The Perfect Fiance- Omg!!! From the moment I started reading this book I couldn’t put it down! Suspenseful, edge of your seat reading!! Just when you think you figured out what is going on- BAM!! a new twist! When Julie came home early from her conference she never imaged she would find her fiancé in bed with another woman. That’s nothing compared to what comes next! Will she be able to survive what’s coming next in this psychological thriller. Can’t wait to read more T. J. Brearton books!

This book starts like a Tetris game, but with people's lives! Who is telling the truth? Who are people and their relationships? There was a lot to figure out. That said, the head scratching and action were heavier in the beginning of the book. After a speedy set up, the pace slows down as though the author and characters weren't sure where they were headed. Then, near the end, I felt like there was a twist tossed in that should have been foreshadowed a little more instead of thrown in the pot. Instead of a twist, it felt like a last ditch effort to add to the storyline. Despite that, this was a fun read!

I’d like to thank Joffe Books and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘The Perfect Fiancé’ written by T J Brearton in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Julie arrives home from a conference earlier than expected only to find her fiancé, Colton, in bed with another woman. As the woman gets dressed to leave, two men break in and despite trying to escape Julie and Colton get thrown in a van and driven to a log cabin in the wilderness. Colton tells the men he doesn’t have a clue who Julie is, leaving her wondering if she really knows her fiancé at all.

‘The Perfect Fiancé’ is the first book I’ve read by this author and although the first chapters are an exciting start with action and suspense there’s not a lot in the way of thrills. From the blurb at the beginning it promised to be the kind of book I enjoy, but it slowed down and despite having some twists and turns I struggled to keep involved in the plot. It’s well-written and flows easily off the page and I’m sure a lot of readers will love it but I’m afraid it just wasn’t for me.

I truly have very little idea on how to review this. While it’s neither a mystery or a thriller, it has twists and turns.

I’m not sure why all of the interesting twists were ignored in the end and instead leaving the end to be…nothing.

Suspend, edgy, intense—very engaging and intriguing book. It was action-packed & one twist after another. I enjoyed it!

A big “perfect” thank you to
#NetGalley, Joffe Books and T. J. Brearton for the book that pulled me up and out of a reading funk! Last week I was slogging, literally dragging, through a couple of books that I thought would be perfect for me. I was Wrong, capital W wrong. Finally, I dumped what I’d been reading into the wasteland of my never to be picked up again stack, and started The Perfect Fiancé. I’m so very glad I did.

The Perfect Fiancé by T. J. Brearton, a new to me author, is a superior winding road of a book. Nearly every chapter raised the question is Julie who I think she is, is Colton, are either one of them telling the truth? What is really going on here? Are they the victims of a complex kidnapping scheme?

Very nicely written with characters I loved to hate - “Monique”, Keith, Michael. I’m not sure I really like anyone in the book, except the police detectives and their working relationship. It brought another set of personalities into the story that Brearton did not skimp on. Both were pretty well fleshed out and interesting to follow. They would make an interesting duo for more books.

Julie comes home to find her fiancé in bed with another woman--he's denying knowing who she is--and the cherry on top, they get kidnapped. The story starts off with lots of action and intense scenes but the storyline and characters get a bit murky throughout the story. It had a few twists but I was a bit confused and unsure what was going on.

This was an alright thriller. It really didn’t get exciting until mostly near the end…. It was a little bit boring for me.

This was okay; A bit of a let down if I'm honest. It wasn't a mystery/thriller but rather an action thriller. And that just isn't my kind of book. The blunt and cover should reflect what this book really is so it gets to the right audience.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book.

It's more of an action thriller than psychological thriller. It's not a badly written book but I struggled to get through it. Maybe it was the author's writing style that didn't resonate with me. I wanted to DNF so many times.

No big twists at the end. I was super intrigued by the plot point thrown out at the 75% mark. That would have been an amazing twist but sadly the author decided to go in a different, predictable direction.

What bugged me the most that the whole plan was ridiculous. In today's day and age, it would've never worked. The author themselves presented several reasons why but for some reasons the perpetrators had rocks for brains. Which after finding out their backgrounds made no sense. Colton, the finance's actions made no sense either at any point in the book.

I enjoyed "The Perfect Fiance" but it wasn't until about 75% of the way that it picked up. It was well written, but I as the reader still had a couple of questions that weren't wrapped up at the end. I did however love the ending, as it was written to make the reader continue wondering, what if...

Julie comes home early from a conference to surprise her fiance, Colton. She comes upon him in a bedroom with a woman in bed and he denies knowing her. Soon after that, the couple is kidnapped. The book follows Julie through the journey of the kidnapping and several hidden twists.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
THE PERFECT FIANCÉ by T.J. Brearton is a totally unputdownable, nail-biting, gripping, full-of-action psychological thriller that will make your heart skip a beat!
WoW!
Right from the start the reader is sucked into the action! It was like watching an action movie! There was constant movement, no slow or boring descriptions!
And it was so cleverly twisted!

All Julie wanted was to surprise her finance Colton instead of finding Colton in bed with another woman. Colton states that he has never seen Julie but to confuse even more this whole situation some men break into the house and take her and Colton hostage. Colton still states he doesn't know who is she!
When Stamper and Cuthbert, the two main detectives, arrive on the scene they get very confused as the neighbor's door ring camera shows that Julie and Colton escape via a window and are chased down but then 3 minutes later Julie leaves the building via the main entrance...
What the hell is going on? Can Stamper and Cuthbert solve this case?

Thank you Joffe Books and NetGalley for an early copy

The author is amazing how she builds the story with intricate details, suspense, and twists that don't see coming. I've read all of her books. Her characters are well developed with emotional human characteristics. It makes you feel that you are experiencing the story, and then she masterfully creates a suspense and mystery that draws you in to see what will happen next. We'll write and definitely recommend

Julie comes home early to find her fiancé in bed with another lady. Her fiancé pretends he doesn’t know her and are then kidnapped. The first few chapters is pretty intense, but then it gets muddled with different plots and characters.

The Perfect Fiance was definitely a thrilling and addictive ride. It was a lot of fun. I was confused throughout it all, but it does all come together at the end. Overall decent read.

Wow,

This starts off sooooo well…. A woman (Julie) arrives home early from a work conference to find her fiancé (Colton) in bed with another woman and, when she challenges him, he denies knowing Julie at all!
Then, some men arrive at the house and take them hostage.

From here it all gets a little convoluted and confusing, but, it’s wrapped up well, just stick with it.

Overall, a decent, thrilling read.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to preview.

I was hooked from the cover and thought it had a great psychological thriller and I was on the edge of my seat. The characters felt like real people and enjoyed the overall feel of them. The plot worked wonderfully with what I was looking for and enjoyed getting to figure out what was going on. T.J. Brearton has a great writing style and left me wanting to read more.

I enjoyed the first part of this book. Once it changed in to the second part and added new characters, it felt like reading a whole new book again. It didn't flow smoothly.
