I did not love this book. An older widow, Lily, seeks younger people to help her open a cafe. Kate, whose husband recently left her, and Chloe, a childish 18 year old, are given the job. The characters were pretty standard (wise older woman, 30ish woman leery of love and an 18 year old wanting to be grown up) and the plot was predictable.

In Stirred With Love, readers are introduced to three wonderful characters that are as different as night and day but come together by chance and become closer than family. Grieving the loss of her husband, Lily decides to re-open the café she and her husband ran and turn it into a stylish coffee shop. She advertises and Kate and Chloe apply. Kate is going through a divorce and nursing a broken heart. Chloe is at a cross-road in her life deciding what path she wants to take so she decides to take the summer working in a coffee shop to help her figure it out.

I loved this story. All three characters are so different in their life experiences and the journey they have taken but they all have one common goal of making the coffee shop a success. These women bond over their life experiences and become fast friends as they work together to bring the coffee shop to life.

The author does an amazing job of taking the reader into each character’s life, giving the reader a front-row seat into what each character has gone through and is currently dealing with. I had a lot of empathy for each character and felt great compassion for each of them. They were easy to relate to and were very likable. This story brought many moments of laughter and tears while reading. I had a hard time putting the book down and hated to see it end.

One thing I especially liked was the coffee shop felt like a living character. I was completely entranced and mesmerized as the place begins to take shape and become a place of warmth, comfort and cheer to the customers. Lily, Kate and Chloe make this into a place they can call home. I wanted to spend my days there, bringing joy to the people sitting at the tables by the windows.

I highly recommend this book to all readers who look for a connection to the characters in the books they are reading.

I finally, finally got around to reading this, its not because I forgot, its not because I changed my mind, I was a bit worried. Why worried? Well I've been following this author as Mel Sherratt for ages reading and thoroughly enjoying her fast paced crime/thrillers and her wonderful engrossing series in her other genre, so I didn't want to see my praise for her shattered.

But boy oh boy did I enjoy this read and wish I had read it earlier.

It takes a particular talent to be able to jump into a completely different genre and make it stand out.

I actually read this in one day, its and easy laid back read with a much softer page, full of emotional stuff, gritty to the core on the emotional front. Strong, vibrant and clearly written, predictable yes, but not so much that it spoils your enjoyment

Tears of laughter and tear of joy, tears of sadness, I shed them all when reading this.

Friendship, love and a strong woman.

Many thanks to Bookoutour via Net Galley for my copy and this author for providing me with a fab read.

I couldn’t finish this book, I like the author’s writing and have enjoyed many of their books before but this one wasn’t one I could get into. I will try again when the author’s next book is released as I am a fan of theirs.

I read this book in March 2016 but realized that I haven't posted a review on it and what a shame because I remember to have really loved and enjoyed this book! I always enjoy very much the books from Marcie Steele, they have a very comforting thing to them... They always talk about relationships between girl friends and women in general. This time the book talks about 3 women living in the same house and working all together in a Cafe. 3 different generations: one is 18 years old, one is 32 and the last one is over 60. It was really nice to read about the relationships between those 3. It's a really lovely read but also quite emotional and sad at some parts. Really, a perfect book!!!!!!
