.

I think it would be a nice addition to the book if the stories were catagorized.

An example:
.•Stories about shadow people or demonic entities.
• Haunted Houses
• Visits from the dead.

Wether you’re a skeptic, or a believer I think everyone can find enjoyment in these brief paranormal stories submitted to the podcast.

I love reading ghost stories so I was very excited for this one and it definitely had me creeped out and being unable to sleep!

A gripping and stressful read. This is perfect for those who like horror or paranormal podcasts/movies. I had to finish the book the same night because I just could not get enough… although sleeping after was a bit scary I thoroughly enjoyed reading the true ghost stories book!
