This picture book is about the metamorphosis phase of a child through animals like Panchatantra. This is the time when child need attention most and undoubtedly their Grand-parents become their best friends.
Same is with Adi, a calf of elephant. When he moved places he found difficulty making friends with whom he could play. There comes the right use of video call where he played his game with his Grand-Pa.

Nice illustrations and good thought behind the book.

Beautiful.

Positively loved the illustrations. They were beautiful. The same for the story. I loved that those who Adi came in contact with were pleasant, respectful and explained why they couldn't play. Adi was new to the area and hadn't made friends. He did have technology on his side. Respectfully asking for permission to make a call.

This made me feel good.

I would gift this.

Adi's New Home is a cute tale that resonates with both children and adults alike. The story of Adi, the elephant, navigating the challenges of moving to a new place is both heartwarming and relatable. As Adi grapples with missing his favorite game and feeling disconnected from his loved ones, readers are taken on a journey of self-discovery and the importance of maintaining connections. The rhyming narrative adds an extra layer of charm to the story, making it a joy to read aloud. With its beautiful illustrations and touching message about the power of love and resilience, Adi's New Home is a great addition to any children's bookshelf.

This is a good book for students who are moving. It is also a reminder that technology is helpful when needed too.

I received an electronic ARC from Book Buzz through NetGalley.
Adi and his family have moved to a new country. He tries to find someone to play his favorite game but everyone - friends and family - have other things they need to do. He is feeling lonely but then thinks about his grandfather. His father helps him connect electronically and the two play their favorite game together. Lovely story that emphasizes adjustments take time and love is portable. I appreciate that Adi came up with the solution himself rather than relying on others to problem solve for him. A simple story with a huge impact.

A cute rhyming book following Adi the elephant to the new home. Adi talks about what he's missing, mostly games he played with grandpa. No one else will play with him and his makes him miss grandpa even more. Finally he gets to facetime with grandpa and he's happy again.. All's well in Adi's world.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this ARC.

Awww, what a sweet story. Such a creative idea and relevant to many grandparent/grandchild relationships. I loved that the author gave Adi the problem-solving skills to figure out how to reach her grandfather. She also learned that people are not always available to play and that is ok. I am sure this story will spark children to find creative ways (games, etc) to connect with loved ones via video calls. I am sure there are searches for games that people either adapted or invented during the pandemic that could be played as well as the one in the book.
The game that Adi and her grandfather play is Beat That! I did a search for it and it sounds like there are many variations. I hope that this book will entice caregivers and children to explore this game as it sounds fun!
Thanks for sharing your book with me. Cheers!
